Wonderful host, wonderful home, in a beautiful part of the country. Loved every minute of our stay.
Jane was lovely, and the chocolate chip cookies were delicious!
We (4 adults and 2 children) had an amazing time at Poppyfield house. Jane was extremely welcoming and friendly. She provided us with a lovely breakfast each morning and advice on the area. The house is in a peaceful spot with great views, very close to the gorgeous town of Kenmare. A great spot for exploring the Ring of Kerry away from the tourist crowds. The house was a great relaxing place to come home to after days of driving. Thanks again Jane! We hope to be back some day!
Everything was even better then listed. Host was just fantastic and sheep are everywhere. This was just a perfect stay near magnificent city of Kenmore and right on the Ring of Kerry.
Irish hospitality is alive and well in Kenmare at Poppyfield House!! Jane greeted us as we arrived like we were family. The house was perfect for our family, rooms were extremely comfortable and its location was perfect for traveling to Killarney National Park and around the Ring of Kerry. We woke every morning to fresh baked breads and a lovely continental breakfast. Sunroom was perfect and the kids loved playing in the big yard out front looking at the mountains. Highly recommended and we we will certainly return when we come back to Kerry!!!
we arrived despite a really uncertain arrival time to find tea and such a warm welcome! It was like arriving at a long lost aunt's house. The house had everything we needed. Jane was in and out which was heart-warming and helpful. The wonderful conservatory meant 2 days a rain didn't matter and a day of rest could be easily enjoyed. What fantastic views from there. The kitchen was fully stocked for making dinner. It was just a super nice place to be. AND 4 km drive into Kenmare which is a really nice little town with everything you need.
My girlfriends and I had a lovely stay at Jane's home. We are three women in our early 30's. The house is exactly as it is depicted. Jane is absolutely lovely. She greeted as as if we were old friends/family when we arrived in the evening on our first night. Jane gave us a quick tour and then we had the house to ourselves. Jane stayed in a smaller home behind the house.
The house is extremely well maintained. I meant to ask Jane what kind of laundry detergent she uses because the linens and bath towels smelled so nice! All the beds were very comfortable too. My favorite rooms were the sunroom and the sitting room with a fireplace. Jane was kind enough to get the fire started for us after a day of touring the Ring of Kerry which was so nice to come home to. We also thoroughly enjoyed Jane's breakfast every morning which consisted of tea/coffee, scones, bread, cereal, and yogurt.
My only regret is that we weren't able to stay longer. The house is a great location to Kenmare and for touring the Ring of Kerry. I would definitely recommend this home!
We are in Ireland for three weeks. This was our second home, and I am sure it will have been the best lodging experience of the trip when all is said and done. Jane greeted us as if we were family. She surprised us when she said she'd be making breakfast. The coffee and tea were excellent and the baked goodies, cereal, toast, fruit, jams, and more were the perfect way to start the day. The rooms were well appointed and the beds quite comfortable. It was nice being only four km from Kenmare, but still out in the country. The sunroom was a great place for the six of us to end our day with a card game or two. If you are headed to the Ring of Kerry, stay here!
