Our host was very quick to respond, although we only met his representative Mr.Vinod. Trastevere is a great area with an amazing restaurant scene, but on the surface it can look sketchy. This apartment is no different ... the hallway to the apartment door is old, dirty and very ghetto. The apartment is as per the pictures, but our floors were very dirty whereby our feet turned black right away if you walked around with bare feet. I went to find the mop, but it was also old and very dirty. Beds were clean...all else were as per the photos. The streets are lively, but the noise feels like there are no windows or they are open and the noise doesn't stop so sleeping is difficult. If you are travelling with young children the floor will be an issue and so will the feeling that it is not a safe apartment since the door to the building does not lock properly.
Mr. Alessandro Rechici reserved the apartment for 4 nights sending to me a nice message here on Airbnb and told me he reserved the apartment because of the positive reviews. I was really happy to host him and his family. Unfortunately Mr. Alessandro decided to leave the apartment just the day after his coming to meet some friends along their journey here in Italy as him wrote to me on Airbrb. I answered that the apartment was at his complete disposal up to the date he reserved it. I arranged the check out as Mr. Rechechi asked to me. The day after I received from Mr. Rechichi a refund request because of their short stay. I answered to Mr. Rechichi it does not allow from the terms of the rental but that the apartment was at his disposal up to the day he had reserved it. After my reply the Airbnb customer care contacted me to inform that Mr. Rechichi leaved the apartment for cleaning problems (but I never received this information from him). I was really surprised from that conduct, because if there was this problem of cleaning in my apartment Mr. Rechichi could communicate it to me or to the customer service at check-in or he could have stopped the payment within 24 hours after check in, which he did not, and finally at the check-out to my co-worker. So I had not at all a good hosting experience with Mr. Rechichi and I can't recommend him for others hosts. At the same time I think that cloud happens that a guest who rented an apartment with the family does not fell good with the environment, like the area because he didn't know it, but we are talking about Trastevere which is one of the ancient and most famous district of the center of Rome and not a Ghetto he defined it.
First time I had this kind of problem in 4 years I rented my apartments here on Airbnb.
Staying at Michele's apartment was a wonderful experience. The apartment is well located in Trastevere, close to the tram that took us to the historic area of Rome. It was very clean with great furniture and decor. Beds were comfortable and having two bathrooms was a plus for this family of four. The apartment is huge. The kitchen was well stocked and we ate in several evenings during our week there. The terrace was a huge plus. One of the great things about it is that you can close off the rest of the house and open all the glass doors between the kitchen and outdoors. We had no trouble at all with water pressure (which was mentioned in some previous reviews). In fact, the sauna bathtub and separate shower were among the things we liked best about staying there. The noise on the street is loudly active until early morning, but with the airconditioner on and ear plugs, we slept through it all. I actually found it fun to be in such an active location. He also has two wifi units, which made sure we had access regardless of where we were in this huge apartment. We really can't say enough about how much we enjoyed it.
We had an absoutely fantastic stay at this amazing appartment with our two young sons. The appartment was very clean, had great facilities and is in a brilliant location. The roof terrace is a real bonus too. It felt like we were staying in a beautiful home rather than a holiday let. We can't recommend this place enough.
We (me, husband, 2 young kids, plus 2 grandparents) had a fantastic time in Michele's apartment. The location is great - a lively, interesting and safe area, with some really great restaurants nearby.
The apartment is a good size with comfortable beds and sofa bed. Having an outside terrace is a bonus, although we were too busy exploring Rome to use it much.
Michele met us as planned at the start and end of our stay, and was really helpful in ordering us a taxi and giving some general advice. He was very relaxed and friendly. We would definitely stay here again and recommend the apartment to friends.
Michele was a perfect host. He greeted us promptly and gave us a rundown on the apartment. The place was just as it appeared online. Charming and comfortable - Five nights in Rome and we enjoyed every minute. I would highly recommend!
A perfect stay in Michele and Francesca's lovely apartment in Rome's Trastavere region, who met us to check us in and show us round. The pics don't do it justice - the apartment has got loads of charm, and is a great place to come home and relax in after a hard day's sightseeing! Bedrooms are comfortable and quiet, kitchen has everything you need, and the terrace is a quiet secluded spot for an evening glass of wine. Michele was a brilliant host who couldn't do enough to make sure our stay was hassle-free. Highly recommended!!
We loved this apartment! Rome was our first stop on our honeymoon to Italy and our first time ever staying in an airbnb. We stayed for four nights and really enjoyed our stay. Michele was a great host and arranged for someone to greet us and show us around the apartment. He was very attentive during our stay and made sure we were comfortable. The apartment is large with everything you could ever need for your stay in Rome. Very true to the photos. You are right in the heart of Trastavere and a walk from all the major sights. We only took a cab to and from the airport/train station. The only downside was that our last night we had an early train to catch and had a hard time sleeping with all the noise and activity outside. It's a popular neighborhood with local bars and restaurants and can get noisy. All other nights we were out with the crowd enjoying the weather, great restaurants and of course the gelato! If you have the opportunity, stay st this apartment. Very clean and safe. Highly recommend. Thanks again Michele
