Interaction with Guests
As we live in the main house we are there 90% of the time if guests need anything.
Ballygarrett is a small village situated between two larger holiday villages. This makes Ballygarrett very appealing as we have both the secluded beaches of Old Bawn and Cahore and the amenities of the larger villages of Kilmukridge and Courttown. We are within 20mins drive of Gorey which boasts many fantastic restaurants shops and a weekly farmers market. Wells House is nearby for Clay Pigeon shooting, Falconry, Archery and much more. Ballygarrett and the local area has recently been used to film "The Sea" written by John Banville. "Saving Private Ryan" was filmed in Curracloe Beach a short drive from here. Wexford Town which hosts the International Wexford Opera Festival is about a 40 minute drive.
You will generally need your own transport to get around the area. However there is a frequent bus service to Dublin from Gorey and there is also a train from Gorey.
Other Things to Note
The price includes linen and towels and a welcome pack of milk, butter, bread, Tea and Coffee
I expect guests to keep the accommodation clean and not damage the property. We do not allow pets. With respect to future guests smoking is not allowed on the premises. The accommodation is for a maximum of 2 adults. There are no children allowed.
The loft was superb and as beautiful as in the pictures. With the little kitchenette the loft really has everything you need and the bread, butter and eggs provided by Edel really saved us on our first night as it took us a bit longer than expected to find Ballygarrett. The area around the flat was also wonderful, green meadows, horses and sheep as far as the eye could see. It is conveniently located for day trips around the Southeast of Ireland. Exactly what we needed to step out of our hectic day to day life for a week.
Edel is a perfect host, she was very friendly and kind. The apartment was super clean and cosy, everything was there!
All in all we had a very nice time, every time again :)
This was the perfect place to stay for our first trip to Ireland. The loft was as lovely as suggested in the pictures and very clean.
We felt very welcomed by Edel. She even provided us with some bread, butter and eggs.
Thank you again.
Edel was a wonderful host and we were very impressed overall. The place exceeded our expectations! The loft is private, quiet and very peaceful which was just what we wanted. The sea is not far which was so appealing. We were made to feel very welcome and Edel was there to help when we needed her advice. The place has a small tv and wifi included as well as plenty of leaflets and maps on the local area.
Alles war sehr genau für uns vorbereitet und die Wohnung modern und sehr sauber.
What a great place! Clean and spacious with a friendly host. This was a great place to stay for our first two nights in Ireland. Close to beaches and nice and quiet. Edel left delicious eggs and bread for us!Just wish the Internet worked!
Great communication and very quick response to any of our questions before arriving and during the stay. The Loft is really clean, modern and well looked after with super comfortable bed.
The host left us lovely bread, milk, eggs in the fridge which was very nice.
The recommended places for breakfast and dinners were excellent and the box full of leaflets, information and maps was very helpful too.
We loved the location as we wanted to get away from the city and spend some nice, quiet time close to the beach.
The beach that is 15min walk from the house is beautiful and not crowded at all which made it perfect for us.
We would definitely come back.
I moved to Ballygarrett from Dublin 8 years ago. My husband Jim and I have 3 boys. We live in the house in Ballygarrett and converted the space over the garage into a one bedroom loft apartment for visitors. We have a red cocker spaniel called "Arthur". I was born and lived in Dublin up to moving to Ballygarrett and can provide my guests with valuable information on how to get around the city. Jim is a keen cyclist and is a member of Audax Ireland. He will be able to give you cycle routes around Wexford and other parts of Ireland. As we live in the house we are always at hand for any queries.
