Only for adventurous nature lovers, the Pet-Friendly Caracol Cabin offers the best view; it is located in the foothills of the mountain, in the heart of the Encinos de Amatlan oak forest. Sleep under the stars in a round bed inside a wooden and adobe dome. Ancestral fractal design, organic architecture free from pollution and electromagnetic radiation—the best choice for a magical and sacred place.

The space
From the terraces of Cabaña Caracol you can observe the stars, the millennial formations of La Puerta, La window and Quetzalcoatl, the hills of Los Guardes and Las Mariposas and, hopefully, some of the objects that have made Amatlan of Quetzalcoatl famous as a mystical and sacred place, energetic portal and magnetic center and UFO sighting, in addition to the caves and hieroglyphics that are very close by.

You can spend a unique night outside the cabin in front of a campfire, in the company of your pets.

We have wifi, and spaces to work on the terraces and gardens. The signal does not enter the domes, due to its thick seismic walls, which guarantees an environment free of radiation and electromagnetic pollution.

There are rescued dogs and cats and the friendly donkey Gardenia on the grounds shared by our cabins. The terrain is approximately 8,000 meters and among the dogs there are 4 Xolozcuintles. We have an acoustic shell and run bioconstruction courses periodically. We currently have two new domes under construction, a zome tower and a biopiscina.

Arrival at the site is by a terracería trail in tall trucks, 4x4 vehicle or walking, which guarantees privacy to any visitor.

The view is unbeatable and there are multiple activities that can be carried out in the immediate vicinity, hiking, walks to the Poza de Quetzalcoatl, to the Puerta, to the Ventaña, to the Tepechinola, night walk to the Potrero viewpoint in the mountains, therapies, shamanic cleans, etc.

Neighborhood highlights

Amatlan de Quetzalcóatl is a community located in the municipality of Tepoztlan, fifteen minutes from the town of Tepoztlán, one hour from Mexico City and thirty minutes from the town of Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico. Its name means "Place of the Amates". This is where the legendary hero-dios Quetzalcoatl was born. The meaning of its name comes from the Nahuatl amatl ("amate") and tlan ("place") words. In ancient times the community was a leading paper producer made with the bark of the tree love. The amatlecos paid to the mexicas of paper, and the details of the deities were made with it, the temples were decorated and the codices were made.

Amatlan of Quetzalcóatl is located inside Corredor Ajusco-Chichinautzin National Park, protected natural area, surrounded by mountains. The place offers points of interest for those who like long nature walks, among which we find: Ahuatenco, place of Los Guajes, where our domes are Colmena and Caracol, Cerro de la Puerta (Telzacualli), Cerro de la Ventana, Cerro de la Fertilidad (Tepexinola), Barranca del Tecolote (Tecoloatlahtli), Ameyalli Oztocuanamiquian (road to the two stones that rest in front), Paraje Machinco (place where you sit to rest). There are also trails that preserve the cultural heritage of the place: Camino al Cinteopa (temple where the god of corn is adored), Poza Nahualatl (mysterious water from the great secrets) and the Tlamanco viewpoint (place of offerings) from where you have an incomparable view of Amatlan, Yautepec and Tepoztlán.

In Amatlan de Quetzalcóatl you can enjoy walks along ancient trails, horseback riding, bird watching, etc. In the center we can find the temple of Santa Maria Magdalena, the patron saint of the place, whose party is celebrated on July 22, where you can taste delicious dishes, many of which date back to the pre-Hispanic era, such as tamales, cooked pumpkin, beans in broth, sauces, itacates, Chinese or colored bean tlacoi, rice cooked cheese, rice atole and different fruits, orange tree tea, mole green and red mole, among others. And Plaza Cívica, where a monument is held and ancestral ceremonies are held in honor of the God Quetzalcoatl, the Feathered Serpent.
