Welcome to the Coho Cabin, a tiny house/log cabin perched atop Skagit Bay with direct westerly waterfront views of wildlife, Whidbey Island and the Olympic Mts. Built in 2012, it's an authentic log cabin, custom designed out of Alaskan Yellow Cedar. Enjoy the rustic-yet-elegant vibe, radiant-heated stone floors, outdoor BBQ, cozy loft bed and private location. Located 10 min. west of La Conner, guests can browse shops, adventure on unique hikes, or enjoy a relaxing beach stroll.

The space
******** IMPORTANT INFORMATION: At this time the cabin is nearly fully booked through July (about 3 months). If you are interested you could check back on May 10th at which time a very limited number of dates will be made available. Only a few days at a time are opened due to the uncertainty of the covid-19 pandemic. I realize this system can make planning difficult and I apologize for any inconvenience. ********

Guest access
There are dimmer lights throughout the interior and exterior of the cabin, adding to the cozy atmosphere. An electric fireplace enhances the ambiance and provides extra warmth. The fold-out sofa/chair bed (twin sized) offers an additional sleeping space for a third guest - otherwise, it's a great place to curl up with a book! A small table is provided for board games, office work, and a bigger indoor eating spot.

The kitchen comes complete with cookware, utensils, plates, glassware, etc. Within the kitchen is a two-burner gas stove, toaster oven, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, blender, electric mixer, toaster and a built-in "Sub-Zero" fridge/freezer. Enjoy your meals from the mini eating bar, which looks out over the water. Or, there is also a table with chairs that you can set up for meals. Outside the cabin, by the patio, is a cooking area with a large BBQ.

Climb up the ladder to the sleeping loft and you'll find a queen-sized bed with down pillows, soft linens, and cozy comforters. A wrought iron railing provides added safety.

After a long day of exploring relax in the stone and glass shower, then step out onto the warm, radiant-heated floors that are found throughout the cabin.

The Coho Cabin also has a large wrap-around covered porch/patio that's a favorite among guests. There's a comfy chair and a long couch with plenty of pillows and extra-large blankets to make things cozy. The view of the water, islands and mountains is a real treat whether you are relaxing on the patio or resting in the hammock. If you'd like to have your meals outdoors there is also a bamboo chair and table set under the covered patio. Or, you could use the table and chairs that sit outside on the grassy area on the other side of the cabin.

Directly in front of the cabin is the staircase down to the beach, which is available to guests. The stairs have 4 different landings, each one providing a seating area to enjoy the water views at different levels. Please note that the stairs are steep and can be very slippery when wet. These stairs are also shared with the neighbor (the pathway is outside of the fenced area surrounding the cabin). The beach is used by other beachfront home owners, but it isn't publicly available. Quite often you can stroll on the beach without seeing any other people. It's also on the rocky side, so bring good shoes if you plan to go exploring!

Other things to note
Please be aware that the cabin does not have a TV, washer/dryer, dishwasher, bathtub (has large shower) or full-size oven (has toaster oven, two burner stove, microwave and large outdoor barbecue). Has a refrigerator and freezer.

Location

La Conner, Washington, United States

The Coho Cabin is 10 minutes from the historic waterfront town of La Conner which sits on the saltwater Swinomish Channel. There are many unique shops offering a great variety of goods both local and from around the world. Nearly all of the shops are along the waterfront and are within walking distance of each other. There are numerous restaurants to choose from also. La Conner has only one grocery/hardware store, the Pioneer Market - open 7AM-10PM daily. If you need a 24-hour store you will find a Safeway in the town of Anacortes, a 20 minute drive from the cabin. Just outside of Anacortes is the ferry terminal (30 minutes from the Coho Cabin) that takes you to the San Juan Islands and Victoria, B.C., Canada. Also outside of Anacortes is the Swinomish Casino, less than a 20 minute drive away. Mt Vernon and Burlington, which are on the I-5 corridor (25-30 minutes from the Coho Cabin) offer your standard variety of stores... Costco, Fred Meyer, Safeway, Haggen, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, Subway, McDonalds, Olive Garden, Kohls, Marshalls, Target, Best Buy, Petco, Petsmart and many others.
