Climb up into The Attic and feel at home. The relaxing and welcoming decor and attention to detail will make your stay a delightful experience. A spacious and private apartment boasts a comfortable king-size bed, kitchenette and en suite bathroom. Breakfast and unlimited WiFi are also included. There is no tv but a selection of books and magazines to keep you company.

The space
The Attic is situated in a residential area close to town and many other local attractions.
It is above our double garage which is connected to the house but has it's own access through the garage doors. This means you can come and go as you please without having to enter the main house. It also means that it is quiet and private. The garage is not used to park cars (so there are no car fumes in The Attic) but has a dart board instead, which you are most welcome to use.

Although The Attic is situated in a central part of Rotorua, we strongly recommend that you have a car as this makes getting around so much easier . . . Although if you don't mind walking then this will suit you too!
Below are some descriptions of nearby hot spots -
•6 min drive/30 minute walk north will see you soaking in the Polynesian Spa pools overlooking Lake Rotorua.
•2 min drive/10 minute walk south will take you to Whakarewarewa – The Living Maori Village or to Te Puia where you can view the world famous geyser and mud pools.
•12 min drive east takes you to the serenity of Lake Okereka and Lake Tikitapu/Blue Lake or a 5 min drive will take you to the stunning Redwoods.
•10 min drive west gets you to the start of the Mount Ngongotaha Nature Loop walk with beautiful vistas of the area.

For keen mountain bikers wanting to hit the tracks, it’s a mere 15 min bike or a 5 min drive to both the MTB Waipa carpark and the Redwood Forest information centre.

Guest access
Access is through the automatic double garage door. A lock-box with the key is outside the door and the code for the lock-box will be emailed to you once you confirm your booking. Once inside the garage, you will find the stairs that take you to The Attic on the right and towards the back.

Other things to note
Safe parking - You can park in the driveway and use the internal garage space to store bikes or any other large valuable items.

Games - There is a table tennis table and dart board in the garage.

Children - We have a portocot available if you need it and are happy to set it up for you upon request. There is no extra charge for babies. Children are most welcome although we don’t have a stair-gate at the top of the stairs but we can set up extra mattresses for children if required. In the back garden there is a trampoline and swings for kids, which you can also use.

Cat & Rabbits – we have one cat and two rabbits – none of which go into The Attic.

Washing machine and dryer – are available upon request.

Breakfast is – toast with spreads, muesli, fruit, black tea and herbal tea, instant coffee and plunger coffee, milk.

Bed - the mattress is an orthopedic one and is on the firm side and very comfortable if you like firmer mattresses!

Rotorua, Bay Of Plenty, New Zealand

Glenholme is one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Rotorua with lots of beautiful colonial houses and tree-lined trees. It is close to the centre of town but quiet, peaceful and very safe.

I'm the mum to three fabulous children and the wife to one amazing husband! I grew up in Rotorua and after travelling NZ and the world for twenty years, I have come back home. I am a primary school teacher by trade but have put it to the side for now. We love living here and hope you enjoy Rotorua too!
