Interaction with Guests

Ballygarrett is a small village situated between two larger holiday villages. This makes Ballygarrett very appealing as we have both the secluded beaches of Old Bawn and Cahore and the amenities of the larger villages of Kilmukridge and Courttown. We are within 20mins drive of Gorey which boasts many fantastic restaurants shops and a weekly farmers market. Wells House is nearby for Clay Pigeon shooting, Falconry, Archery and much more. Ballygarrett and the local area has recently been used to film "The Sea" written by John Banville. "Saving Private Ryan" was filmed in Curracloe Beach a short drive from here. Wexford Town which hosts the International Wexford Opera Festival is about a 40 minute drive.
You will generally need your own transport to get around the area. However there is a frequent bus service to Dublin from Gorey and there is also a train from Gorey.

We started our trip to Ireland at Edel's and we picked the perfect place. The warmth and generosity of Edel's nature are reflected in the welcome and accommodations she provides. The suite is perfect, beautifully decorated, and immaculate. Lots of hot water and a very comfortable bed. Because of the central location, it is close to many interesting places. We loved the walk to the beach each morning. We also greatly appreciated the flexibility of being able to check in early. Another big plus was having food provided - eggs, bread, milk, butter, tea and coffee - so we could have a good meal when we arrived. Edel provided lots of suggestions as to where to go and what to see. Our favorite time was going to the local pub and listening to the young people play music together. This is a wonderful place to stay, and a wonderful family. A special shout out to Arthur, one of the most adorable dogs I've ever met.
Sehr schöner Urlaub in toller Unterkunft, do recommend!
We really enjoyed our stay at Edel's loft. It was comfortable, clean and spacious enough for a couple to enjoy. Tastily decorated with lovely views of the fields and surrounding countryside. Good value for money. Horses in the neighbouring field and a very friendly dog in the garden. Close proximity to the beach with a small and quaint village nearby. Edel and her husband were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Edel even allowed us to checkout late on our departure date.
Edel and her husband made our stay extreme comfortable, when we arrived it was nice to be greeted with a friendly smile. Also it was very welcoming that Edel had gone to the trouble of getting us a starter pack (milk eggs bread butter). Edel also took the time to ask and check if we were ok with everything during our stay. Edel was a lovely host friendly and hopefully we will be returning for another stay to watch out onto the beautiful settings that the accomodation was set in .
We had a great experience at Adele's in Ballygarrett. She and her husband Jim were wonderful hosts. We will return. Thank you Adele.
A beautiful place to stay. Quiet and private. Yes, the homemade bread was wonderful! Close to the sea and in a quiet scenic neighborhood. Felt safe enough for a long walk to the beach. You won't be disappointed.
About the Host, Edel
I moved to Ballygarrett from Dublin 8 years ago. My husband Jim and I have 3 boys. We live in the house in Ballygarrett and converted the space over the garage into a one bedroom loft apartment for visitors. We have a red cocker spaniel called "Arthur". I was born and lived in Dublin up to moving to Ballygarrett and can provide my guests with valuable information on how to get around the city. Jim is a keen cyclist and is a member of Audax Ireland. He will be able to give you cycle routes around Wexford and other parts of Ireland. As we live in the house we are always at hand for any queries.
