This historic home is great for a small family or for a couples get together. You will love its location.
Downstairs is a brightly painted dining room with multi-painted chairs and a window seat and a living room with striped couches, a flat-screen TV, and book shelves with some books for borrowing. Our kitchen was just remodeled a couple of years ago, which will appeal to those looking for modern amenities. There is a small half bath on this level. In addition, there is a three-season room on the first floor, stocked with children's toys and games.
Upstairs has a modern and bright full bath. There are three bedrooms: one with a full-sized bed, one with two twins, and one with a queen-sized bed.
(Please note: beds will not be made when you arrive. We prefer that you use your own, but if you use ours, you must leave them as you find them. No towels (bed or beach) are provided.)
What we love most is that Dock Square--with its assortment of restaurants and shops--is just a stroll away, which means you will never have to deal with parking or traffic.
There are a variety of beaches a short drive away (Kennebunk's beaches about 3 miles, Goose Rocks Beach about 5 miles, and Colony Beach 1 mile). Or go further afield to Portland, which is only about 30 minutes, for a Sea Dogs game, or a little further still to Freeport to scout out LL Bean.
The house sits on a quiet dead-end street, consisting of only about 5 homes, so we are spared the congestion of high season. Around the corner is the public school, which offers a nice playground. Head the other direction to walk into town, which is only about a 7 minute walk.
You will love our outdoor shower! Also, feel free to use our beach chairs, as well as two bikes--beaters for sure, but great for toolin' around.
