This is an ideal spot for nature lovers who want a remote rainforest feel with good internet and road access. It is great for work in Nature for weeks, months or even years! Mains water, (and reserve tanks) electricity and WIFI are pretty reliable although still vulnerable to bad weather. Outside security cameras cover just the front porch abd side entrance .

The property is accessed via a flight of steps through the garden full of fruit trees.

The parrots agouti and hummingbirds await......

The space
Set in a clearing in the Rainforest, Pineapple Crossing is accessed down well lit thirty steps from its neighbour Birdwatchers Rainforest Cottage.

Made from local hardwood the house is a sturdy construction with inside and outside living space. Warm water showers and a well equipped kitchen with washing machine are available. As well as the attractive Master bedroom with its own balcony and access to the wild garden and forest , there is another double bed room with its own bathroom. There is a baby’s cot and a fold down bed available.

In the garden is a wooden memorial bench for quiet meditation.

Even if we are away, Bernadette is available to support and troubleshoot from our home in Roseau. We can arrange for guests to be led from the ferry or for a taxi from the airport. Rental vehicles can be delivered (recommended) and meals arranged from a friend at “Doh have to” bush bar.

External cameras linked to Harry’s phone will show intruders but do not have a view inside the house.

Guest access
Easy access to the mid point of Segment 4 of the Waitikubuli trail and the path to Middleham Falls (2hrs) . There are several local bars and a shop down our steep drive and turn left!

All this means that a vehicle is useful but not crucial. Local buses run from the end of the road. If you are energetic and not time bound as there is no timetable! We can arrange tours and taxis which work out about the same price per day as a rental plus insurance and gas ($120usd a day)

Other things to note
Any visitors who fancy themselves as gardeners can offer to lend a hand or make suggestions as we develop this hidden gem. We can loan you a bar b cue. Don't burn yourself on the solar hotwater! there are bugs that live in the rainforest bring insect repellent and sun screen. Oh and it rains in the rainforest!

Where you’ll be

Pont Cassé, Saint George Parish, Dominica

The edge of the Morne Trois Piton World Heritage site is pristine rainforest. The Parrots fly noisily mid morning and mid afternoon. The Bamboo grows daily. The Night time disturbances are likely to be Agoutis and Manicou ransacking your garbage if you do not hang it up. It can be chilly and it does rain heavily in the Rainforest!
