My husband and I booked the nyc room for 4 nights.
The apartment was very convenient for our short stay in new york, we felt safe and very close to subway which we used everyday to explore Manhattan
Easy communicating with larry and he was very accommodating allowing us the check out at night to fit in with a late night departing flight
Kitchen was really good and can cook if need be Clean basic and all you need for a week and like us trying to save a bit of coin ( even cheaper than most hostels brooklyn is a cool place to stay
My boyfriend and I had a great stay while staying in one of Lawrence & Noralea apartments. The apartment we stayed at had everything we needed and if we ever need anything. They were there to assist us right away. It was very convenient spot close to lots of stores bus routes and subway. I would highly recommend them to anyone. (: thank you so much
If you stay in the union st house make sure you ask for a room with windows as it was very stuffy without windows in our room. Location was great, 2 mins to subway and stores, bakery's etc. very safe area, cops on every corner. Larry was helpful and kind, and it didn't bother us sharing a bathroom and kitchen as Larry cleaned everyday. Mostly our stay was awesome, except our bed was really hard and our room was hot.
This is a good location to stay if you are on a budget and want to explore Brooklyn. My friend and I enjoyed the Jewish neighborhood and found the subway station very convenient. Larry was a very gracious host. Our only problems were that we had requested one of the bigger rooms with windows, but it wasn't available when we arrived. We were put in the 2nd room which had no circulation. The week in which we stayed was super humid and that's how the room stayed. We had a ceiling fan that hardly worked and one other floor fan. I would suggest asking for another fan or try to get the one of the rooms with the fan. Larry did refund us 40 dollars for the inconvenience of not having the other room available. The other problem was the bed. It was not the most comfortable bed as it was hard and because of the mattress being covered in plastic it made a lot of noise any little move you made. Besides that, the stay was decent. Many little markets and Jewish bakeries and shops around.
We loved our stay and Nora and Larry's. we were given the front room, with 3 big windows so it was light and airy, even in the heat wave. In our room there was tv and cable, and 2 large wardrobes for our things. The place was very clean, and there was food and drinks for us when we arrived. It was so close to the 3 train, like 1 and a half blocks, so getting anywhere was very easy. There were 3 grocery stores and a laundromat in less then a 3 block radius. The other guests staying there were also pleasant. The area itself felt safe and homey, everyone was friendly and helpful. Thank you for everything, Nora and Larry!!! On our next trip back to New York, we would love to stay there again!!! It was a wonderful house!!!
I stayed at Noralea and Larry's house for 17 days and everything was great. The house was very clean and fully equiped when I arrived. The hosts where very helpful and they responded to my requests promptly.
Neiborhood was very close to the subway station and from there is just about 25 min to the city centre, very convenient.
We spent a good stay! Nora and Larry have been kind to us.
We did not stay in the room booked but in two other rooms. However as a whole the apartment matched well to the description.
While we never met Noralea directly our experience with Larry was excellent. The house is located in a really charming (and SAFE!) Jewish neighborhood in Brooklyn. You can literally get to the subway in less than 5 minutes making this the ideal 'home base' for a New York expedition. Larry is a phone call/text message away if the need arises but otherwise is a very unobtrusive host.
Privacy was a concern for us, but Larry was very helpful in addressing our concerns in a timely and professional manor. The walls felt a little thin at times but for a budget room we have no complaints. Besides, we spent very little time in there - we were too busy having fun in NYC!
It was a nice place to stay at in a nice neighborhood, you get a private room for a low price and plenty of restaurants and shops around.
