This room is in my comfortable, homey apartment on the ground floor of a very quiet, tree-lined street in the North Slope, steps from the cafes, bars, shops and restaurants of 5th Avenue, and close to the 1,2,Q,D,B,N,R and M Subway trains. Walk to Barclays Center, Prospect Park, Fort Greene, Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Botanical Gardens and much more. The bedroom has a regular bed with a full-size mattress, (a second twin-size airbed is available). This is a simple and casual space: Clean, but neither fussy nor luxurious. However, the backyard is a lush urban oasis - quite big and great for barbeques and relaxing in the summer. You have full access to the entire home and garden. Sometimes, we barbeque back there, and my guests often join me. There are A/C units in each bedroom, plus fan. Includes space in hall closet and a chest of drawers, plus cable TV with digital program recorder, HBO and wireless internet connection, fresh sheets and towels, dark roast coffee. I am an easy going writer who lives alone with my Irish Terrier, Wilson. I am happy to share my home with you!
David's place has a great location, just a few minutes from several subway lines, and we felt completely safe walking late at night. The room is comfortable for two people (2 single airbeds). His apartment is clean and cozy and he's a pretty chill host. We happened to arrive on the night of a big concert at the Barclay Center, and parking was impossible to find until the concert was over, but other than event times parking seemed to not be a problem. For light sleepers, earplugs are recommended due to some noise from the street and upstairs.
Thank you for your hospitality. I have a vera good souvenir.
David's apartment was in a great location for everything I wanted to do. It was clean and David made me feel at home. I would stay there again.
I recently spent a week with David in his apt in Park Slope with my girlfriend. You could not ask for a nicer host, a great guy and a lovely apartment. The location is great, and David does a great job in making you feel at home straight away. 5 Stars, thoroughly recommend.
David has a great place, a great dog and is a great guy. Not much more to say.
Our stay at the apartment was comfortable. David was very prompt with his responses and made sure someone was available to help us since he couldn't be there. Please note that the bathroom is shared and the room is small. We did not spend much time at the apartment, therefore, it did not cause a lot of problem for us. I am not a fan of shared bathrooms and if this is a problem, please pay attention when booking this room.
Nice flat, cool neighbourhood, good host and great dog! What else can you ask for.
I've stayed in David's apartment for nearly two weeks. He is a very interesting person, smart and kind. He is also a very good chef! The apartment is on the ground level in a very safe and quiet neighborhood. right in the center of Park Slope, plenty of restaurants, cozy bars and shops.
The apartment is also nice and the room quite comfortable. For improving the standard of the accomodation I would recommend to David a little more attention on the cleaning of the apartment and in particularly of the bathroom.
This place is in a great location from which to explore Brooklyn and Manhattan. It is literally a one-minute walk to Park Slopes’s 5th Avenue, where there is a trendy and diverse scene, as well as dozens of high-quality, yet reasonably priced restaurants and cafes. It is also not far from the subway lines that can take you to Manhattan.
David is great - genuine and accommodating. The place itself is very basic - a basement apartment with an air bed in a private room, shared bathroom, and shared seating. Wilson the dog adds even more personality to the arrangement. All in all, a good experience.
David was a very personable and helpful host, and his place was just fine for my stay. I was really not in the house much except to sleep and shower, and didn't cook anything in the kitchen, so can't say much about those facilities. One thing I would mention is that the room he rents is right across from a neighborhood playground that is apparently in constant use when the weather is good. So, if you plan on sleeping during daylight hours, you'll hear the constant squeak of the swings, etc. I'm a sound sleeper, but if you're not, it might be an issue.
