Caterina is a wonderful host; friendly, easy, intelligent. The apartment came up to our expectations and to the description on the site. A very good base from where to explore Venice, which we did. Caterina gave us tips, when asked, and she informed us about her own life. So we got some background-information on 'Italian life'. Surely recommended.
Caterina and her boyfriend are really nice and interesting persons. They are always ready to help you. The house is perfect, not far from vaporetto lines and it can be appreciated to go out of the crowded places after a big day. We recommand this place and especially its hosts for a journey in Venezzia ! It was a pleasure to meet you and spend this last evening with you. We would be happy to meet you again. Really.
I had an awesome stay in Venice. First of all because, you know, it is Venice. Secondly because of Caterina's hospitality. Caterina's place is located in Lido which is just a hop, skip, and a jump from Venice (about 10 min) on a vaporetto. Her house is very pleasantly set up and the room is very spacious and private. The house also has a bit of a front yard which would be pleasant in summer. Lido itself is a nice quiet island and believe me - a most welcomed relief from the crowds in Venice (and it has a beach - if you are visiting in summer!). Caterina is an excellent host with great tips and suggestions for the local attractions and stories. As a host she is easy going and well organised. If you are heading for Venice I would recommend staying with her.
Caterina's place was exactly what we were looking for – a relaxed and casual place that quickly felt like a temporary home. Everything was clean and tidy, the coffee in the mornings somehow tasted really great (along with the Wifi!) and I liked the whole atmosphere – very casual and welcoming at all times, but you can also have your space if you want.
We were first doubting if Lido was too far to go forth-and-back every day, but it was a very good location – a nice break from the busyness of Venice, not too far at all, and the vaporetto rides home in the dark were crazy beautiful. Bonuses: cheap wine close buy, chocolate croissants, fruit and pizza (best one we had) around the corner.
Best of all – Caterina was so super helpful every time we had any questions, she was eager to explain and give us great tips. The local knowledge makes such a difference in Venice! Wouldn't trade this for any hotel, really. Thanks so much Caterina!
I came for the art biennial, Caterina and her boyfriend were great hosts, very friendly and easygoing. Using the kitchen was no problem and I enjoyed coffee on their terrace in the morning! It was a pleasure talking to them, Caterina actually is from Venice, it was interesting to get to know her perspective on the city. The room was simple but clean, I slept very well even though the house is next to one of the two bigger streets on Lido and traffic sometimes quite loud. Thank you, Caterina. for helping to make my stay such a good experience!
We had a really nice stay at Caterina's place-cozy and laid-back. I would definitely return to the lovely Island of Lago and to Caterina's place!
