I am extremely sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your stay. Previously I have _only_ received top reviews and everyone has been so happy and satisfied about their stay. I have never before received a complaint, a bad review or even any bad private feedback from a guest. I can't say how surprised I am and much it saddens me that you feel this way. Before writing this review I have repaid you £100 and you have received another £100 from Airbnb. I hope that you feel that you have been compensated.

I must also write that I think you are very much in the wrong. First of all it was extremely difficult if not impossible to communicate with you both before and during your stay. You took very long in responding to my messages over Airbnb prior to your stay and did not provide me with clear info on your time of arrival. Neither did you acknowledge my request prior to your arrival to read my house manual and instructions on how to find the keys - instructions that have worked fool proof in the past. This all very unfortunately resulted in difficulties finding the keys when I unfortunately was unavailable to take your call - since I was under the impression that you were arriving at my flat in the evening.

On the evening of your arrival, I reached out to you via sms to make sure that everything was going fine. I sent you repeated text messages and emails both over Airbnb and to your (website hidden) to check that everything was alright but you never responded. Therefore I had no way of knowing you felt this way and no way of helping you.

For me it is natural to sleep without blinds but I provide all my guests with sleeping masks which I notified you about. Regarding the construction work in the stairwell, I cannot apologize enough. However, I informed you about this as soon as I learnt about it - I did not receive a time plan for the building and there was nothing I could do to foresee this. It was completely beyond my control. To be helpful, I sent you my co-host and boyfriend’s number who lives just down the road in case you needed anything - I would never have imagined that you would be offended by this! The same goes for my city guide, I was only trying to be nice sending over some recommendations of places to eat and see. In addition, in my message two days before your arrival, I notified you that I would leave food in the fridge that you could help yourself to, just as a small compensation for the building in the house. Again, just trying to be helpful. And honestly there was plenty of room for more stuff in the fridge. Regarding the cleanliness of my apartment, I had my cleaner over just days before you came and so I know that my apartment was clean. I take a lot of pride in keeping my flat very clean. If there was hair in the shower, I can only but apologize for this. I really tried to do my very best to make your stay as good as possible. I love the Airbnb community and have had the pleasure of meeting so many wonderful people both as a host and during my own travels and have honestly never accounted such a difficult guest that is impossible to please.
