About This Listing
Bright and Airy Mid Century peaceful getaway with sprawling desert views.
Welcome to the Saguaro Hideaway! We fell in love with the tranquility and peace of this special land and its uniquely beautiful terrain. The property not only hosts Joshua trees and Yucca but it also has mature Saguaro cactus and Pine trees scattered throughout. There are two houses on the property. The Saguaro Hideaway main house has 2 bedrooms/1 bath and a huge bonus sun-room. Across the way is the Saguro Hideaway guesthouse which is a darling 1 bedroom free standing apartment with sprawling desert views. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/4504195 The houses rest on 5 acres of land with stunning desert and boulder views in every direction. *Please note this is a shared property. The two houses are separated by the driveway but are positioned in a way that creates privacy. Pick a window in the house and catch a gorgeous sunset cascading down the nearby mountain range or relax outside on the patio at night and get lost in the star filled sky.
The house is a charming mid century abode. It is decorated with vintage bohemian vibes. The house is a colorful nest with artful touches throughout, musical instruments, plants and books! Great for artists, writers and families. There is free wifi throughout the house ( it is not the fastest) cooking supplies, a blender, french press, and an outdoor BBQ. We also have an i pod dock for tunes and shampoo and conditioner in case you forget! Both bedrooms have queen size beds with mattress pads for comfy nights sleep. We also have a high end queen blow up mattress that can be used in the sunroom for additional friends. The living room has a wood burning stove that you are welcome to use on colder nights. Feel free to bring some fire wood and have a toasty cabin experience. During warmer days in the desert we have a swamp cooler to blow breezy cool air throughout the house.
While staying at the Saguaro Hideaway you may see a slew of wildlife on the premises. We have seen hawks and an owl in the nearby pine trees as well as quail, hummingbirds, jack rabbits, a tortoise, road runners, coyotes and yes a bobcat has visited the patio!
We are a 5 minute drive to the park entrance, another 5 minute drive into town, right up the hill from the Onaga Conservation Open Space Preserve, and a 20 minute drive to the famous Pappy and Harriet's. Also, while in town some other places worth visiting are the Integratron in Landers, Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Art Museum, Dhamma Dena, a Vipassana Buddhist center, and the Lou Garrison project for live music.
We hope you enjoy this beautiful property as much as we have and hope your stay at the Saguaro Hideaway is an unforgettable one. Please tell us a little about yourselves and your plans in Joshua Tree. We look forward to hearing from you.
*Please note: dogs visit the house but we DO NOT ALLOW PETS

The Saguaro Hideaway is very dear to us. During your stay we expect you to treat it with the same respect you would at your own house. There is no smoking indoors and no pets allowed. Other than that we hope you enjoy your time!
The Saguaro Hideaway was a perfect home away from home in the desert. The property was beautiful, and the land surrounding it was quintessential Joshua Tree. The house was bright and still cooled easily during the day. Malia and Jessica were great hostesses - a responsive duo and clear communicators. Would be happy to stay again!
Everything about this house and experience was perfect. Maila and Jessica were super friendly and responsive from the beginning. They answered all of our questions and made the process easy and fun.
The house is even more beautiful in person. Flooded with light, stylish furniture and everything you need to cook meals and enjoy your stay. It was hot over the weekend so we used the swamp cooler once and it made a big difference.
The grounds are gorgeous! So many interesting cactus varieties, minerals and more jack rabbits than we could count. I saw hummingbirds and owls too! Was just blown away by the beauty of their property.
The beds were comfy, the house was spotless. Totally felt like you were staying in your friends house. 25 minutes to the Integraton which is a must if you've never been.
Have already told everyone about this place and can't wait to go back! Thank you Maila and Jessica!
We had such a great time at the Hideaway! It was very clean, very peaceful, and easy to find. The weather was lovely and we really enjoyed watching the surprising amount of wildlife all around the property. We would definitely stay here again!
Saguaro Hideaway is simply amazing. You have to take a bit of an off beaten path to arrive at this perfectly tucked away desert home that really has spectacular views. One of the best parts of our stay was spending time in the backyard that seamlessly weaves itself into the desert surrounding. The beautiful cacti and landscape are amazing, but truly amazing paired with Malia and Jessica's beautiful home. I loved all the decor and the furnishings. There is ample light and it really feels like a nice getaway from the city. I would love to come back here. Highly recommend.
This home was wonderful, exactly like the photos. The neighborhood is remote enough that we felt like we had privacy. We could sit outside on the porch and see the star and the night sky and could not tell that there was anyone for miles, even though there were homes closer than a mile away. I would stay at this residence again. I would recommend it to friends! It was perfect!
The Saguaro Hideaway was exactly as pictured and was very clean when we arrived. The decor was great, the beds were comfy and the landscaping was just what we were looking for. The house is located 5 minutes from the National Park and felt very private. We had a great time on our trip and the entire transaction was very simple and easy. We can't wait to go back!
This is really a beautiful place. We stayed there for 3 days. The Kids loved this place and we were excited by the design of the House the Great views and the quick Drive to the park
