The Space

Note: Please take the time to read the description and house rules. Also, please contact me about availabilities (i.e. send a message without pre-booking dates) before trying to make a reservation.

Cosy appartment in Gotanda (central Toyko), just a few minutes train ride to most major stations (Shibuya 7 min, Shinjuku 15 min, Harajuku 10 min, Roppongi 10 min etc).

Gotanda is a residential neighborhood with a very lively area near the station. The building is very modern (built in 2004) and clean, with great security (Surveillance cameras and restricted entrance by code or key).

A key will be provided and the entire apartment will be all yours during your stay, giving you entire freedom just as if you had your own apartment in Tokyo. Drawers, clothing rack and part of the shoe rack will be left empty for you to put your luggage and shoes.

For your daily errands, you will be literally 1 minute away from a supermarket (open until 1 am!) where you can stock up on food, drinks and anything else you might need. There are many convenience stores (open 24/7), shops, restaurants (including the famous Ramen restaurant “Ippudo” and a renowned steak house) and bars in the area so you won’t have to worry about looking for them. Note for coffee lovers, there is a store nearby (2-3 minutes walk) where you can get freshly roasted coffee beans. (A coffee mill is available in the apartment)

The apartment is also located near a shopping mall (which includes a Uniclo store, cafes, restaurants, a 100 yen shop etc), and is 5 minutes from the famous Togoshi Ginza shopping district (look it up, it’s one of the oldest shopping streets in Japan with many traditional Japanese shops).
A map of the neighborhood with all the main spots (including those mentioned above) will be provided to you upon arrival.

In the apartment, you will enjoy ultra-fast cable internet as well as Wi-Fi (wireless internet), a 32" HD TV, a quality sound system (Amp + 4 speakers) and great view from the 9th floor. The apartment is very clean with hardwood flooring and an open air balcony with a beautiful view of Tokyo at night. You will be sleeping on a double size bed, ideal for couples and tall people who like to stretch and still be on the bed. There is a plasma-ion air purifier which gets rid of dust and allergens, making the apartment a welcome oasis for people with pollen allergies and the like.

Bed sheets and covers will be either dry cleaned before your arrival or brand new (replaced every few guests).

In order to spare you the hassle of bringing extra luggage with you and leave space in your bags for gifts and souvenirs to bring home, the apartment is set up with everything you might need during your stay.

The apartment is fully equipped with the following amenities:

- Fridge
- Microwave/oven
- Rice cooker
- Blender
- Electric Kettle
- Coffee Mill
- Full Air conditioning / heater
- Plasma-Ion Air Purifier (Eliminates dust and allergens)

A bicycle is also available upon request if you want to leisurely stroll the streets of Tokyo at your own pace. If you have any special requests, let me know enough time beforehand and we will try to work out something.

The apartment is conveniently located less than 10 minutes' walk from all the following stations:

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Ali was very responsive and helpful with detailed directions about how to get to his place and use the amenities in it. The apartment was perfect for our week in Tokyo and its proximity to the Metro and other trains made it easy to get around. Although we never met Ali, everything went exactly according to plan and he checked in (via email) with us every step of the way. I would definitely recommend staying here!

  • This apartment was perfect for my wife and me during our stay in Tokyo. The location is great allowing us to experience the real Japanese culture yet located right by Togoshi train station and Gotanda train station. This allowed us quick and easy access to all of Tokyo. Not to mention the super market is right around the corner and open till 1 am. This was perfect so that we could sight see a full day, return on the last train, and still be able to get to the super market. With the kitchen in the apartment, we were able to make most meals and save a lot of money on food. Ali was extremely helpful. Anything we had a question about he answered and responded within the hour. He stayed in touch before our trip, during our trip, and even made sure we made it home safely. Ali went above and beyond by individualizing a train route for us telling us the exact times and trains to take from the airport to the apartment according to our plane's arrival and departure times. The food he left for us to eat on our first night there was most appreciated after such a long flight. We could not recommend a better place or host. This apartment and Ali's help made our trip the best it could be. Thank you Ali we will definitely stay there for all our trips to Japan.

