Elly's place was in a convenient location. It was very spacious for 2 people. Wifi and towels were supplied, but remember to bring your own shower gel and shampoo. While we were there, the light in the bedroom was not working and there were a lack of extra blankets. We had communicated to Elly about the issues in which she informed us the owner if the flat will come and fix. However, we heard nothing back.
This was not a surprise as communication with Elly has been difficult. We were wanting more details in dates however Elly's responses were always short of information and would have to follow up several times before obtaining answers.
We discovered that Elly manages several listings for an agency and multiple agents have access to rent this flat; therefore, we felt like we were competing with other managers, like Elly. This contributed to late responses and vague information.
We were met by a different agent, Alessia. She gave us the keys and information about the flat and neighbourhoods. She was very friendly and helpful.
Elly allowed us to have a later checkout to accommodate our evening flight.
Overall, the experience was satisfactory to our needs; however, better communication could have really enhanced our stay.
Amanda communication was not good also for me with you. You wrong the dates of the holidays and you want change flat, i try to offer you another flat and after several maila nd question about it other person was fast and book it.,
You should arrive at 3 pm on Sunday and only at 12 of the same date you inform me that you should arrive at 6 pm!!...you ask me for late check out and i allow you to stay untill 7 pm
..I THINK I DID MY BEST ..BUT FOR SURE YOU ARE NOT WELL ORGANIZE AND I WAIT BEFORE ANSWER YOU FOR ALL THE REASON THAT I MENTIONED.
We stayed 5 nights at the apartment. We had a wonderful time, the apartment is exactly like the pictures. Although when walking the floor might sound a little unstable, but that was not a big deal. The bed is really comfortable and the bathroom is okay. Noisy at night and in the morning but its better if you want to wake up early.
Elly was very helpful and gave us the best tips on where to eat and where to go in Florence and she is very easy to communicate with. The location is amazing only 7 min walk from Santa maria novella train station and centrally located to all the attractions. great memories...i would definitely recommend.
We stayed in the Zanobbino Study, just above the P. Del Mercato Centrale.
The location is quite good as everything is within walking distance.
The flat is very good and clean. But the windowns are thin and you can hear everything outside, even just someone passing by.
I sleep deeply but even then I couldn't sleep properly because you hear as if the window was open and walls thin.
The TV is local and has only 3 channels in italian.
We never met Ally but 2 girls working with her.
The first one at our arrival. She was very nice and friendly, giving us plenty of details.
But we had 2 issues:
- There are 3 switches in each room and they are all linked together. So when we switched on in the living room we had to shwich off at the same place, otherwise it's all disturbed and we can't get light in the flat anymore.
We had to call Elly on the first night who sent someone that obviously was upset to come. She didn't bother to explain how it works and we messed up again the switches. At the end we get it correct, which wasn't what the girl told us.
- The nights were cold and we couldn't get the heating on. Elly explained it's general in Florence. No heating above 18 degres. It was 16 or max 17 during the day and less of course in the night. So her reason didn't make sense.
We had to ask for extra blankets she brought when we were off.
Elly is very careful to attend to our needs. Though if you take this flat just make sure she explains the switches and you have a deep sleep.
We actually stayed in the Pitti Palace-Boboli Gardens apt and it was a very pleasant experience. We booked this at the last minute while already on our trip, and since we had very limited wifi, it was a real help that Elly responded almost immediately to our emails. We tried to book the Zanobbino study, but it was not available, and Elly offered this apt at the same price. It was perfect for the 3 of us - my daughter and I were very comfortable in the nice big bed in the bedroom, while my cousin was quite happy on the pull out sofa in the living room watching the Cosby Show in Itallian. We wanted to drop off our luggage earlier than check in so we could catch a train, and Elly very graciously offfered to have her housekeeper meet us there first thing in the morning to let us in with our bags, give us keys, and show us how to work the locks. We used this apt as our home base for 3 nights in Florence while we took a few day trips at the end of our tour. We would have gladly stayed here much longer - the apt is huge, very spacious with lots of windows to let in fresh air. It is in the back of the building, so very quiet. The street is also very quiet - only about a 5-10min taxi ride into the area of the Santa Maria Novella Train station. The kitchen is well appointed, the furniture quite comfortable, and Elly has left a map with many suggestions for restaurants and sights to see as well as important phone numbers. Elly was wonderful to deal with speaking beautiful english, and she was very prompt getting back to us with all of our questions. I would definitely stay here next time I am in Florence.
My wife and I had a lovely stay in Elly's apartment. The location was ideal for our purposes in Florence, being centrally located near the churches and museums we wished to visit. If you do stay there and you retire early or try to sleep late, bring your earplugs. There is a market nearby and when the vendors end for the day, they store their goods in a garage across the street and make considerable noise. There is also a considerable amount of other noise late at night and early in the morning. This may be the character of all accomodations in the middle of this fine city.
My friend and myself had a lovely stay in Florence in April. The apartment is very nice and clean and minutes away from the fantastic market and our favourite restaurant Za-za, which was recommended by Elly (thanks!).
Keep in mind, that it is a little noisy in the morning, when the shopkeepers travel to the market, so take your earplugs.
However, the location is fantastic and Elly was very helpful. :)
Elly was so hospitable - from the first minute we met I felt like I was visiting friend. She showed us everything in the flat and then gave us detailed recommendations abot the places for visiting - sights, restaurants, gelato... We followed as much recommendations as possible and really enjoyed our stay in Florence =)
About the flat... Great location - you are just in a walking distance from everything, clean, cozy , big nice bad and just AMAZING ceiling! It is so beautiful! You can find everything for cooking and cleaning in the flat, the supermarket is in around 5 mins walking.
The only thing is that it's a bit noisy in the early morning - so don't forget your earplugsif your sleep is sensitive.
I definetely recommend this place for staying in Florence - enjoy your trip! =)
We had a wonderful stay in Florence.. The apartment was impeccable and very central, steps away from the Central ;Market, the Duomo, Piazza Signoria and all the main shopping areas... I would definitely recommend staying at your own place away from home, where all utilities and amenities are provided... Great memories...
