Spacious & light yet cozy one bedroom flat within walking distance of city centre. Comfortably fits 2. Enjoy the renovated bathroom & kitchen, being close to restaurants, bars & cafés, the marvelous Haga Park and having 1 block to main subway line!
This beautiful one roomed flat of 431 sqf / 40 sq m is located a stone's throw from Odenplan in Vasastan in central Stockholm. You will have the whole space to yourselves!
It takes 20 minutes to walk to the very city centre of Stockholm and 3 stops (5 minutes) on the underground. 10 minutes on the buss and you're at the trendy shopping area around Stureplan in the city centre.
On the 3rd floor with three large windows facing a quiet and cosy yard, this flat is extremely light and with its high ceiling (3.2 metres) feels very spacious.
There is a large balcony with afternoon and evening sunshine during the summer where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner on the colourful balcony furniture.
The house was built in 1886 and although modernized, still features characteristics from late 19th century.
The flat was renovated in its entirety in 2006. The modern kitchen is fairly large, with a round dining room table, a built in dishwasher, an induction stove top and warm air oven from Bosch/Siemens.
The bathroom has pretty, green and white tiles, a shower, a large mirror and underfloor heating.
The room is large and spacious with a double bed, fun vintage furniture and a walk in closet.
The Vasastan neighbourhood is a cosy residential area with nice independent shops, cute cafés and a lot of nice restaurants and bars, like the legendary Swedish restaurant Tranan (located 2 minutes away from my flat).
Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!
You will have access to everything that my flat has to offer :-)
Interaction with Guests
If I am in town, I would love to meet you to say hi and give you some suggestions of things to do in the gorgeous city of Stockholm! But you will have the place entirely to yourselves :-)
The best thing about Vasastan are all the nice restaurants, bars, cafés and independent stores. My apartment is just 10 minutes away from Haga Park, vast and popular nature area, with large parks, lakes, woods and gardens. Within the park is Haga Palace, King Gustav III's Pavilion, the Chinese Pavilion, the Echo Temple, the Turkish Kiosk, an older castle ruin (which is not really a ruin as it is the remains of a castle never finished) and several other interesting buildings on the grounds (as the peculiar Copper Tents and also the Butterfly House).
My favourite restaurant is Tranan, just 2 minutes from my apartment. It offers amazing Swedish traditional food, like Pelle Janzon, Swedish meatballs, bleak roe toast and lots more delicious dishes.
A new popular restaurant just round the corner i Lilla Ego which my friends tell me is great. Haven't been yet since it's so new. Booking recommended.
There are plenty of grocery stores located in every direction. I prefer Konsum on Odenplan (near the underground station) which has a good organic selection.
Stockholm has excellent public transport. During weekdays the underground runs until around 1 am. During the weekend it runs all around the clock. There are night buses that take you pretty much everywhere.
Here is the journey planner for Stockholm's public transport, which works like a charm: (website hidden)
Other Things to Note
You will receive my guide to Stockholm packed with tips of the best restaurants, bars, clubs, cafés and things to see!
No smoking whatsoever allowed indoors. Please use the balcony. Please be respectful of the neighbours. Since the building is pretty old, noise travels easily. You can play music, but please turn down the volume and the base after 10 pm. No pets in this apartment, sorry!
Livia's flat is really beautiful, and Livia is a very nice person and a careful host. I really enjoyed these few days at her place. :)
Livia has been a great host, she waited for us and explain everything about the flat and furnitures. Her flat is very nice, a perfect accomodation to discover Stockholm, it's very near to the Odenplan metro station and has a lot of bus lines stopping just around the corner or just a block away. The surrounding is quiet and sure. The little balcony on 3rd floor is convenient and nice to have dinner. And, (thank you Livia!) she put on black courtain just before our arrival, so good sleeps are granted! Furthermore, she has been always very kind and helpful, leaving tourist information material and giving us a lot of useful tips. Warmly recommended!
