This is a beautiful spot to relax, spend time in nature, and take time to smell the flowers. The Waterfall Victorian Tiny House is available from May through October. The falls fill the air with a musical symphony as they splash all over the rocks in their watery play. They may lull you into a tranquil sleep. The Tiny House is nestled among gardens overlooking the falls with acres of daylilies, iris, lily of the valley and peonies. A good jump off to Bangor, for concerts, to Acadia Ntl Park.

The space
The Tiny House: The combination of this adorable three-story Victorian-style Tiny house nestled in amongst abundant flower gardens at the edge of the forest overlooking the waterfalls, sets the stage for a wonderful stay in this natural setting. It's a great place to immerse yourself in nature and have a romantic weekend getaway. If you need space for one or two more people please see the listing for the Waterfall Cabin as it is a guest cabin next to the tiny house with a comfy couch bed that sleeps two.

This sunny cottage is delightfully cheery. The air and water here are clean; the atmosphere is filled with the sounds of nature. The tiny turret has bay windows letting light flow throughout the house. There are somewhat steep tiny house stairs leading up to the bedroom and down to the bathroom on the ground floor where there also is a tiny door that opens to the forest to admire the waterfalls. Imagine returning in mid-October to enjoy the changing autumn colors. The waterfalls flow year-round; in winter they create spectacular ice formations.

The main floor is a tiny house kitchen, living room with a cozy couch. Once the early morning sun comes over the hill it streams in creating a cherry ambiance. When you stand at the kitchen sink you will have a view of the upper waterfalls when they are flowing abundantly.

Fresh organically grown produce is available upon request for reasonable prices.

Close by is The Waterfall Cabin with a more rustic atmosphere and a Maine moose motif & comfy couch bed, three West facing windows allowing plenty of light into the cabin. The falls can be seen and heard from the cabin.

In Monroe: we are slightly off the beaten path allowing you to enjoy the Coastal activities while staying in a very quiet rural setting. We are 15 miles from Belfast where you will find the Hills to Sea Trail starting from the town walking bridge. Here in Monroe, we have the Northern Pond hiking trail. Acadia National Park is just a 1hr and 16 min. drive. Along your way DownEast, you will find the Fort Knox and Penobscot Narrows Observatory which is the tallest in the Northern Hemisphere. The Camden Hills are 46 minutes away to the South East.

Guest access
The waterfalls are just 250 feet downhill from the cottage, are easily accessed by a trail near the old bridge. You can enjoy peaceful mornings wandering through the gardens, sitting on the rocks near the falls, swimming, sitting in chairs outside the house taking in the falls and the flowers altogether, or walking along the trails in the surrounding forest.

ShabdSangeet and the kitties have not been here very long; this is just the second season in our tiny paradise. Last year I kept an eye out to see what kinds of flowers were growing throughout the overgrown gardens. I wanted to preserve the existing gardens, so I just watched, noting which flowers grow where. So far this spring the snowdrops have been blooming for about 6 weeks, there two varieties little blue lilies and a few purple and yellow crocus scattered about along with many clumps of daffodils here and there, much to my delight.

Discoveries are still being unearthed and restoration is underway. The first year about 30 bushy pine trees, which had invaded, were cut down to allowing the daylilies to begin flourishing once again. Historically, this was the Hermitage Gardens where the once well-known horticulturist, Phil White lived. He was known up and down the New England Coast for his unique daylilies, iris, and peony varieties. People would come here to spend the whole day, purchase bulbs, stroll among the many gardens and picnic near the waterfalls.

The spring of 2020 has so far seen a more thorough removal of brush early in the season in between snowstorms. Rambling old grapevines have been cut, some were relocated in hopes of them growing as living fences, while some will be used to weave into fences around some garden areas. During the process of collecting old fall leaves for the compost piles, an old stepping stone path through daffodils and daylilies below the Waterfall Cabin was discovered, how delightful!

Just as the gardens were about tidied from brush up we had 15 inches of heavy wet snowfall. There were many cracks, creaking and snapping sounds throughout the night, along with loss of power for a week. This resulted in a new mess of broken trees tops and branches and then some new inspiration for the vegetable garden; Hugelkultur! This is a big project, old and rotting logs, branches, compost, soils, hay, manure piled and arranged just so. This is like a water sponge, a great habitat for an abundant garden. In late May this is still a work in progress along with some planted mounds.

My name is ShabdSangeet. I love flowers so I studied botany. I also love gardening, mountaineering, wilderness adventures. I am trained as a Reiki Master. I was inspired to make Flower Essences (Dancing Light Orchid Essences) since the 1980s. I am trained as a Functional Medicine Health Coach and practice living a healthy lifestyle so I can walk my talk. I moved from Alaska to Maine in 2018. I have spent much of my life studying all things floral, exploring the wilderness in the far north, and learning how to live peacefully among bears and other wild creatures in their wild habitats. I often marvel at this amazing little slice of heaven I find my selves on. There are acres of myriad varieties of daylilies blooming all around us. It is quite spectacular. One can't live without good health so a lot of effort goes into growing my own organic fruits and vegetables. When the garden really gets going I love to make fresh juice in the morning with a rainbow of colorful fruits and veggies. I value having good health and so design my lifestyle to ensure I can eat homegrown food and use my muscles each day. I ride my bike, hike. I love the quiet of nature and was were thrilled to find such a special place like this! When you stay I may offer you something fresh from the garden. You will most likely see me working around my 'farmlette', and I am available to answer questions and share conversation.
