We invite you to take a tour around Búzios, Brazil...
On the peninsula that seems more like an island, the beaches are the main stars. There are 23 little pieces of heaven, each with its unique charm and style. Geribá, the young crowd’s favorite, attracts surfers year round. While the calm waters of Tartaruga and João Fernandes beaches are more suitable for those travelling with little ones. The same goes for Ferradura, which features kayaks, banana boats …
The central waterfront, formed by the Canto, Armação and Praia dos Ossos beaches, has a scenery worthy of a fishermen’s village, peppered with colorful boats. Starting from there you can walk to the beautiful Azeda and Azedinha beaches, which are tiny and surrounded by lush vegetation. On the other side of town, great winds are a daily staple of Manguinhos and Rasa beaches, which are meeting points for windsurfers and kite surfers.
o relax or enjoy, Búzios offers activities at sea, on land, and in the air.
Búzios is surrounded by beaches on nearly all sides. Not by chance, one of the most sought after tours is the boat tour! Therefore, it is possible to get to know a good part of the beaches and then choose your favorites and come back on the other days. Also at sea, you can do anything from diving, both snorkeling and scuba, to sailing sports, taking advantage of the great winds in the area.
On land, activities range from the sophisticated, like getting to know Búzios’ golf course, to simple walks to the natural lookouts, or by the waterfront and on Rua da Pedras. For ecotourism lovers, hikes and tours reveal beautiful scenery.
There is no shortage of fun, but if you prefer to stretch your legs by the beach or the pool, enjoy it without feeling guilty!
Búzios is also a paradise when it comes to fine dining, with a mixture of French, Italian, Japanese, Thai... In each, typical flavors and delicacies fit for the most demanding and varied palates. The reason for such diversity is the large number of foreigners who came to spend a few days in town, fell in love, and never left. From their birthplaces, they brought the spices and secrets that enhance the seafood dishes – fish are the flagship of local cuisine, after all, Búzios emerged as a fishing village and is surrounded by beaches on all sides.
At dinnertime, the traditional address of restaurants is "Rua das Pedras" and its continuation - Orla Bardot, a beautiful stretch that leads to Praia dos Ossos, the birthplace of the town of Búzios. A great tip for this area is the trendy Bar do Zé which, in spite of its name, is an authentic Búzios’ style restaurant. Dishes are served on colorful tablecloth covered tables, while candles ensure not only light but also coziness. The kitchen serves risottos, such as the shrimp, brie, asparagus, and truffle oil risotto; and fish – like the grouper with mixed mushrooms -, as well as fresh pasta.
If the days are intense at the beach, the nights of Búzios follow the same pace! Nightclubs, parties, bars with live or electronic music, concerts, dinners... The town offers choices for all styles until dawn – especially during the summer and holidays.
The epicenter of the buzz is Rua das Pedras – and its continuation, Orla Bardot - which has an eclectic atmosphere full of bars, restaurants, shops, cafés, and people from around the world. It is here that you will hear the most varied accents and dialects, revealing the cosmopolitan vibe that took over the former fishing village.
To see and be seen
With just over 600 meters, the Rua das Pedras is pure charm from beginning to end. If not for Rua das Pedras, Búzios wouldn’t be the same. Cozy and sophisticated restaurants serve dishes that combine a wide variety of flavors and aromas. Funky bars with live music invite you to enjoy the come-and-go, while nightclubs shake up the dance floors until daybreak. And there are also art galleries, home furnishing shops, accessories shops, and designer shops that arouse the most unusual consumer desires.
On the Rua das Pedras-Orla Bardot corridor the scene changes with each step. To simply get a drink and watch the come-and-go, a good choice is the small Captains Bar, which serves exclusive drinks to the sound of electronic music. Further ahead is the Anexo Bar, which stands out with its sea facing “relax chairs” and with the lounge-style music. If you want to get a drink go with the caipirinhas in various flavors. If the occasion calls for a romantic mood, go to Deck Casas Brancas, which has an informal atmosphere, candle light and exotic drinks.
Traditional bar Renascimento, at Rua Turíbio de Farias – which runs parallel to Rua das Pedras - is a good option for a warm-up, featuring very cold beer, plentiful snacks, and good music. The atmosphere is simple but cozy.
Other things to note