My experience there was marvellous. Livia was very communicative and responded quickly to all my requests even though she was out of the country. She also had a backup person in case I have any specific needs. The rooms were lovely and she left all the basics there in the kitchen for a nice breakfast plus a full stock of other necessities for cooking a nice meal. The location is also commendable with lots of cafés, restaurants and even a laundromat a block or two away, not to mention the subway and buses. Just don't go to the pizza place down the street :-)
The reservation was canceled 59 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
I've stayed in many apartments in my time, mainly to cook as i'm a vegetarian, and this was by far the worst experience i have ever had. I'm not one to normally air my grievances but feel it important on this occasion:
- there are no blinds in her apartment and, if like me, you're a light sleeper then this is not the place for you
- The condition of the building itself was far from safe, due to renovations occurring and the booking should never have been accepted.
- i called her for help on arrival, as i couldn't find her keys, and non came
- She sent me ‘helpful city tips’ the day before i left, which was not really helpful
- Her kitchen/fridge had no space for me to leave anything I might have bought
- her dishwasher had utensils in there on arrival, which I guess I was expected to unload
- She sent me her me her boyfriends number to deal with him with any issues I might be facing
- There was hair on the shower floor and i'd argue the flat was not very clean for a guests arrival
Bad, bad and very bad experience.
I am extremely sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your stay. Previously I have _only_ received top reviews and everyone has been so happy and satisfied about their stay. I have never before received a complaint, a bad review or even any bad private feedback from a guest. I can't say how surprised I am and much it saddens me that you feel this way. Before writing this review I have repaid you £100 and you have received another £100 from Airbnb. I hope that you feel that you have been compensated.
I must also write that I think you are very much in the wrong. First of all it was extremely difficult if not impossible to communicate with you both before and during your stay. You took very long in responding to my messages over Airbnb prior to your stay and did not provide me with clear info on your time of arrival. Neither did you acknowledge my request prior to your arrival to read my house manual and instructions on how to find the keys - instructions that have worked fool proof in the past. This all very unfortunately resulted in difficulties finding the keys when I unfortunately was unavailable to take your call - since I was under the impression that you were arriving at my flat in the evening.
On the evening of your arrival, I reached out to you via sms to make sure that everything was going fine. I sent you repeated text messages and emails both over Airbnb and to your (website hidden) to check that everything was alright but you never responded. Therefore I had no way of knowing you felt this way and no way of helping you.
For me it is natural to sleep without blinds but I provide all my guests with sleeping masks which I notified you about. Regarding the construction work in the stairwell, I cannot apologize enough. However, I informed you about this as soon as I learnt about it - I did not receive a time plan for the building and there was nothing I could do to foresee this. It was completely beyond my control. To be helpful, I sent you my co-host and boyfriend’s number who lives just down the road in case you needed anything - I would never have imagined that you would be offended by this! The same goes for my city guide, I was only trying to be nice sending over some recommendations of places to eat and see. In addition, in my message two days before your arrival, I notified you that I would leave food in the fridge that you could help yourself to, just as a small compensation for the building in the house. Again, just trying to be helpful. And honestly there was plenty of room for more stuff in the fridge. Regarding the cleanliness of my apartment, I had my cleaner over just days before you came and so I know that my apartment was clean. I take a lot of pride in keeping my flat very clean. If there was hair in the shower, I can only but apologize for this. I really tried to do my very best to make your stay as good as possible. I love the Airbnb community and have had the pleasure of meeting so many wonderful people both as a host and during my own travels and have honestly never accounted such a difficult guest that is impossible to please.
Livia's home was perfect for our visit to Stockholm. The apartment was tastefully furnished, comfortable and centrally located. Livia was extremely helpful, providing detailed instructions and tips for exploring the area. Would happily stay here again!
We had a peaceful and comfortable 4 days stay at Livias flat. It has everything 2 girlfriends need for a women city trip with easy going nights ;o) Good access to bus from airport and to city centre. Livia is answering questions in very short time.
