Charles' place was a great base camp to explore ME. It is in a nice, small ME town that offers a day's worth of exploring and swimming. It was also close to Conway, NH and Portland, so we were able to do anything we wanted in the area. The description is accurate and it is very clean.
loved the hosts communication, house was perfect for our size (we were twelve) enough beds, etc. Everything was clean... Sheets, towels, dishes. Typical older Maine house, with an eclectic lean in a few of the second floor rooms. Great grill, super close to the lake (about 3 minute walk)..the stores are walking distance too.. I'd definitely stay again. Thanks Charles! (By the way, Google maps has the location of the house wrong)
The home and its amenities were exactly as described. Great location within walking distance to the town beach at Highland Lake and downtown Bridgton. We were traveling with 2 adults and 6 kids- each adult had her own bedroom and the kids all slept comfortably in the bunk room. We had a great time and made memories to last!
We had a great time at the house! Clean and very spacious. We loved the awesome Updated Monopoly board game and the football table for Rainey day activities. The house so close to the lovely Highland lake beach and yet also close to the downtown area of Bridgton! In a quiet neighborhood! Highly recommend this place!
The house is in a great location right off the center of town with plenty of restaurants, stores and entertainment available. Everything in the house was as advertised in the ad, and we had a great weekend up in Maine! There were plenty of towels, linens, kitchen materials, etc available, and whatever we needed or used was easy to grab from Hannafords down the street.
Charles was extremely responsive, and a great help for the few questions we did have. He left a great guidebook in the kitchen with all of the information we needed for the the house and the area. If I was heading back into the area with a large group, I would not hesitate to stay in the house again!
Everything was really good, the house is even better from what I saw in the pictures, really clean. Everything is very well equipped and also addressed so you can just quickly find whatever you want.
Everything work just fine, the only thing is that the third floor rooms may be cold in winter times and if you just use the accomodated heater it will be very good and charming. We were 13 adults and 2 kids and one infant there at everything was really good for us.
Cons: There is just one bathroom so be patient :D
Ask Charles to adjust the heat for you because it was on 80 for us and it was more than enough.
Finally: Charles was very friendly and a good host.
I give his place 5 stars.
Overall good experience. We loved the place. Neat & clean... Same as described on site.
