About this listing
Villa Nirvana is a haven of tranquility in Ubud, the cultural, artistic and spiritual capital of Bali. It is secluded and surrounded by lush greenery, yet is just a 15 minute walk from the centre of town. No cars are allowed in the immediate vicinity, so it's super-quiet. But we have golf buggies to ferry you and your luggage.
There are six villas in all (each can sleep 2), and three private pools. This villa can therefore accommodate 12 guests and upto 15 with extra beds. This listing is for the entire villa complex of six luxurious bedrooms. If you would like to book individual rooms, please check my other listings. There is complimentary golf buggy to take guests to the pick up/drop point as four wheelers are not permitted in Penestanan
Friendly staff , free wifi and a fabulous restaurant overlooking a gorge make Villa Nirvana probably one of the best deals you can find in Ubud. There are picturesque walks nearby (check out the pics) and the cutest new-age village you'll see.
If you want to do yoga, there's a studio a 3 minute walk away that offers classes by the hour. Or you can do it in Villa Nirvana itself - there is space for yoga groups of upto 16.
You can also have massages every day.
Airport pickup and drop off is available. Tours around Bali (with driver) can also be arranged. If you happen to be in Ubud already, come and check it out. If you can't stay overnight, have a meal or a drink at the restaurant and enjoy the view of the forest and the gorge.
There are six villas. Each villa sleeps 2 adults.Villa prices INCLUDE government tax of 11 percent and service charge of 10 percent and breakfast. for 12 persons
While two guests per villa is normal, we can provide an extra bed for a third at no extra charge.
Normally check-in is after 2 pm and check-out is by 12 noon, but we can be flexible about this to accommodate to flight timings if there are no other bookings for your room that day. Guests are welcome to bring in food and drinks from the outside - but we highly recommend the in-house River Cafe, which is hard to beat for either quality or price. Airport pickup and drop off is available at Rupiah 250,000 (about US$30) each way. Transport is also available for city tours and sightseeing. Bicycles and motorcycles can be hired. Pets are not allowed on the property. For more details please visit our (email hidden)

The villa was as described, in a very tranquil and quiet setting, about 1.5 hour's drive from the airport. The rooms were clean and tastefully appointed. The staff were helpful, pleasant and eager to please. They were a pleasure to interact with and we were happy with them. The charges for additional massages and services were also generally fair.
However, one aspect marred our trip for us. On the first night of our stay, we met a taxi driver who offered us a good rate for a whole day booking of two taxis for the next day (800,000IDR). We thought it was a better deal than the villa's stated rate for one taxi (US$50). However, to our shock, without checking with us and without our instructions, the villa arranged for their own taxi driver to bring us around for the next day. What followed was 15 mins of wrangling between two groups of drivers, which was a waste of time and unpleasant for us to sit through. In the end, we had to go with the villa's taxi driver at the same rate we offered the other driver. What topped it off was that this driver insisted on bringing us to his "recommended" water sports place in Nusa Dua where we were charged excessively for our water sports (we found out after the fact through comparison with brochures at the airport). He even boasted that we got a "discount" since he brought us there. Who knows what other "discounts" we would have enjoyed if we hadn't politely rejected his insistent suggestions that we dine at a restaurent he knew Jimbaran.
We took it as a lesson in avoiding tourist traps, but the entire episode could have been avoided if the villa had inquired if we needed a taxi first and respected our wishes. We did make very clear on our last night that we have engaged the other driver to take us to the airport, which passed without event and was also cheaper than the villa's driver.
Villa Nirvana was amazing! The staff there were super welcoming and their service was excellent! The Villa itself was a small little community that was secluded but we were able to walk to the Ubud market and other places. There's also an awesome yoga studio about 5 mins away. The villa that we stayed in was great! Very clean and having the pool there was nice to have on those hot, humid nights. The River Cafe was nice to have to enjoy our breakfasts and dinners when we didn't feel like leaving the area. I would definietly stay here again if I ever come back to Ubud. The staff truly cared about our visit from the email communications prior to our visit, right up to the moment that we left. They even left me a birthday care in our room! Thank you Villa Nirvana for making our stay in Ubud, Bali the best ever!
We really enjoyed our stay at Vee's villa. The location is outstanding as well as the helpfulness and positive approach of the staff.
A really nice place to stay. Excellent customer service, with a genuine wish to help you have a nice stay. Organized scooter, baby-sitter, in house massage, and every day we returned to a beautifully made up room and clean sheets... Could not ask for more! Highly recommended.

About the Host, Vee
Hello, I'm a writer and I own Villa Nirvana, which is a boutique hotel in Bali. It is professionally managed (I could never do it myself!) and the team, led by seasoned hotelier Dean, does a fabulous job . I like meeting people who have a love of life and great stories, wherever they might come from . I travel moderately myself, preferring to stay in small boutique-type establishments that have a unique charm, rather than the conventional five star chains.
I don't live in Bali, so I will not personally be your host at Villa Nirvana - though I'll be lucky to be visiting while you're there. But the staff are wonderful and will treat you like family - check out the site for what other guests have had to say. Hope you do go and have a great stay.
My life motto: we're here to learn about ourselves, through our lives and the lives of others.
