I had an incredible weekend in Montreal. As I was driving through Vermont, I had nowhere to stay and Gail pulled through. She has amazing communication skills and finds a way to make it happen and help her people as best as she can. Gail made this visit one to remember and I know I can always call this place home when I return to Montreal. The free parking along the street is a huge plus, and the location is close to literally everything! Also, I loved meeting the other visitors from all over the world at Gail's place.
Poutineville down the road has excellent food (get the first item on the menu and a beer!) and if you want the best bagel of your life then St. Viateur is the place to go. Locals know the best places and I didn't take their word for granted!
Walk through Old Montreal and the Notre Dame Basilica. Mont Royal has a beautiful overlook of the city (#1 thing to do). Also, during the summer on Wednesday and Saturdays there is the best firework show you'll ever see (no kidding, and I'm American). I followed the crowd, ended up on the bridge, and wow what a sight to remember. Other spots Gail and I recommend include walking through the Gay Village, visiting the Biosphere, Olympic Stadium and another favorite Parc de la Cité-du-Havre (gorgeous skyline from the port). Gail wasn't joking around when she said it's easier to drive around the city. If you don't have a map, just walk into a hotel and they'll give you one for free.
Most importantly, I went on this spontaneous trip alone and Gail made me feel not only right at home, but also special. She truly cares about her visitors and wants for you to enjoy everything Montreal has to offer.
Très bon séjour passé dans la colocation. Espace vaste et propre. Grande terrasse. Très bonne expérience avec les autres colocataires. Proche du métro. Pleins de magasins à proximité.
La locataire est super gentille, disponible.
The place is very clean, friendly and private with just about everything a traveler could need. I enjoyed my warm comfortable room as a base of operations in going through Montreal.
Gail was very friendly and helpful getting situated in the city. If I am ever in the city again I would stay with Gail in a heartbeat!
My first airbnb experience. Gail was very friendly and provided exactly what was expected. Clean sheets, towel and a private room with a lock. Hard to beat the value here. Thanks Gail
Good location and inexpensive, so just have to deal with some inconveniences like noise and lack of charm.
- Good location, 5 minute walk to either metro Papineau or the beginning of the Village
- Very inexpensive
- Comfortable bed
- Noisy, the room is located next to the front entrance and kitchen and the fact that the room door is made of glass panes probably doesn't help. Also there are double doors to the adjacent room which lets you hear EVERYTHING from there.
- Bathroom needs updating, mainly the sink is rusty and doesn't drain well.
- Minor points: heating could be way too much at night, kitchen not particularly well-equipped/had trouble finding a glass,
