Proud of my 228- 5-STAR reviews!!! Actually a mini-apt not just a room PRIVATE BATH & ENTRANCE. Smack dab between HOT Frenchmen St (the NEW Bourbon St) & French Quarter (HIP lower end!) - SECURE PARKING - 2/3 nite min -- ZEN-simple -Your Livingroom downstairs with private staircase to upstairs bedroom and PRIVATE BATH. Safe Quiet Block- Private. 140 year old Victorian. You won't believe it's only 1 1/2 blocks to the 10 hippest music venues in New Orleans!!! 6 restaurants within 1 block.

The space

REAL BED - no sofa bed -- PRIVATE BATHROOM - You'll get a copy of Michael's Fabulous Location Walking Tour - the best way to see N'awleens from my Fabulous Location. Relaxed and comfy - did I say - see pics - Be forewarned - this is not your "Great Aunt's Victorian" - a favorite decorating style in New Orleans. NOT!! Simple and Soothing. More of a New Orleans Bohemian than a Victorian flavor!!!!
There's a coffee maker. And for you British Empirettes - a kettle.
Pets = NO Smoking = Outside.
For those with vehicle-you will cherish the parking spot!
BTW - house is dander free - never had cats / dogs. Also - no perfumed-in-the-dryer sheets or towels.
I do not allow the downstairs futon sofa used as a bed because I provide no linen for it. Occasionally, I relent but have to charge a $15 linen fee - please be mindful of this situation.

Guest access

Yes I live here. Room can be locked. -
ABOUT BREAKFAST--- my favorite is at a good diner!! .........i.e - I don't do breakfast, but you can use the MICROWAVE & FRIG long as you don't leave me dirty dishes.
Also there are bottles of water in the fridge you are welcome to. No stove cooking.
Heads up - if you book please dont knock on my front tenants doors -Think = driveway= FLAG =orange door - thanks.
OK - so now head to that "reserve" button and hit it. You'll be glad you did and so will I!
Hope to see you soon ---Thanks ----
PS - guests have asked it they need to bring linen/towels etc - NO NO NO

Interaction with guests

As little as possible - HA!!!! - because guests usually really want to be on the GO-GO-GO in New OR-LEEEEENS !!! Not chatting with the landlord. But happy to answer any questions - I'm retired (single man) so home alot if you need help.
Guests have been really nice people - I don't mind answering questions or helping whatever I can. I am proud of my reviews.

Other things to note

* There is 2-3 nite minimum depending on season. MARDI GRAS - JAZZ FEST. I open reservations for these 80 days before the event.
I prefer the downstairs futon NOT be used as a bed because I provide no linen for it. If it 's use is imperative, there is a $15 linen fee - please let me know. No sleeping without clean linen.
BIG FAVOR - I have the back apartment - down the driveway. PLEASE don't knock on my two front tenant's doors. BIG THANKS.

Michael's Fabulous Location truly lives up to its name! My girlfriend and I stayed here (LGBTQ friendly, I'll add!) and walked nearly everywhere! It's just a couple of blocks from Frenchmen Street, and 15 min walking to the Heart of the French Quarter. Yet the block itself is very quiet, ensuring a good nights sleep! The space itself is great, too. There is a hairdryer, iron, sunscreen, bug spray, first aid kit, shampoo/body wash, towels, and plenty of bottled water. We had everything to make our stay comfortable.

Michael's "fabulous location" epitomizes the reason to travel to New Orleans. Michael's places is located in prime location and steps aware from cultural events and amazing restaurants. Michael maintains a clean home, which is very organized, well decorated and adorned with wonderful tips and historical facts about the area. As a guest, you will find Michael to be non-intrusive clear communicator. He is proactive about contacting you to coordinate your visit and accommodating should anything change with your travel plans.

Truly a fantastic location! And a lovely, unique place to stay (indeed a two storey cottage in a one storey house!). Perfect for us on a road trip particularly with the central secure parking. Just read everything Michael notes in his description, there's stairs, he's really accommodated for guest comfort and needs w water, maps, etc. Besides Frenchman St and the French quarter, you are on the same block as Horn's which has fantastic food (the pulled pork is the real deal), and close by is also The Ruby Slipper (brunch) and Restoration Thrift. Enjoy the Nola magic!

Response from Michael:
For single travelers -- one of the hardest things to gauge - for me - as a host is how much attention the person wants. I went to Memphis last year alone and was a bit miffed because I could not "run into" the host enough to ask questions about Memphis. Not guide book stuff but usually political stuff that residents know. If you don't see me - text me - say I have some questions!!!

Anyone that stays here will have a phenomenal time whether it will be relaxing in the loft, grabbing sushi next door, or listening to gorgeous music on Frenchmen two blocks away. This place is borderline too good to be true. I am so grateful to have had the privilege to call this my home while in New Orleans. If you are at all concerned about someone living in the airbnb, dont be. As two young, single women, we felt safe, comfortable, and confident we were in good hands. It truly is like a mini apartment. Again, I highly recommend this cozy cottage in the heart of New Orleans.
