About This Listing
Coming to the Cleveland area? Stay in our perfectly located home in Lakewood. Close to everything! Public transportation right next door. Its a 10 minute walk to downtown Lakewood and lots of great places to eat begin right on next block!
The space is nice and roomy with a king size sleigh bed and a bunk bed, a TV, wireless internet & Roku with Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu and many more. The bedroom is on the 3rd floor of the house and has a nice urban view of the street. You can comfortably sleep a family of 4 here. We have an 9 1/2 year old boy so we are family friendly. Our home is an art gallery on one side and we live on the other; however, we have a ton of paintings on the side we live in also. Its eclectic and unusual but most people love it and want to stay again and again. In addition, I have over 30 years experience cooking in restaurants all over the place and if you want to stay in and have me cook you a special dinner here I love to do that. The price fluctuates according to the menu.
Guests have access to their room, bathroom and kitchen if desired, laundry in basement and garage and carport.
Interaction with Guests
We will be around the house and in the yard but wont interfere with your privacy unless you want to come outside and sit in the back yard; or on the front or back porch or lay in the hammock. Yes, we are here when our guests are here.
This is one of the best neighborhoods in the US. It is a super safe, walk friendly, bike friendly place. There are a ton of bars and restaurants in our little city and grocery shopping and antiquing are right around the corner. The YMCA is 2 blocks down with an indoor pool if you're a member or you can go to the outdoor Lakewood Pools for a daily rate. There are several play parks in the neighborhood as well as entrances to the Metroparks less than a mile from the house. If you are coming to Cleveland you have to experience the Metroparks. Its over 100 miles of bike path that winds through forests and parks all connected that circle the city and continue south down the Erie Canal. 45 minutes from here is Cedar Point and The Islands with wineries and beaches and boating. We also have boating right here down in the Rocky River Marina or at the Edgewater Yacht club. Visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, take in a sporting event at one of the arenas or visit a comedy club downtown and try your luck at the Horseshoe Casino. Tour the Cleveland Art Museum, or the Natural History Museum or take a tour on Lolly the Trolley. You can enjoy a dinner cruise and then take in a show at Playhouse Square. There is a ton of fun things to do here!
You can walk, bike or taxi (Westlake Cab - 5$ anywhere in Lakewood). If you want to take the bus, it stops right outside of the store next to our house. Busses and RTA Transit can take you anywhere you want to go in the city and greater metropolitan area.
Other Things to Note
We have a one dog. Her name is Phoebe. She is a small dog who loves people and loves to dance. She has good manners and is friendly. She will bark when she first meets you but won't after that; and she is groomed and bathed often and I vacuum and shampoo the carpets and furniture frequently so there is no "dog" smell in the house and there's not a lot of hair flying around either as I can't stand it.
I provide Dunkin Donuts and coffee or Bagels and cream cheese and orange juice but if you want you can order eggs benedict or my special recipe biscuits and gravy with eggs or stuffed french toast with mixed berry syrup and sausage links or patties for 30.00 per party (but you can only choose one meal per morning). We are 15 minutes from the Browns Stadium, Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, Science Center, Progressive Field, or just about anywhere downtown. We are 20 minutes from the Cleveland Clinic, the VA hospital and 25 from Case Western Reserve and University Hospital.
No loud music or rough-housing; no drugs and no alcoholics (practicing). Smoking is outside only. Please leave common areas in the same shape they were in when you found them. Only our personal bedrooms and my china cabinet are off limits The rest of the house is yours to share. I love to host people and have had roommates my whole life. A lot of the people who have roomed with me are still my very close friends.
My family and I stayed at Anitra's for a night. We couldn't have asked for better accommodations! The house is conveniently located to Cleveland attractions and is right in the heart of the cool and vibrant Lakewood community. The best part though was the hospitality we received from Anitra. She made sure we were taken care of in the house with towels, toiletries, etc. She was also extremely helpful in providing us maps of Cleveland and even writing down directions for how to get to places. We couldn't have asked for a better host!! Thank you Anitra for having us : ).
I would highly recommend staying with her and if I visit again, we would stay over there again in a heartbeat!
Wonderful experience for myself, my two sons and our dog. Anitra was warm and welcoming. The room was quiet, private and spacious--plenty of room for all us. Especially enjoyed coffee and bagels in their lovely backyard. And my kids really appreciated the wi-fi and movie possibilities. A perfect home away from home. Thank you!
Nice last minute stay in Lakewood with decent Mexican restaurant next door. Wi-Fi. Room on third floor. Pets.
We had a great stay with Anitra. She was there to greet us when we arrived and we could come and go as we pleased. There were four of us in one room so we were nicely surprised to see the room was bigger than we'd expected. Very private. The neighborhood felt safe for walking and parking. The drive into the city was short and easy. Breakfast was great! And Anitra and her family were all very friendly and interesting and not at all intrusive. I'd stay again the next time!
1) Anitra is a very good host and her family are also really nice. She also provide airport pick up and drop off. ( I have to give her a big big thanks because our departure flight was really early and she gave us a ride at 3:30am). 2) She also took us for a city tour and recommended a number of good restaurants for our exploration. 3) The neighborhood is safe and there is lake view in two blocks away and a kid playground cross the street. Having said that the place is good for family trip as well as business trip ( just 15min car- ride away to Cleveland city centre and 20min to Cleveland hospital and arts centre). Thanks Anitra - we had a pleasant stay with her).
