We hebben een heerlijke vakantie gehad, zeker door het comfort wat we van het huisje hadden. Er hangt een warme sfeer en alles is ongedwongen. Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien en de tuin is heerlijk.
The guest house was lovely and very peaceful. This area outside of Gorey is a great spot for a home base when touring the South East of Ireland. My ancestors came from this area 200 years ago and my father, daughter and I were interested in learning more about it. We would have gone there regardless, however; it is gorgeous country. We had a car and used it to visit facinating tourist spots like Glendalough, Newgrange, Dunbrody Famine Ship Experience and the Irish National Heritage Park, as well as the beautiful towns and villages nearby. We also took a day trip to the seaside town of Kinsale in Cork. The Wexford bus runs every hour from Gorey and was a convenient way to get in to Dublin without worrying about parking.
Cyril was a very accommodating host and helped us with a number of the little things we needed. He was also kind enough to pick up my 88 year old father from the nearby golf course when my daughter and I were away on a day trip. The wireless internet was a little weak while we were there, but Cyril supplied a cable connection which I was able to use to turn my laptop into a hotspot by downloading Connectify software. Overall a very enjoyable stay!
The house was exactly as per pictures and spotless. Cyril was a great host, gave perfect directions and met us as we arrived outside. A very relaxing sleep over the two nights and very useful availability of a travel cot (we had our own with us) and a high chair to feed our 1 year old.
Some great suggestions for us for the weekend, a relaxing walk by Seafield Hotel and down to the beach, and a visit to Marlfield House for Sunday lunch (highly recommended).
Shops, beaches and Gorey all in the vicinity - an ideal spot for a break.
A lovely place in Gorey. Cyril was very kind to come to pick us up from the high street where we got dropped off from our coach. The place was very bright and airry with plenty of windows. There is a built in kitchen, washing machine and a dishwasher. The living room is an open plan with sofas and a big dinning table where you and your guests can relax and enjoy your time in Gorey. The place is well insulated with plenty of hot water for everyone.
The beds were sooo comfortable, we didn't want to get up !!
We asked for an iron to do some ironing and it was provided immediately.
Before you check in, you might want to visit many choices of super markets around the high street to get your essentials i.e. Milk, cereals, bread. If you fancy a lazy late breakfast. Also do bring your own shower gels, shampoos to the place.
The wifi was not working while we were there because Cyril had a bit of a problem with it but it was not a problem for us because we have free data roaming on our phones.
We didn't get a chance to go down to the beach with our 2 nights stay ( we were here for a wedding) but I'm sure it's lovely. All in all it was a great experience with no fuss and no hiccups, we definitely recommend this place for anyone who would like to visit this lovely town.
We were only able to stay for two nights, but loved the space and decor of the Guest House which is light and airy and with plenty of windows. The area is also very convenient with restaurants and stores within a few kilometers. (we had a car) We received a great welcome and had a very good rest on the beds, with plenty of bedding and the house was quick to warm up in the morning. We stayed during the eclipse, and although the clouds didn't cooperate, the sun definitely put on a great show through the big windows in the dining area.
Lovely spot. Clean, warm and very comfy. Really close to the Gorey town we had a nice relaxing weekend. Thanks Cyril
