Phillip was an excellent communicator during my trip planning process. He always answered my questions within 24 hours. This house was a fantastic place to stay in Ouray! After reading the prior review for this home, I thought that the reviewer might have been pretty tough to please. I messaged Paul and asked him if that minor issues that the prior reviewer mentioned had been addressed, and he quickly responded with a reassuring "Yes". Boy was I RIGHT that the reviewer had overreacted! This was was even BETTER in person than it looks in the pictures. The pictures just don't do it justice. The main room upon entering is an open concept living room, dining room, and kitchen, with a small back porch. We were seven people and though that living room looks small in the pictures, the space was perfect for all of us. There is one queen-sized bed and shower bathroom upstairs, and king master with jacuzzi and shower downstairs, as well as two bedrooms with a full and twin sized bed respectively downstairs, which share a full bath as well. Four bedrooms, three showers, three toilet, seven people! It was luxurious! All of us took turns enjoying the porch swing. We had a fantastic time in Ouray staying here, and I look forward to the possibility of staying here again! Thank you, Phillip!
I will preface my review with the statement that different people have different standards so take my review with a grain of salt. I tend to have higher standards. That said, the home was lovely. It had pretty nice furniture, colors, and decorating. What it lacked was cleanliness. The first thing you notice when you walk in is an "animal-like" smell. It wasn't overwhelming but wasn't fresh. The carpets were dingy in the walking paths and badly needed a cleaning. The garage wreaked (possibly due to the trash cans?). The tile in the kitchen had some stuck on food on it and there was food visible under the fridge. Many bulbs were out and one fixture was even hanging from the ceiling (master walk-in). The master shower dripped and has for a while as the chrome has come off. This led to a dirty shower due to constant wetness. The master mattress should probably be retired. Wine fridge did not work. Hole in the wall behind the master door. The place just needs some TLC. This may just be a management company issue. The linens were clean. The towels in the master were almost new. The location was great. It is backed up against a cliff wall in the forest. Ouray is a cool town and we had a great time. We would definitely stay at the home again if the cleanliness issues were cleared up.
I'm very disappointed to hear this and apologize that you found our home in that condition. I appreciate your feedback. We spent a large amount of time and money in the spring preparing for this summer's visitors and expected our manager and cleaning crew to keep it in shape since we live in Seattle. We will certainly be addressing this with them.
Again, my apologies for your experience.
