The Space

Arc en Ciel is located in a very typical, small French village that spills into the fields of Normandy, on the Normandy/Brittany border.

10 minutes from Pontorson, 15 minutes from the Abbey of Mont St Michel, 20 minutes from the American Cemetery in St James. CLOSE to Bayeaux and the D Day Beaches.

COUNTLESS day trips abound from the Beaches to San Malo, Dinan, Fougeres and the Brittany coast. You will enjoy your time away, and return at the end of the day to the peace of the garden.

Our village is QUIET! There is no commerce here; closest full-service towns are Antrain, St James and Pontorson, for full commerce and restaurants.

Directly across from the village church, we are away from it all and yet central to everything.

We are opening our entire home this season for weekly lets.

Two single townhouses that are now one, our spacious home can accommodate two couples very comfortably.

  • Ani and Liam live in a very quiet and charming place. So, even if it was a short stay,it was very pleasant to spend time here.
We were warm welcomed and ate a wonderful breakfast !
Plus, Ani and Liam's house is ideally located. You can easily visit Granville, le Mont-Saint-Michel but also Cancale and Saint-Malo.
So, it was a very pleasant experience !

  • Ani and Liam were wonderful hosts. Despite our late arrival, Liam greeted us warmly and helped direct us toward Mont St Michel for that breathtaking night-light view. The house was charming and welcoming, clean and cozy. The bathtub was simply fabulous - perfect to relax after a long day. The breakfast was the most delicious I had in France. Thank you both for the lovely stay!

  • It was awesomely good! Liam and Ani were the perfect hosts. Beautiful room, house, village and breakfast. We even got a free astronomy lesson while gazing at the meteor showers :)

  • This house really has a positive energy, or as Ani said "it sings its own song". I rarely slept so well, with the nearby church bells waking me softly. It is also perfectly located to visit Mont St. Michel, but still in a very quiet and cosy village on the countryside. The room emanates a rustic charm, while the free standing bathtub is just incredible. Ani also made the best breakfast I had in France, with croissants, eggs, fruits, müesli, yoghurt, orange juice and coffee. I would definitely come again.

  • We had a wonderful one-night stay with Ani and Liam. As others have said, they are the ideal hosts - warm, welcoming, and discreet - going above and beyond to help make sure our trip went smoothly. The house is really charming, situated in the center of a quaint little village very close to Le Mont-St-Michel, and the room was very relaxing. Breakfast was great, too! We highly recommend staying here!

  • Ani and Liam are probably the best hosts I've encountered, AirBNB or otherwise! Their home is charming and comfortable, the room is spacious, and the breakfasts are over and above

PS: Liam pretty much has a bike shop attached to the house and really knows the area for cycling.

    Would highly recommend!

  • Staying with Liam and Ani was an absolute joy. Their home is the perfect country retreat. The house is surrounded by the peaceful Normandy countryside, but there are many lovely villages near by. Both the bedroom and bathroom are spacious, clean and comfortable. Liam and Ani are natural hosts. We received a warm welcome upon our arrival and were made to feel at home for the duration of our stay. In addition to the wonderful breakfasts, Liam and Ani went above and beyond by providing several surprise snacks and treats throughout our visit. They were very concerned that we saw the best of the area, and provided fantastic recommendations. Ani even made a dinner reservation for us. We are very glad to have met Liam and Ani, and strongly recommend their home to anyone travelling in Normandy or Brittany.

We are Irish American, and have owned our home for over nine years. We LOVE 'here' in the peaceful and rejuvenating countryside, close enough to everything and yet 'off the grid.' Liam is an avid cyclist and considers this region one of the best areas for cycling. I create boutique tours for the Paris area and for the South of France. What can't we live without? Authentic quality of exchange with good people, good friends, peace of heart and mind, and the quietude of the campagne.
