The condo that we rented was in pristine shape, very contemporary with beach themed decor. Everything was clean, comfortable, and bright. We have stayed at numerous hotels throughout the country and aboard such as the Caribbeans and Europe. And we have to say that George's condo met our expectations: everything indicated in the description was true. (This is our second summer renting through George and everything was more than satisfactory!)
We loved the view out back of the "tropical jungle" and golf course seen through the ceiling to floor windows in the dining and living room area. Not to mention the secluded and private views from the second floor master bedroom deck: crocodiles swimming leisurely in the lake, palm trees gently swaying in the breeze, egrets and herons perched on the tree right next to the condo, and cute little geckos pattering around. We couldn't have asked for a better view of nature than at George's place.
Many features came with the stay, George included two bicycles for our usage, amenity card to the pool and gym, and a bottle of wine greeted us upon our arrival which was nice given our three hours drive from Charlotte.
George came onsite immediately to replace the refrigerator bulb when it went out. He also provided us with beach chairs when we requested. He really went out of his way to ensure that our stay was pleasant and relaxing.
We enjoyed a wonderful week on SI. The location was perfect and George's home was inviting with a nice lagoon view overlooking the golf course. We especially were entertained by the resident alligator each morning and evening.
The beds were very comfortable and the master shower was very relaxing after long days in the sun!
George had alerted us he would be away during our visit, but informed us of pertinent information in a timely manner.
We loved the keyless entry option so much better than the combination lock boxes found on some homes on SI. And it was nice to have 2 bikes there for use during the week.
The kitchen is well stocked and a gas grill is a nice option to have (although we did not use it).
Overall, this is a great home to consider if you desire convenient access to the beach and an updated rental.
Thank you George for allowing us to stay in your home.
Beautiful neighborhood with lots of activities to entertain a family. The condo was clean and nicely decorated. It was conveniently located close to the beach and pool. We had a wonderful relaxing vacation.
George made us feel welcome long before we went to Kiawah. He was friendly on line and answered all of my questions. Just prior to the trip he sent information about what to do when we got there. When we arrived there was a note and bottle of wine waiting for us.
Seabrook Island is a gorgeous place. Green and tranquil with loads of beach. George's house is lovely and bright and cool. We loved looking out over the gold course watching the alligators still the fish.
The house is also steps from the beach - a beach that goes on for miles. Most people camp out at the end of the path so a with just a short walk you can be completely alone.
There were 4 of us and we had everything we need in George's house. And although we never got to meet he was a very attentive host. Made sure we knew what we needed in advance and checked in while we were there.
If highly recommend this if you want a high quality beach holiday or want to use this as a base to explore Charleston. We did both.
I can't say enough good things about George and his place. George was extremely communicative, gave us a full PDF of instructions and even came by to check in. His place was gorgeous, super clean, and had all the amenities we needed.
Everything about staying at this villa was great! The rooms and the setup were perfect. It is right near the beach and the country club. George was always ready to answer any of our questions and offered his own suggestions as well as to where to eat and what to do. I would definitely go back with my partner and stay here another time.
About the Host, George
Barbara and I moved to Seabrook Island in 2011 after nearly 25 years in Chicago. I am mostly retired and spend my time consulting, working on my golf game and fly fishing. Barbara works, partly from home and partly on the road. She enjoys the beach, reading and her exercise classes. We have three grown children and extended family mostly still in PA and NY where we grew up.
We enjoy vacationing in nice places like Seabrook Island which is how we found it over 20 years ago when we first came to neighboring Kiawah Island with our kids. We feel blessed to be able to live here and to share it with our friends and family.
