House Rules

We believe in responsible, mindful, educated travellers.
Our main rule? ~;+) mindfulness IS happiness ~;+)
We have set up a few IMPORTANT points, inspired by experience. Kindly please read.
— Compulsory, upon arrival: a HARD copy of each passport's relevant pages (including children) for Police declaration, for all foreigners (NO Xerox machine, no printer at our office, sorry...).
— Spring Mineral JUG dispenser (20L) use it for tea-coffee-washing fruit/veggies – preparing meals – and much BETTER than buying single-use plastic bottles; price is 25K Rp, pls settle on arrival, leave payment on the table, thk U.
- BREAKFAST: self service - consists of: • Tea, Bali grown Coffee (not 'instant'), creamer, sugar
- Mindfulness is about respect and consideration of others and of the environment Please share our ECO-FRIENDLY approach:
- - Switch OFF lights AND fans before going out!
- - Be conservative with your use of WATER, a very precious resource here.
- - Washing your clothes in the accommodation is NOT allowed. => Contact us for your Laundry
- • We RECYCLE Metal cans, glass & PLASTIC bottles: keep them SEPARATE from other garbage
- - Our soap is diluted, to LIMIT toxic, harmful waste in our homes, ground water, rivers and streams.
- - Smoking is allowed OUTSIDE only. NOT in the room. Please dispose your cigarettes in an ashtray, NOT in the garden.
- PETS: We love them. Yet we reserve the right to allow them on the property. Kindly please TALK TO US first.
- SAFETY: Our place is very safe. Nevertheless, we advise our guests to act in a responsible way:
- - Lock your door & Main Gate, close your windows whenever going out.
- - keep your valuables INSIDE a cabinet, rather than in plain sight..
- - OPEN FLAMES (candles, incense, oil burners, gas cooker...) : NEVER leave them unattended for obvious safety reasons, for yourself & others. Make sure to keep them on a METAL/GLASS plate.
- - WATER HEATER is already set up: please do not change it - if need be, contact us asap, our Maintenance man will do it.
- - Bring your OWN FLASH LIGHT with you when coming or going after dark. - there are about 30 STEPS to access the Jungalow, nothing "athletic", and there is a railing to hold on to.
- - Be aware that PATHWAYS AND STEPS can be SLIPPERY. Moss, mold, rain, etc, can be expected. Stay FOCUS & AWARE.
- ELECTRICITY, Water, Internet service: While these are all currently active in the listing, from time to time there can be a LAPSE in their accessibility due to the more primitive infrastructure of services on the island. Nothing can be done about this and does NOT constitute a valid reason for cancelling with the expectation of a refund. We appreciate your understanding regarding this.
- - USEFUL INFOS: - Our employees are OFF from 2PM - AirBnB hosting is NOT like staying at a Hotel:
- - NO 24/7 Reception Desk open for a welcome service; Owner and employees do NOT live on-site
- - Always mention your ARRIVAL TIME so KEYS can be organised for you
- - Make sure to use our OWN drivers rather than an unknown taxi (Addresses in Bali rarely have a clear Nr mentioned on the street)
- - Our own driver knows all the short cuts, the KEYS, the lights, our private contact Nr.
- - These advices are meant to assist you, specially if you are a new comer in Bali and S/E Asia... and remain of course entirely up to you.

The Jungalow was as described. Definitely has a different feel to it than renting a room in a villa in the city(I mean this in a positive way). The place had a kitchen an all of the things you need to cook for yourself. The bathroom was clean. The daybed can't really be considered as a legitimate bed that someone could sleep overnight. You definitely need a bike or a car for hire to get into town. The communication with the host was good. Overall a positive experience!

It was so lovely staying at the Jungalow and we really enjoyed waking up in the jungle every morning, enjoying balinese coffee (yum!). The natural orchestra of the Jungle surrounding the house is magnificent. All the communication was very easy and prompt, and the staff is really friendly and everyone is trying to help with any problems. Thank you to everyone. We'd always come back, when in Bali.

