About this listing
The quiet and comfortable place to stay at in the capital area and everything within an easy reach, minutes from downtown Reykjavík. There is nothing better than relaxing in the hot tub after a busy day at your comfortable home away from home.
Have you ever sat in a hot tub with northern lights dancing above? If not Elves Hill Studio might be the right place for you in Iceland. Since the nineteen thirties it has been widely believed elves live in a rock 300 meters up the road. Several attempts to straighten a curve there and move the rock failed dramatically. Vehicles and machinery broke down and workers were hurt but don´t worry, the small hidden people are nice and have absolutely nothing against humans as long as they respect their homes.
Centrally located in the capital area, only 7 km from downtown Reykjavik, we offer a very nice private studio with access to a big garden and a large hot tub/Jacuzzi. Four can sleep in the studio in one king size bed and a sleeping sofa/pull out (website hidden), radio and a free wireless internet access. Bed linen and towels included as well as comfortable bathrobes and slippers. The lovely & sociable cat Kátína(Happiness) adopted me l2012 so she might visit you but it is up to you if you let her in.
5 minutes walk to the best view point in town and where more elves are said to live and rule. Two buses taking you to downtown Reykjavík in 15 minutes, stop 90 meters from the studio and there is plenty of free parking around. LGB and family friendly.
Nearby there are grocery stores, cafés, bakeries and shopping malls. If you decide to walk to downtown Reykjavík I recommend a very nice 40 minutes walk through parks, along the sea shore and by Reykjavík artificial beach.
I live next door and my mother lives downstairs. We are very happy to assist you in order to make your stay in Iceland very enjoyable. Look forward to see you in Iceland!
A real spacious Icelandic hot tub, a garden house and a big outdoor patio and a garden house. Comfortable bath ropes await you and if you need there is a washing machine in the bathroom. Late night check in is no problem. We are living next door and always ready to assist our guests and so is Kátína, our very friendly cat.
Interaction with Guests
I consider my guests my friends and communicate quite a lot with them if they want. I like to learn how they experience Iceland and give them tips about different places they are interested about. In the studio the guests find a lot of brochures and books to help with their travel plans.
Álfhólsvegur is where the elves live and therefore a magical place. The studio is situated up on a hill and nature is all around us. On each site of the hill there are very nice parks, nice view to the surrounding mountains and everything in the city is within a easy reach. This is a quiet area with big gardens and where neighbours help each other so indeed a very nice place to live in.
Buses stop regularly in front of the studio taking people to downtown Reykjavík within 20 minutes.
Other Things to Note
For those having a car Elves Hill Studio is a very good place as there is plenty of free parking around.
As the studio is in a residential area and shares a garden with me and my mother, guests are asked not to have noise after 10:30pm in the evening.
Access to the hot tub and the garden is as well restricted after 10:30pm.
Smoking is prohibited inside the apartment but allowed in the garden.
Guests are kindly asked to read carefully our visitors guide which is available in the studio regarding wireless internet, television, radio, washing machine, kitchen and other things.
Check out time is 11am but I am flexible as long as new guests are not arriving same day.
Siggi's place was beautiful and located in Kopavogur where the large supermarkets and malls were just a short drive away. When we arrived Siggi was at work, but his mom came over to make sure that we had everything we needed. Thanks for a great stay!
We didn't get to meet Siggi, but his mom was very friendly. The place is nice and cozy, exactly like what you see in the pictures. It is a good location if you have a car, just 10 minutes drive to the city centre, and there are a few supermarkets around. There is nothing much i could complain about this place, overall it was a wonderful stay!
Comfortable, very clean studio that had everything we needed for our 3 day stop over in Iceland. The studio is only a short drive from Reykjavik and there is a supermarket close by (and a tasty little Lebanese eatery).
We loved the bright airy feel with its lovely garden view- and the hot tub was a gem! Siggi and his family made us feel very welcome without imposing on us.
All in all - a great little spot in an incredible country!
Great place. Had everything we needed with a nice bottle of refreshing orange juice and some fruit to greet us on the table as we arrived. Lots of light reasonably close to Reykjavik. Was definitely an advantage to have a car wouldn't do it without one. Although I did see plenty of bus stops. Place was clean beds comfortable. Great experience.
Siggi's place was warming and clean. Great place near downtown. We had the opportunity to meet Siggi and his family. They are very nice and helped us with places to eat and go. I would definitely stay here again. Loved Iceland.
Siggi and his mother are kind, gentle, warm people and I was made to feel most welcome. The apartment is most spacious and very clean and everything was as I wished it to be. Thank you.
Très agréable appartement de plein pied.
Logement bien aménagé et très propre.
L'accueil de Siggi est parfaite. Je recommande ce logement.
