We had a great time at Phil and Christine's place. The house is very comfortable and spacious. Christine sets a wonderful breakfast every morning - all kinds of fruit, cereals, breads, juice, coffee and tea. She even got gluten free items for my wife. If you go here, you have to go to Pierce Redmonds pub, it's a unique place. Phil and Christine are very warm and friendly people who really welcome you into their home. They are now new friends that we plan to visit again..
Chris and Phil were the most friendly and welcoming hosts we could have hoped for on our first night back in Ireland. We received proper Irish hospitality and when we left, only 2 days later, we felt we'd known them for years! They obviously enjoy meeting their guests and sharing stories with them. But they also let us just "be" to relax in the evening if that's what we wanted.
Their home is beautiful (the pictures don't do it justice!) - very tastefully furnished and decorated with gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside - lovely peace and quiet. We admired much of Phil's own handiwork as a carpenter and Chris has a great flair for home styling! I'd have happily moved right in! Every attention to detail had been thought of, from bottles of water on the bedside tables, all the toiletries you could want in your bathroom, towels, DVDs, books. The rooms (and the whole house) was spotlessly clean and the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable - with the quiet countryside we had great nights sleep.
We really were made to feel at home and loved meeting Chris and Phil. My only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. We'd have loved to hear Phil play some of his music in their amazing "party room", but time was against us.
Chris is a wealth of information and on her advice we visited Ferns Castle, nearby, which was fascinating - and free! The guided tour gave us more information on the area than anywhere else we've been. Definitely recommend.
The house was easy to find following Chris's instructions from the Airbnb website, we drove right to the door from the Rosslare ferry without getting lost once. She also happily gave us directions for our days out, so there was no problem finding the place. It is in the countryside, but that's exactly what we wanted.
If you are looking at this and wondering whether to book - don't hesitate. You will find 2 very friendly hosts, proper Irish hospitality, wonderful breakfasts - the spread filled the table - gorgeous countryside and absolute comfort. A real home from home. Will definitely go back and have already recommended them to others when they travel through Ireland.
Chris and Phil are wonderful hosts, so charming and friendly. We enjoyed our stay in there amazing house a lot and felt like at home. We can only recommend this place, even for a longer stay!
Chris and Phil were great hosts, who welcomed us into their home and their country. In one sense the house is in the middle of nowhere, as the pictures show. In another sense though, it's right in the heart of Ireland's history: where the English first came in as overlords and where the Irish rebellion of 1798 rose and was shattered. And Chris has all the insider knowledge on how best to explore the area.
With Chris's directions, we found it easily from the Rosslare ferry, although the GPS didn't really believe there was anything there. Breakfast was sumptuous – so many delicious options it was hard not to eat too much.
Christine's b&b was great, very friendly hosts and happy
To give us touring advice for our first trip to Ireland.
Private bathroom , nice clean room, will recommend to others !
Chris and Phil are exceptional hosts and they have a beautiful home. They accepted us on short notice and they were so nice. They make you feel like family as soon as you walk in the door. Chris had a nice breakfast for us in the morning and she had plenty of great travel suggestions. We just wish we could have stayed longer.
This airbnb experience was really awesome.
We had wonderful moments with Christine and Phill. First the house was warm and clean, an idyllic and tranquil place near Arklow and Gorey. It was not very easy to find but it totally worth it! We share lot of things in common with them from music to Z-movies . Christine gives us directions about museum and her wonderful castle (don't forget to take a tour inside with Larry!) I hope we'll meet them very soon
