I rent 2 double rooms in my own apartment in Amsterdam West (so not the entire place), near Erasmuspark and not far from city center and Jordaan district; major tram lines are just out of the door.
A sweet cat, Patzy, lives in the apartment as well.
2 cosy double guest rooms in a flat in Amsterdam West (so not the entire apartment), near the pretty Erasmus Park, not in the center but very close, 15 minutes by tram/bus from/to DAM and Central Station.
20 minutes walking to Jordaan district, home to many art galleries, particularly for modern art, and is also dotted with speciality shops and restaurants, is very closed. There are also some pretty good restaurants and caaffés in the neighborhood.
Tram and bus lines are just out of the door, n. 14 to Jordaan (10 min), Dam (15 min) and Amsterdam Oost, n. 12 to Vondelpark (10min), Museumplein (15 min) and Sloterdijk (8 min, connection to Schiphol airport), n. 13 to Central Station (20 min).
The apartment is in the 2nd floor of a typical Amsterdam building with a typical steep Amsterdam staircase, be aware of that when coming with big suitcases.
One room is with 2 twin beds, the other one with one double bed.
Check-in after 2.00 pm, check-out before 11.00 am.
I live in the apartment, kitchen and bathroom are shared with me and eventually with other guests. Small breakfast is available in the morning for a good start, coffee (nespresso), milk, tea, orange juice, pain au lair.
When making a reservation please send a message with a brief description of yourself and reason for the trip.
NB: Please let me know arrival time and flight number at least 2 days earlier, I'm not always home and we need to agree a specific time. Also please let me know in case of delays.
Smoking and bringing marihuana and hachis is not allowed. If you are interested on that, please consider another listing. I am allergic and the smell makes me sick, moreover I had bad experience with guests coming back stoned to the apartment.
Tip: after making the reservation, print the confirmation to have useful information and map (website hidden): I have a cat, if you are allergic to cats, it would be better to consider a different accomodation.
Guests have access to kitchen, shower and living room, however kitchen and living room can be used till 9pm.
I will be present at the listing in most of the cases. After showing the apartment and explaining few things guests are required to register in the guest book and leave an id copy, I can make the copy myself. Then guests will have their key and will be free to come and go as they like.
The listing is located in Amsterdam west, between Bos en Lommer and De Baarsjes, few minutes from the pretty Erasmuspark and 15 minutes walking from Jordaan district. There are different restaurant and cafes in the neighbourhood, including a "Bagel and Beans" just few minutes away.
Main tram/bus lines connecting to city center and main train stations (in 10-20 minutes) are just out of the door, walking to te center is also possible, it takes 20/30 minutes.
Be aware there is a cat living in the apartment, in case of allergies.
The street can be quite noisy sometime when keeping the windows open, so the place is not the best for people with sleeping problems, especially in summertime.
We had a good time staying Michele 'a house. He helped us to print out some train tickets. And never got annoyed when we came back late:)) he prepared for us breakfast everyday and you can just have time for yourself. Tidy and clean. Nice connection with tram. 15 mins from train station.
The best thing about Michele's house was that it was like being at home away from home. Room was clean and spacious, toilet was impeccably tidy. Patsy the cat was such a charming host as well. The house was slightly outside of the city centre but reachable via bike/bus/ tram. The tram/ bus stops are only minutes away from the house. Highly recommended.
My friend and I had such a great stay in Amsterdam! The location was great (conveniently close to a tram stop), Michele was extremely friendly (he had coffee, orange juice, and brioche buns for us every morning), and the room was plenty of space for the two of us. Thanks so much Michele!
Clean apartment, close to the center ( 30 min walk or 15 min with the bus) and well equipped kitchen.
The little cat was very attached.
we had a nice stay in micheles house, he was a great, uncomplicated host. the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom were very clean, there was enough space for both of us. there is a small supermarket and the bus station next to his place. next time we go to amsterdam, we would like to stay at his house again!
Michele is such a gracious host. He is very thoughtful in laying out everything that one might need, including staples like coffee and tea, and providing advice on how to get around. We stayed a number of days which were pretty busy because of a conference, but he was always available if we had any questions.
The room and bathroom were clean. The beds were good and the location not too noisy. Michele was friendly and easy as a host. Only the breakfast was a little weak, just coffee and brioche. So that could be optimized:)
So clean room and good location( by tram )! and then not noisy!
Specially, Patsy is very cute and friendly :)
Nice location. Clean room and bathroom! Had a good time with Michele.
Everything perfect, the house was very clean, we took the separate beds room which is right in front of the entrance of the house so it's very comfortable for everyone. The neighbourhood is close to Leiseplein, just what we were looking for. I recommend this house to everyone !
