Excellent large 2 bedroom apartment (king size and a double). Also 2 living rooms, good size kitchen and bathroom with shower. It is a lovely old building with high ceilings, wood and tiled floors. There is cable TV and broadband internet.
The apartment is very light and airy and situated well away from street, therefore nice and quiet. Located 1 block from major bars, restaurants and other amenities in Palermo Hollywood; one of the best areas in Buenos Aires.
Palermo Hollywood features a Spanish- style architecture and there are not many high buildings apart from newer apartment towers. That is because for a long time there was a law prohibiting new buildings in the area from being above nine meters in height. The combination of low houses, wide streets and trees lends it a nice ambiance. Palermo Hollywood is also home to the well known milonga Práctica X (Humboldt 1464). This milonga is notable for the fact that its patrons are overwhelmingly non-Argentine, which might be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you’re looking for. It’s a young crowd too. Check their website for exact details, but a preliminary tango class from 9pm to 10:30pm, and a dance from 10:30pm until 3am is standard.
You can also visit the Mercado de las Pulgas - Flea Market (Niceto Vega 200), which technically is in Colegiales. You won’t see many tourists at this covered market, which sells second-hand (or probably more accurately fourth- or fifth-hand) furniture, something which Buenos Aires has no shortage of. Its rabbits’ warren of stalls are fun to poke around in and offer a glimpse of the city’s opulent past. Open daily from 10am to 5pm.
Apartment is exactly as shown in the pics and in a beautiful and secure block. Has a great old world charm feel to it, with high ceilings, fans, big windows, courtyards in the complex. Lee has a good bunch of people who look after the apartment and your needs. The neighbourhood is excellent with loads of restaurants, cafes, and bars in Palermo Hollywood itself and only a short walk from Palermo Soho. Would definitely stay there again.
This is a great apartment. In the perfect area of Palermo Hollywood, it's a nice mix of commercial and residential while just being a few minutes away from the nightly chaos of the main Palermo.
Surrounded by nice bars and restaurants, we had a really enjoyable month in Buenos Aires and the apartment was a big part of that, it's really beautiful. Lovely wooden floors and doors, lots of light, a large kitchen for working at the table and preparing food. The complex itself is beautiful and very secure. We were very sad to leave Lee's apartment. Piper, who looks after the flat for Lee is a real credit, she was so kind and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for her.
As other reviewers have said, it could use a little investment to be rented at this price point, personally I like its minimalism and its space, but a new TV and a toaster would be an obvious easy upgrade, apart from that its nicely stocked with kitchen stuff, books, dvds, speakers, everything else that you'll need. I'd happily stay here every time I'm in BA.
Let me say upfront--the apartment is beautiful and the neighborhood is very nice. Lots of nearby cafes and restaurants. The building itself is classic, and the apartment is (though plain) very pleasant with beautiful floors, adequate furniture, air conditioning in most (but not all) rooms.
However, our stay was not pleasant. The owner is absentee (lives in Europe). The on-site person (a friend and neighbor) left town for the duration of our stay. Normally that's not a problem, but we lost both internet service and electricity during our stay (NOT A BLACKOUT, but an actual problem with the unit itself) and they were effectively no help in resolving either situation. At one point I was emailed the numbers of two electricians (they left it to me to address the situation) and neither number worked.
The kitchen needs work. No microwave, no toaster, the coffeepot was not complete (I had to put together pieces-parts to rig something that would work). Some of the baking dishes were not clean.
The television is from another time.
There are no curtains, and while there are blinds, if you are a light-sensitive sleeper, it will be a problem.
Honestly, a modest investment of a few hundred dollars would turn this already beautiful apartment into a real winner. And the on-site management issue needs to be rethought.
Lee's apartment was in a perfect location and we had a great stay. The house has a live in supervisor, who was super-friendly and made our stay feel extra safe. The apartment is in the back of the building, which means it is very quiet, it has everything you need for a very pleasant stay in BA. Would stay there again any time!
This apartment with its high ceilings, significant space and exposed brick walls was wonderful (just like it looks in the photos), and I would highly recommend staying here. The location is exceptional, in short walking distance from loads of great restaurants, bars and shops. In addition, it is really quiet as it is on the top floor and off a courtyard far from the street traffic. There is also air-conditioning in most of the rooms and extra bedding (if needed).
Piper, who manages the apartment for Lee was extremely helpful and friendly, despite our very late arrival due to travel delays. Lee was also quick to respond to all of my inquiries during the booking process.
Amazing location, beautiful building, air conditioning worked very well. Tons of space, was roomy for three people. Workable kitchen, the shower and bathroom could use an update, but maybe that's what you get. Bare bones furniture and beds. If you want location above all, this is it! Close to subway, Palermo Soho, bars, restaurants, clubs.
We really could't have asked for a more perfect apartment for our stay in Palermo while at language school the last couple of weeks. It is ideal to explore the endless bars and restaurants of the area but the apartment is quiet and tucked away in a charming old building. The place has everything you need, is spacious and tastefully decorated and the two double bedrooms are a good size.
Piper was always available for anything that came up and for tips on the area. We will definitely be in touch for our next stay in Palermo!

I have travelled quite a lot and lived in several different countries, I spent nearly 5 years in Argentina and most of that time lived in the apt listed in Buenos Aires, when I first moved there it was a fairly quiet barrio but I knew it would become something much more popular, Palermo Viejo was back then very popular with foreigners so it was obvious the place to be was across the tracks.
I now live in Barcelona and think the area I live in is perfect, as it is very central without the negative aspects of the overly tourist areas around La Rambla etc.
Mercat de San Antoni has everything you need in terms of travel and amenities and you can stroll to the centre in 10 mins, or, in 15 mins you can walk in the other direction and find yourself close to Monjuic and the peace and greenery that it offers. I love going there to sit on the grass and read a book in the shade when it's very hot as not only is there plenty of grass and trees but you usually benefit from cool breezes as well.
