Thank you for a great vacation
The house was beautiful, clean, spacious and light. We had everything we needed and Sally was very responsive through the whole process. Would love to come back!
This house is beautiful. The location was perfect (less than 10 minutes drive to the beautiful Armstrong Redwood State Park and less than 10 minutes drive to stores and restaurants, 15 minutes drive to the beach). I stayed here for 3 days with my husband, 2 year old son and parents and we wished we could've stayed for another week! The house is impeccable with all of the cooking necessities, a canoe, and a lovely fire pit outside for making smores. Really a delight staying here.
A perfect place to get away from it all. Loved having breakfast on the deck overlooking the river every morning. Monte Rio was an excellent base for our cycling adventures: a brief jaunt to the coast, the vineyards, and the redwoods. We loved the local movie theater and the shops and restaurants in nearby Guerneville and Occidental. No cell reception at the house but internet worked great and there was a landline available. (We actually counted this a pro, but good to know.) We also loved the indoor fireplace and outdoor fire pit. It was convenient having the dishwasher, washer/dryer, and all the amenities. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Redwood Butterfly is a beautiful retreat that is clean, well-decorated and very conveniently located. The space is tranquil and stylish floating in the treetops. You can easily walk into town or hide away in quiet. We had a lovely weekend and Sally was a no-hassle host.
We really enjoyed the house. Everything was so clean, new, and well stocked. We enjoyed the river and the island just across the house and had a lovely and relaxing time. The river was very low and it was easy to access and walk across to the other side. For two couples and three toddlers, there was plenty of room.
Beautiful place right on the river, super tranquil and comfortable but also has a modern feel (new kitchen + bathroom etc). Easy to get to general store that has everything and is open til 11. Really loved this place, highly recommended!
About the Host, Sally
I live a lucky life!
It includes, but is not limited to, a fantastic husband, funny siblings, a perfect Dad, crazy cousins, awesome in-laws, amazing kids, playful step-kids, beautiful grand-kids, goofy nephews, regal cats & 1 dog. Luckily the dog is part Australian shepherd, so she keeps us all in line.
I travel whenever I can and have been to all 50 states, and many foreign countries. I love any hobby that gets me wet, scuba diving being my favorite, but beach combing will do in a pinch.
My favorite saying is:
Awake each day with a winged heart, and give thanks for another day of loving.
