Large room situated on a quiet, beautiful tree-lined block in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. One subway stop to Manhattan & and surrounded by many cute neighborhoods, anything you need can be found close by. LGBT friendly.

The Space

We have a great sized, fully furnished room with 2 closets. It has a full sized bed, extra long couch, coffee table, work desk w/chair and lamp, situated on a beautiful tree-lined block in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. Boerum Hill is a long, skinny residential neighborhood that lies between Park Slope, Fort Green & Gowanus. So basically 1/2 a blk from 4th Ave which is officially Park Slope, and ideal because we are literally between every fun neighborhood around here, and really close to a number of subways. Park Slope was rated #1 neighborhood in NY.

We supply your morning coffee. We have a french press and air press, fruit & toast, butter and jams, and a clean room with fresh sheets and towels, and we have a great kitchen for cooking full of pots, pans, blender, electric kettle, steamers, baking equipment, spices, etc. You get your own shelf in the fridge and cabinet space. The bathroom has a full sized tub, with a detachable shower head.

It's so convenient, just a 5 minute walk to Barclay/Atlantic subway (trains are: 2,3,4,5,B,D,R,N,Q), other trains close by are the A,C,F & G. BARCLAYS CENTER & BAM, ATLANTIC TERMINAL/CENTER are within 2-3 blks, as well as a host of bars, cafes, and restaurants, clothing & grocery stores, a Ricky's, are all right around the corner. Also, there are plenty of Citibike racks very close by. If you are into fitness there's a great Yoga place 1/2 block from here, and a mixed martial arts & crossfit gym on the corner where you can pay by the class.

You would have your own air conditioned (in summer) room in a shared three bedroom apt, with two creative types who work in the design and fashion industries.

This is a non smoking environment. No pets are allowed (but we do have 1 hypoallergenic, Russian Siberian kitty that is very easy on the allergies), We have WIFI and instructions to get on it are in your room.

We have recently repainted and decorated the room and are quite happy with it's new look! The room was off the market for over a year so we are just getting it up again since Nov. Take advantage of our guidebook suggestions, there's plenty more we can tell you. Just ask! We are happy to answer your questions and want you to have a great experience.

Guest Access

Guests have access to WIFI, a shelf in the fridge, a shared kitchen and bathroom & a private room with it's own couch.

Interaction with Guests

I am always there to greet you. I interact as much as you need me or want to chat.

The Neighborhood

This neighborhood is becoming an entertainment hub with Barclays and BAM. It's also culturally very diverse and interesting. We have fantastic places to see music, like The Bell House, too many restaurants and bars to recount, great shopping new and vintage. The neighborhood is pretty convenient. We are located next to the most central subway station in Brooklyn, Atlantic/Barclays. You'll find the LIRR there as well, a shopping mall 3 blks away with stores like Target and Old Navy, a variety of neighborhoods within walking distance, Prospect Park. Despite all the conveniences our street remains quiet.

Getting around

Barclays subway. Close by are the following lines;
A,C,D,B,N,R,Q,2,3,4,5,G,F, and LIRR. City bikes are everywhere, cycling around here is good fun.

Other Things to Note

We do not have laundry on the premises but we do have 2 laundry mats and 3 laundry drop offs all on the corner of our blocks (either end of St. marks Place between 3rd & 4th).

  • Angela is great! Very friendly and accommodating. The room is large, comfortable, and spotless. The location is great -- very close to a lot of public transportation options. A great place to stay if you are exploring Brooklyn and/or Manhattan. I highly recommend staying with Angela!

  • Staying at Angela's is like staying at a good friend's who has an apartment in New York City...if your friend lives on a quiet treelined street of brownstones just a few blocks from practically every subway line that matters and a handy shopping/eating neighborhood.

If you're flying out of JFK as I was the next day, there's a great limo service literally around the corner and you're only abut 20 to 30 minutes away.

This is an excellent option if you don't want to pay $250-$350 room rates in Manhattan. The bedroom is very comfortable and roomier than a lot of Manhattan hotel rooms (nice firm mattress) and it's great to wake up with a view of trees and brownstones outside your window. I got a very good night's sleep (The AC works and keeps the room comfortable in the summer.)

This a *real* NYC apartment in that the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom are probably smaller than you're used to unless you've lived in places like London or Paris, but it's all workable. Angela is an superb host. Friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back.

    Response from Angela:

Thanks for the amazing and detailed review! Funny, in the winter I generally have eucalyptus in the bathroom, right now I have that little blue bottle of organic spritz air freshener left from a previous guest that makes them herself! BTW, I do have a vent, it turns on with the light and you can't turn it off, however, it must be time to clean it from accumulated dust ;)
    Thanks again for everything.

My mom loved you as well. I still haven't looked up if I can get it here, in the weeds work wise. I'll let you know.

  • During our week stay Angela was ever so pleasant. She gave us helpful tips to get around on the train and recommended us to try a few spots. Angela will give you your space and privacy and will make sure you are comfortable. Her place is very nice, clean and cozy and the neighborhood is great. Very conveniently located within a short walking distance to public transportation. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back the next time we're in New York. Thanks Angela!

  • This was an amazing place to stay! It was incredibly affordable, very clean, relatively quiet, in a perfect location (very close to lots of neat shopping, bars, and essential New York subway stops) and Angela was super cool. We made our reservation very last minute, and she was 100% accommodating. I only wish we had had more time to spend there. I completely recommend this spot to anyone and everyone going to New York. Next time I visit, I will check for this room first!

  • Angela has been a great host for our very first visit to New York! She's been very helpful on where to go and what to do in Brooklyn and NY area as well. The house was clean, the room was spacious, and her roommate and cat (Suki) were very friendly.

One night, she even prepared a herbal tea for my wife because she wasn't feeling good! I highly recommend staying at her house and hope to stay & see her soon again!

  • This was perfect! I could not have asked for a better place or experience. Everything was very clean, Angela was accommodating & welcoming, had little extras for me which I didn't have time to utilize, still comforting to know that she would share her orange juice or a slice of toast :-). Comfortable bed. Lots of room to organize your stuff. Felt like I was at my own place. Just an overall great experience. Will most definitely book with her again on my next trip! Very convenient for public transportation and love the area! Very safe for a single female traveler.
