About this listing
This is my personal, lively studio apartment with full kitchen. Come live like a local! This neighborhood is a hot spot and sits in the North East of downtown Asheville. You'll love this neighborhoods vibrant, down to Earth vibe. Some pictures are not up to date. . .
This cozy house is nestled in the historic district of Asheville. In the early 1900's, this neighborhood was a rich hub for jazz musicians and continues to be an inspiring, alternative base for artists and open minded visitors.

You will have the private BOTTOM studio apartment. The upper unit is blocked off by a trap door at the top of the staircase. My personal items are for the most part stored, but may be in certain drawers, cabinets, closets and in the fridge. I've marked items, such as the spice collection, that you are welcome to use. * please note. The bed frame has been removed as I was erring complaints that it was too small and guests couldn't fit. Also, the glass doors have been removed from the bathroom and a full size table added to the kitchen.
Private basement apartment split by trap door at top of the stairs. Access is to the back left of the house down 10 wooden exterior stairs. Free parking right in front of the house.
Interaction with Guests
I leave a key and let you be!
This neighborhood is the home to artists, eco, alternative folks, many of whom own businesses downtown and are healers, dreamers and music makers. The feel is friendly, relaxed, safe and inspiring. It's SO FUN!
There is a bus line nearby. For $1 you can get from the airport to the downtown bus station! No trains or subways. Taxis are available. You can walk and bike to downtown restaurants, venues, grocery stores, breweries, art galleries, book shops and museums and theaters. Once you are at the house, you won't need your car!
Other Things to Note
This is my private space so you will find personal items in the drawers. Please don't rummage! You get a big ol' kitchen, but you also get the not-so-updated Grandma bathroom which is entirely functional and clean, but still rocking with the flower power mint tub and not so sexy plastic liner. These are next on the renovation list! There are a few minor things that are quirky - like the stove buttons on the stove and the dish washer does not run right now. If you are not looking to prepare a thanksgiving feast, it's more than acceptable. The fridge has filtered water and an ice machine and there are plenty of dishes and glasses.
Please don't go through any drawers, respect keep out signs on closets, again this is my private space. The back yard is off limits and may be used by neighbors or friends. Please enjoy the books but don't take them off the premises. Have fun. Roll in the grass. Talk to the neighbors. Get weird. This is Asheville! Sorry, no pets.
