Lake view

Soak up the view during your stay.
An open-concept, light-filled retreat, Sasquatch Lodge is a perfect refreshing getaway. Jump in the shimmering lake or explore it in our kayaks or rowboat. Enjoy sunset cocktails on the deck and catch a shooting star lounging by the fire pit. Curl up in cozy beds after a movie on the projector. Easy hikes, beaches, tennis, swim holes, island activities, and a golf course are yours to discover on charming Anderson Island, an easy drive and quick ferry trip from Seattle, Tacoma, and Portland.

The space
Perfect for up to seven adults, Sasquatch Lodge is a well-appointed waterfront lakehouse with four bedrooms, three baths and generous shared spaces and a large deck looking over Anderson Island’s Lake Florence.

Get cozy in comfy beds, play board games, and watch movies on a projector with Apple TV (with HBO, Showtime, Netflix, Hulu, etc.), good WiFi, and more.

Whip up meals in an open-concept kitchen, with all the things you could need—a complete list of equipment, essentials, and appliances is available upon request.

Find just the right corner for you in four bedrooms (three sleep a couple, one sleeps a single). The main floor has two bedrooms, two baths (one en suite), and two more bedrooms share a bath upstairs.

Enjoy a custom-built fire pit, a deck with a lounge and dining table, plus things to play with like kayaks, a rowboat, tennis/pickleball equipment, floaties, and more. Parks, tennis, easy hiking, golf, a general store, a cafe and bar/restaurant are all nearby.

On a personal note…

Sasquatch Lodge is our weekend and vacation place that we continually improve to make it the most relaxing and fun place we can think of. We rent it out sometimes during the year so that other people can enjoy it like we do.

We leave it sparkling clean and put our personal things in storage when we’re not there so it’s set like a hotel, but we want it to feel like you’re staying at a friend of a friend’s house. We want you to love it as much as we do, and hope you’ll take care of it as such, being gentle on the house and being good neighbors to our fellow islanders.

We accept inquiries up to three months out and prefer to rent to good communicators with good reviews.

When you write us, we’d love to hear what brings you to the island, if you’ve been before, about your group, how many cars you might bring, and if you are new to Airbnb, and any questions you might have. We want to make sure you are comfy!

In case you missed the official settings, no kids under 12, parties, or pets allowed on property please, for safety reasons.

Thanks!

Guest access
The whole house is yours to enjoy except the basement storage level.

Other things to note
FERRY: Anderson Island is solely accessible by a scenic 20-minute ride on a ferry (or private boat) from Steilacoom, WA. Please download the Anderson Island Assistant and Pierce County Ferry apps to your phone before heading to the island to help you plan. Ferries run roughly every hour from about 6 am until later evening (but not late night), and more frequently in the summer months. There are no ferries overnight.

LAKE: Our house looks over Lake Florence, and you can walk down our yard to the lake. It is a good place to launch floaties, kayaks or rowboats. There is a buoy off the shore that is ours which you can tie up to when floating. The dock that may appear in some photos is not ours, it belongs to our neighbors and may not be used.

COVID-19: It is important to us that this is a healthy, happy place for everyone, especially in these strange times. We leave multiple days between bookings to allow for proper cleaning (it takes two days at least). We expect our guests to exercise distancing, masking and other precautions before coming for a stay, and to be transparent if they have been infected or feel ill before, during, or after their stay.

CLEANING: We pay our cleaners a living wage. And we personally clean in addition to them.

Neighborhood highlights

Nestled at the end of a cul-de-sac on the lake, our street is very quiet unless the neighbors are out to play too (which is rare).

Anderson Island is a small island in the South Sound, and about half of the island is a community called the Riviera Country Club, of which we are part.

As a guest, you are allowed access to Riviera amenities like the golf course (small fee), parks and boat launches. Sasquatch Lodge is just a block from Interlachen Park where the two main lakes on the island meet. It features a swimming hole, tennis courts, play area, and boat launches.

Our lake (Lake Florence) allows motorized boats and jet skis, and Lake Josephine takes non-motorized watercraft. Fishing licenses may be purchased at the Riviera Club office (see guidebook for location).

Quiet hours start at 10 PM, until 9 AM. We love our neighbors, and we expect our guests to be respectful of the island and the people here too.

I love traveling, especially in cities. Art, design and culture fascinate me. I'm vegetarian, but I'll eat anywhere if it looks good. I love a good dive bar. My boyfriend and I are hosts in Seattle, and try to be the perfect guests when we are visiting elsewhere. We've tried to make our place well-designed and thoughtful, so we love finding others that do the same.
