Stay in a peaceful quiet clean place while my roommate is away Thursday, April 2 - Saturday, April 7. Enjoy a spacious private room in a 2-bedroom house located in the lush tropical area of Haiku at the North shore of Maui. The house is on a second level, completely separate from downstairs unit. It has lots of windows and sunlight and a wrap- around balcony/lanai. It is located on a big beautiful property with palm trees and fruit trees. Its very quiet here. Parking is available.
The place has everything you need including laundry, Wi-Fi, a full size stove and oven, pots and pans, all cooking utensils, filtered water (reverse osmosis system), a blender, toaster, hair dryer etc. Sorry, there is no TV, microwave or coffee machine. Towels are provided. Shared bathroom. Feel free to hang out in the beautiful garden (shared with other tenants living on property).
The room is airy and spacious (9 x 19 feet) with comfortable queen side bed that can accommodate 1 or 2 people, bedside table, a lamp, a built-in closet and a private access to the balcony/lanai.
The house is located on the way to Hana, 5 min away from the Hana Highway. What I like about the location is that it is kind of between everything, including small towns of Haiku, Makawao, Pukalani, Kula and Paia. Driving distances: 10-15 minutes to downtown of Haiku, 10-15 minutes to Makawao, 15-20 minutes to Paia, 30 minutes to Kahului and the airport, 50 min to Kihei, 1+ hour to Lahaina and the West Side. There is a Hanzawa grocery store about 5 minutes away from here.
The closest beach is in Paia 15-20 minutes away. There are lots of hiking places in the area including Twin Falls 15 min away, bamboo forest 20 min away and the Garden of Eden 20 min away.
You are pretty much in the jungle here with traces of civilization. It is a beautiful green lush tropical area, very quiet, with beautiful views and walks. It's very safe here, I often go for a walk without locking the house.
I am a 33 year old female, clean, respectful, quiet and very conscious of other people. I own a small tea company. I have rented rooms on AirBnb myself and know how important it is to stay in a place where you can relax and have your peace while on vacation. I will do my best to ensure you have an enjoyable stay at my house.
You will need a car to get around. Let me know if you need recommendations of local car rental companies.
Please, non-smokers only.
Alena's fantastic hospitality and attention to detail started a week before we arrived. She sent Dennis and I amazing travel tips and directions including valuable information such as "what Google Maps doesn't tell you". We were delighted to be welcomed to the very spacious room with a lovely personalized note, amazing delicious tea from Alena's company, local macadamia nut chocolates, use of her Maui travel guidebook (thanks!), towels all set out and other information about everything we needed for our stay including laundry soap and washer/dryer at the house (which we didn't have time to use but were grateful to know it was there). Alena's house-mate is a fantastic person too, he made us feel very welcome in Maui. Haiku is hands down our favorite area in Maui....so un-touristy, lush rainforest, miles of organic farms and amazing hospitable people. Our tip for a memorable breakfast...buy some local fruits and banana bread and enjoy them along with Alena's tea on the private balcony which is off the bedroom. Just a magical place to start your day in Maui.
On the map Alena's place may look a little far from the main tourism hubs but in our rental car we found it to be very central and quick to all parts of the island. In 10-15 minutes of very scenic driving you can reach Paia, Makaweo, and Haiku; 25 minutes to Kihei or Kula; 40 minutes to Lahaina or Haleakala Crater; and 1 hour and 15 minutes to Hana. On every drive you'll see beautiful countryside homes, mystic mountains, ranches, fruit stands, farms, markets, food stands, or beaches!!!
We highly recommend Alena's place and hope we can come back again sometime in the next couple of years. Mahalo Alena!
staying as a guest at alenas place for a brief two weeks has made a profound and lasting impression on my life, I went to maui for a physical as well as a spiritual retreat, alenas kindness and willingness to assist me with local culture was unexpected but most appreciated contributing to a beyond successful retreat... oh and did I forget to mention that I now prepare and drink her wonderful tea daily it is healthy for my physical wellbeing and makes me smile, thank you alena !!
Alena has been a wonderful host during our stay. The room is clean with everything we need. She also provide free tea to all, which is really nice indeed.
I would definately recommend this locale. It was perfect. Perfect setting. Very secluded. Clean. Alena was awesome. Great communicator. Good directions gracious hostess.
Alena was a very good host. Everything was prepared for our stay. The communication was above average. And she helped us a lot to make the most of our stay. Her house is a little remote what we liked very much. Still it's kind of centered between Hana Highway and South Maui. The bedroom is huge and the house has everything you need, if you don't need a tv ;-)
I would highly recommend this AirBnB!
I had a great stay at Alena's.
Amazing place to stay. It has a beautiful garden . . I highly recommend this place ,if you want to have a wonderful time and feel yourself in contact with nature.
Alena is a very friendly and easy going host. The studio is very spacious and was equipped with everything I needed, and more! I would happily stay there again and highly recommend it.
I was so happy to have found this room. The house was clean and inviting. Room was comfortable, cozy and very quiet. The host Alena was super helpful with questions about the area and I felt comfortable. She helped to make my overnight trip to the Haiku area great. The location is beautiful, surrounded by lush green trees and is great for walks. I would definitely stay there again.
I am small business owner of a local Hawaiian tea company. I cannot imagine life without tea, and you won't either after staying in my house. I have tons of gourmet tea which you are free to drink while staying here.
Besides tea, I love yoga, tango, ping pong, meditation and traveling. My recent destination was Paris which I absolutely loved and will definitely visit again. India is on my to-do list.
If you are staying in my house, you are assured to have a relaxing stay in a quiet house with a very respectful and responsible host who is mindful of other people. After renting rooms on AirBnb myself, I know how important it is to have a peace of mind and a comfortable place while traveling, therefore, I will ensure you have that along with staying in a clean house with all the conveniences. You will also have a great company if you wish.
