Great Dublin stay. My daughter and I visited Dublin by way of Madrid, where I visited her and where she is studying abroad (from Los Angeles) for a full year. Due to her not wanting to miss her classes, we needed to leave Madrid late thereby arriving in Dublin later. Tom had no problem staying up to greet us and took the time to give us the lowdown on the apartment and Dublin. I'm NYC Irish, but have never been to Ireland. Meeting Tom was gratifying. He made my daughter and I feel at home. There were no gimmicks. Tom is a straight forward guy and one my daughter and I liked right off. Note: there is one (1) bedroom and a living room couch. My daughter took the bedroom, I the living room couch. Tom forewarned me about the situation before hand so there were no surprises. For a guy of 5'10", the couch was a nice fit & quite comfortable and being in the living room gave us each privacy. Plenty of heat, hot water, good kitchen equipment, good sized space, secure complex, friendly/safe neighborhood, close to food & coffee store (1 block walk), bikes on the corner for rental (biked to main Dublin one morning, 5 Euros, biking is common, make sure no flats check over bike before renting). Bike to Dublin (mile or two) & leave bike there at other rack or lock up somewhere for your return. Trams for 2,50 Euros easy walking distance, buses stop in front of complex, cab ride 8-10 Euros. Once your settled in, Tom leaves you be. I give Tom's apartment a solid thumbs up!
Great location, perfect for exploring the city. We'd a really nice visit overall and Tom made us feel very welcome. Clean house, secure and close to a good shop with a nice wine / craft beer selection ;) Would recommend.
My girlfriend and I spent four unforgettable days in Dublin and Tom’s apartment was our key to explore the city.
We really enjoyed the fully equipped kitchen and the warm and welcome atmosphere of the entire apartment. We took advantage of the bike rental scheme “Dublinbikes” (which Tom recommended with some very helpful comments) with a station right next to the house and several others nearby. We reached the city within a short ride and used the bikes for all our visits to the center. Taking them buying food in some cheaper stores is a fast and easy way to save some money when cooking for yourself, even if the two grocery stores which are located a few walking minutes from the apartment are also well equipped and have good opening hours.
Tom was an excellent host; he gave us very helpful recommendations and was always there when we needed him. We really enjoyed out stay and would recommend staying in this very nice and clean apartment!
Tom's apartment was absolutely wonderful! We arrived early and Tom met us at the apartment to welcome my mother and I. It was exactly like in the pictures. It was very comfortable and cozy. Everything is in working order and clean. He explained everything clearly, and spent time visiting with my mother and I. He had excellent recommendations for our visit. I loved that we could go to the nearby grocery store to buy food to cook meals, the bus stop was right out front of the entrance gate, and two blocks away is Patriots Pub which had "artist night" when we visited. The apartment is in a quiet neighborhood. It's so refreshing than being in a hotel. His neighbors are super nice also! I am definitely going to stay at his place when I return to Dublin! This was my first Airbnb experience and it was excellent! Thank you Tom, you are a wonderful host!
About the Host, Tom
Hi there, my name is Tom , I live in Dublin with my family. Myself and my wife Margaret love going to Dungarvan, a part of Ireland with everything you could want for a relaxed holiday. We both enjoy going for hikes in the mountains, forests and walks along the nearby beaches. We also love good food and Dublin has a wonderful selection of very good restaurants and pubs.
