Chris & Phil were absolutely lovely. Their home is situated on a gorgeous country road, & has stunning views of the surrounding farmland. Chris is a tour guide at Ferns Castle, in the nearby town of Ferns - we had a delightful day exploring & sightseeing.
They are great company & took care of all of our needs while staying. Breakfast was fabulous! If you have any desires about the surrounding countryside or indeed Ireland in general, they are quite knowledgable about everything.
We had a little trouble finding the place as we are traveling without cell service, but they were absolutely sweet & stayed up to greet us warmly when we arrived. Chris had put out adorable glass water bottles for our use in each room.
I would absolutely stay here again, recommend it to anyone, & feel as though we have made lifelong friends.
Chris & Phil are delightful, their home is gorgeous, & you can't ask for a better place to stay for your visit to the Wexford countryside. Added value is that Chris is a tour guide & they both know the area & country; we sought out all of her recommendations we had time for & were completely happy we did.
Go see her fantastic tour at Ferns castle as well-she's fabulous!!
We had delicious local Wexford strawberries & Phil took care of us in the mornings.
Great conversations, lovely views, completely cozy country home.
Absolutely loved our stay & visit with them & feel as though we have made lifelong friends.
Christine was lovely, responding immediately. Her home was warm and inviting, and she made every effort to ensure we were able to come and go as we pleased. Her and her partner were kind, and made us feel at home. lovely continental Breakfast in the morning
We only want 1 night with Christine and Phil but wish it had been longer. Christine alerted us to Ferns Castle nearby, and what a find, so interesting. Their home is wonderful, it has everything you could want, even eyeshades on the bedside. They were incredibly generous cups of tea, and biscuits on arrival, and a bountiful breakfast. The choice for breakfast was extensive and just delicious, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, bread, juice it was a feast. Highly recommend a stay here, more than one night too would be a treat.
Warmly welcomed. Room clean, bed comfortable, breakfast great. Location restful, lovely view. Easy to chat with, lots of information if visiting Ireland. Recommend highly.
We had a great time at Phil and Christine's place. The house is very comfortable and spacious. Christine sets a wonderful breakfast every morning - all kinds of fruit, cereals, breads, juice, coffee and tea. She even got gluten free items for my wife. If you go here, you have to go to Pierce Redmonds pub, it's a unique place. Phil and Christine are very warm and friendly people who really welcome you into their home. They are now new friends that we plan to visit again..
Chris and Phil were the most friendly and welcoming hosts we could have hoped for on our first night back in Ireland. We received proper Irish hospitality and when we left, only 2 days later, we felt we'd known them for years! They obviously enjoy meeting their guests and sharing stories with them. But they also let us just "be" to relax in the evening if that's what we wanted.
Their home is beautiful (the pictures don't do it justice!) - very tastefully furnished and decorated with gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside - lovely peace and quiet. We admired much of Phil's own handiwork as a carpenter and Chris has a great flair for home styling! I'd have happily moved right in! Every attention to detail had been thought of, from bottles of water on the bedside tables, all the toiletries you could want in your bathroom, towels, DVDs, books. The rooms (and the whole house) was spotlessly clean and the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable - with the quiet countryside we had great nights sleep.
We really were made to feel at home and loved meeting Chris and Phil. My only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. We'd have loved to hear Phil play some of his music in their amazing "party room", but time was against us.
Chris is a wealth of information and on her advice we visited Ferns Castle, nearby, which was fascinating - and free! The guided tour gave us more information on the area than anywhere else we've been. Definitely recommend.
The house was easy to find following Chris's instructions from the Airbnb website, we drove right to the door from the Rosslare ferry without getting lost once. She also happily gave us directions for our days out, so there was no problem finding the place. It is in the countryside, but that's exactly what we wanted.
If you are looking at this and wondering whether to book - don't hesitate. You will find 2 very friendly hosts, proper Irish hospitality, wonderful breakfasts - the spread filled the table - gorgeous countryside and absolute comfort. A real home from home. Will definitely go back and have already recommended them to others when they travel through Ireland.
