This is a residential area so please keep noise down, other than that there are no rules!
A lovely place in Gorey. Cyril was very kind to come to pick us up from the high street where we got dropped off from our coach. The place was very bright and airry with plenty of windows. There is a built in kitchen, washing machine and a dishwasher. The living room is an open plan with sofas and a big dinning table where you and your guests can relax and enjoy your time in Gorey. The place is well insulated with plenty of hot water for everyone.
The beds were sooo comfortable, we didn't want to get up !!
We asked for an iron to do some ironing and it was provided immediately.
Before you check in, you might want to visit many choices of super markets around the high street to get your essentials i.e. Milk, cereals, bread. If you fancy a lazy late breakfast. Also do bring your own shower gels, shampoos to the place.
The wifi was not working while we were there because Cyril had a bit of a problem with it but it was not a problem for us because we have free data roaming on our phones.
We didn't get a chance to go down to the beach with our 2 nights stay ( we were here for a wedding) but I'm sure it's lovely. All in all it was a great experience with no fuss and no hiccups, we definitely recommend this place for anyone who would like to visit this lovely town.
We were only able to stay for two nights, but loved the space and decor of the Guest House which is light and airy and with plenty of windows. The area is also very convenient with restaurants and stores within a few kilometers. (we had a car) We received a great welcome and had a very good rest on the beds, with plenty of bedding and the house was quick to warm up in the morning. We stayed during the eclipse, and although the clouds didn't cooperate, the sun definitely put on a great show through the big windows in the dining area.
Lovely spot. Clean, warm and very comfy. Really close to the Gorey town we had a nice relaxing weekend. Thanks Cyril
Cyril greeted me upon my arrival, showed me around and made sure all was well before leaving me to it. The house is as described and just like the photos. It's bright and airy with central heating, modern cosy couches and all mod cons. I went there to study for nine days, avail of some peace and quiet, it was the perfect place for it.
Cyril was very accommodating, he gave me a lend of a blender to make smoothies. I had no car so he also loaned me his bike to get to town and the beach which was perfect.
I would stay again if the opportunity arose, highly recommended.
Home exactly as per the pictures - spotless, well equipped and designed, comfortable, great location. Cyril was immediately responsive, had great suggestions for food, arranged a babysitter. Will be back!
My wife and I were in Ireland for the first time with our four and one year-old boys and stayed at Cyril's property during the second week of September 2014. We very much enjoyed our stay, and Cyril went out of his way to make our time there a memorable one.
Frist off, the location was perfect - we ended not going back to Dublin because there was so much to do there. We spent time at the Courtown beach, indoor pool, playground and Seal Rescue Center just 5 minutes away. The charming town of Gorey is just 5 minutes in the other direction and we did some shopping there. We went to Glendalough of course just 45 mins away and the Seafield golf course and spa as well, which has a great wooded walk down to the beach along a brook with a 6 foot waterfall as it enters the sea. We took advantage of babysitting to treat ourselves to an excellent meal at Marlfield one night and a spa afternoon at Seafield.
There is plenty of outdoor space at the house for the kiddies to run around and I even had an impromptu soccer match with my four year-old. Our kids played with the Cyril's kids' toys and had a lot of fun - there was even a kitten that our older boy could not stop hugging.
The house is two minutes off of the main highway to Dublin so it's tough to get lost and easy to get to where you want to go. Everything was clean and modern in the house with just a few minor overlooked items (e.g. spatula, dishwasher detergent, Kleenex, hangars) that were quickly provided.
What really made the trip for us was how Cyril bent over backwards to help us out and ensure we had an enjoyable stay. Starting with our late arrival from Dublin to our easy check-out, Cyril was there and available for us, making recommendations, working through options, setting up our babysitter and even making reservations for us at Marlfield. I hope he doesn't have to do this for every guest, but for us it was incredibly helpful and helped make our time in Ireland so memorable. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay there again.