The location of the jungalow is really beautiful, also the view. But it didn't seem to be cleaned for a longer time. The bed and towels smelled and were not fresh. And the communication was quiet unpersonal.

Response from Tini:
THE JUNGALOW was of course cleaned by our two House Keepers before the guests check in! The bedlinen and towels come straight from the laundry - however, this year we had A LOT of rain, that lasted until very late in the season. This means that there is up to 89% humidity, it affects the freshness of the rooms and linen. UBUD is damp and humid, the JUNGALOW is overlooking jungle and Rain Forest, this can be expected, but it is NOT dirty.

Amazing loft, stunning view and jungle sounds. Loved staying here, just outside Ubud and once you enter the loft you're completely away from the outside world. Much more space than I expected, everything you need. You do need a motorbike to get to Ubud and it is an amazing way to get around in the beautiful surroundings of Ubud. Wow... just amazing!

"Much more space than I expected" we really do appreciate your comment as we sometimes have guests who said "it doesn't quite look as on the photos" Yet the pictures have been done by AIRBNB's official photographer, No Photoshop, no artificial lightnings.. The "stunning view and jungle sounds" indeed do NOT appear on the photos, hehe! Thanks for being such a positive and appreciative guest -

Amazing property in amazing location. The photos on Airbnb don't do it justice! Perfect peace and quiet, only the sounds of the river and jungle. Would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants the real Ubud Bali experience.

To stay at the Jungalow was an awesome experience! It is located near the jungle and you have an awesome view when looking out of the windows! Furthermore, there is a big kitchen, a beautiful bathroom and enough space for a bunch of people! The Jungalow is clean and beautiful and if you want to have good time, with nobody disturbing you, I would totally recommend staying there. Tini is a very helpful person as well. When we asked to bring another person, she arranged one more mattress for us, so our friend was also able to stay at the Jungalow and she also gave us very helpful advice on how to find the place. Thanks for this experience!

Response from Tini:
BERND and his friends have been fun hosting, young energy, smart guys, no fuss - with BERND leading his team, acting as coordinator-cum-communicator, bravo. Thanks for appreciating the "awesome views" overlooking Jungle and River valley, the Tree Top Loft Jungalow rated as "clean and beautiful", with its "big kitchen", and the "Very helpful" staff.. Thanking you for awarding us a FIVE STAR rating: it feels really nice to see our efforts being acknowledged ~;>)

This was the most magical place I stayed in all of Bali. As soon as I walked in it felt like home. The Windows filled the rooms with light, the decorations were so well considered, the backyard was perfect for tea and meditation overlooking the jungle. The ceiling is thin though! The people above me arrived late at night and began to rearrange furniture! Even with the noise, I felt like I wanted to move in! It's further from Central Ubud than I thought, but well worth it. Make sure you have a scooter (and can drive it well) or get the number of someone who can scooter taxi you to the city, or just sit back and relax without going to Ubud. There are a lot of stairs (I enjoyed, my partner did not) and it felt like I was really in Bali. Past our residence there were more stairs that led through overgrown plants and down to the river. There were no tourists there, and even small open gazebos for meditation over the hillside. It was absolute and pure magic. I look forward to staying here again the next time I come to Bali.

Response from Tini:
THE "most magical place" in bali ! this is indeed a great compliment and rejoices our hearts... we are more than happy to see that our guests love the AYUNG RIVER banks: true, no tourists there, open gazebos to take a rest and contemplate the view... Scooters are the easiest way to explore Ubud, its cheap and takes you not only to town (10Min away) for a lovely dinner, a performance or else - but also to the rice terraces, temples, waterfalls - some people even go up to the volcano or the beach side, about 1Hr away!

I am a Balinese woman married with two young sons; I work as a Cook, House Keeper and Masseuse, so that keeps me busy...
My husband used to work on cruise boats, his English is quite good, he is a driver and takes care of the Scooters.
We are a great Team!
As a small family business, we like to make our guests enjoy their stay, making sure the house is clean, the garden trimmed, transport organized safely.

We are more than happy to welcome you here!