  • The apartment was very convenient for the Yamanote line and so made travelling around Tokyo very easy. We did a language course in Meguro and could get there in 20 minutes (walk and I stop on train). We enjoyed being in a suburban neighbourhood with supermarket close by.

  • Ali was amazing! He stayed in constant contact with me leading up to when my wife and I were staying there. He met us at the station and gave us detailed info about the area, and use of his apartment. We ran into him a couple times during our stay and he was always very helpful. He not only provided fresh towels for us, but also checked us out on how to use his washing machine and kitchen equipment. I would highly recommend Ali's place for anyone looking for a launchpad in Tokyo. It's in Gotanda which is centrally located (just a few stops from Shibuya or Shinagawa on the Yamanote line).

  • Ali is a great host, responded quickly to all of my questions, and was very friendly and helpful on arrival. The apartment is clean, modern and in a nice part of Tokyo, a short walk from the Yamanote line, making it very easy to get around all of the city. I'd highly recommend it as a place to stay!

  • I needed a place for a stay in Tokyo and Ali's apartment caught my attention because of it convenient location and modern look and furniture. It happened to be the best bang for the buck I've ever found. The place is great, quiet, clean and modern, a short walk from the station with plenty of restaurants on the way.
It's in Gotanda, a big train station in central Tokyo on the Yamanote line. It's easy to go anywhere from there in a very short time.
This is a great choice for half the price of an average hotel.
Ali left a gift, snacks and even beers in the fridge for us.

  • Our stay at Ali's place was ideal.
His flat is new, very clean and tidy. With lots of commodities, in a quiet and well connected area. Just minutes away from the Yamanote line.

Ali is an amazing person. Really attentive, helpful, and welcoming. Thanks to him we felt like home since the first minute.
He made space for all our stuff in drawers, shoe racks, and table. He got some fresh towels and bed sheets for us, showed us some good tips around the area, and even left some welcoming cookies for us.

We will definitely be back :)

  • Ali's place was located in a fantastic area. As per his listing it is a bit quiet BUT it's the ideal place to come home to. Tokyo's subway system is excellent and Ali's place is 2 -4 stops from any of the major neighbourhoods and sites.

The apartment itself was ideal for two of us it was very, very clean and tidy. Larger than the hotel rooms we stayed in and made a great base. Ali was incredibly responsive, his instructions were very, very thorough and he was a pleasure to book with. I would highly recommend his place and him as a host any time.

  • We had a good time at Alis tiny place. Its about a ten minute walk from the JR line, which is the most convinient train. Its a sleepy neighbourhood, not much going on, so quite quiet at night.
Ali was extremely courteous and reliable in his communication. Definitely worth a stay.

  • Ali's place was perfect for me. It's a short walk to the green JR Yamanote train line, which takes you directly to Shibuya, Harajuku and Shinjuku. The Yamanote also makes a circle around Tokyo, so it connects to tons of other train lines. You are set to go anywhere from the Yamanote.

I'm a female, I speak no Japanese and I usually came "home" around midnight. I felt very safe in that neighborhood and in Ali's building. The apt itself provided everything I needed- including a washer/dryer and a hair dryer. It's clean and uncluttered. It was a great "home base" for my two weeks in Japan.

An added bonus- the water in the bathtub comes out hot and stays that way until the tub is full. I refuse to take a bath in America again now that I've been spoiled by Ali's bath in Japan.

My name is Ali and I live in Tokyo, Japan. I work for a major Japanese company and mostly take care of the internal audit of its subsidiaries abroad, thanks to which I get to visit many countries all over the world. Since this makes me spend a lot of time away from home, I put my apartment on Airbnb for other people to be able to comfortably enjoy what Tokyo has to offer (which is a lot!) during those times. I am a bit of a maniac when it comes to cleanliness, and always keep my apartment spotless (yes, I'm one of those crazy people who clean several times a week and go berserk at the sight of the slightest dirt spot). As a result, I'm very respectful of other people's property, and expect the same from my guests. I travel a lot both for work and leisure, but when I'm in Tokyo I spend most of my time working out, doing Capoeira, playing basketball, and enjoying Japan's breathtaking scenery through motorbike rides.
