This spacious one bedroom flat is located in the district of San Frediano, known for being one of the most Florentine in all of Florence.
It sits just across the river from the main areas of the historic city center but is still in town. Approximately a ten minute walk from the main train station in Florence, Santa Maria Novella.
The apartment includes all the amenities with a fridge, oven, microwave, two coffee machines and a toaster. Not all of these everyday appliances are often found in homes in Italy! Plenty of space and utensils to make yourself feel right at home.
The apartment has two twin beds which can be pushed together to create a double, if you prefer. A small flatscreen TV in the bedroom and an outdoor garden all to yourself with a washing machine and outdoor dining area.
Not only one of the most traditional neighborhoods, San Frediano is also a favorite for its cafes, restaurants, bars and shops. With some of the only artiginale (craft) beer in town just around the corner, not to mention the best pizza in Florence literally on your street corner!
The flat is located within walking distance to anything and everything you could possibly need or want to see in the city. Two supermarkets are less than a ten minute walk from home, and the main attractions of the city are all just across the river.
This place is family-owned and very well taken care of. If you need any suggestions for what to do in the city, where to eat or how to get around just contact us! Travel is what I do best and I haven’t lost interest in my lovely home city.
There are not major rules regarding the house itself.
I mainly expect you to follow your common sense such as leaving the house as you found it and be considerate of the neighbors.
The apartment like every other apartment in Florence it's not new, but has been fully re-moderned. If there is any problem I ask you a bit of patience, you can send me an email or contact my parents on their phones, based on how urgent it is.
This was as excellent apartment. A beautiful but quiet part of Florence away from the chaos of the Duomo area, it was still conveniently located for all the important museums and the railway station. The place was karge, comfortable and good for two people. All the arrangements were taken care of by Lorenzo's mother Cristina.
We enjoyed our stay at Lorenzo's flat in Florence. His father, Luca, greeted us with a smile and showed us around the flat. It is in a great location away from the crowds of downtown, but not far from lots of shops and restaurants. There is a market down the street (Conad) that has everything you need. You can get to the Ufizzi gallery and downtown Florence in about 10 minutes walking, or there is a bus that runs right near the flat. The flat itself is nice and quiet with comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchenette. It is a perfect size for a couple or a couple with a baby. There is a washing machine in the back courtyard that came in handy. Overall, a very nice place if you don't want to be in the middle of the tourist madness.
It was a great stay. I have used airbnb many times and it was one of the fantastic places.
Great great location, lovely apartment. We were met by Lorenzo's family who were very very nice and friendly. Thanks Lorenzo!
From the very beginning Lorenzo was fully communicative and answered all of my questions, even the ones that must have seemed redundant! He was patient kind and made sure we were okay when we arrived to his apartment. It is not far from Santa Maria Novella and the taxi was only 10 Euros, we had two big bags so for us it was worth it. Lorenzos mother met us at the house, showed us all we needed to know and even left us with 2 restaurant recommendations.
When I asked Lorenzo for help making a reservation since we didn't have a local phone, he said it was no problem and took care of it for us.
Having the washer on the porch was perfect since we are traveling for so long, it came in exceptionally handy, the supermaket is around the corner, everything is a short walk away and we couldn't have been happier with our stay in Firenze! We were just sad to leave.
Great experience! Lorenzo and his family were very kind. They met me right when I arrived and stayed in touch if I needed anything during my stay. The apartment itself is in a nice, quiet area, a short walk to the Duomo, etc. If you like to run or want to see some nature, the location is also pretty close to the beautiful park and trail to the west of the city. The apartment doesn't get a ton of light, but this means that it stays cool during hot days. I really enjoyed staying here and found the apartment to be a great refuge from the crowds and heat of florence.
We absolutely adored the apartment! It's exceptionally charming, featuring a large bedroom and kitchen/dining area, plus a fab bathroom. The location is perfect if you're looking to have quick access to the typical Florentine tourist attractions, but want to get away from the hubbub at night.
The kitchen was incredibly well-appointed, so we could actually grab lovely foods at the Mercato Centrale or the shop linked to Vivanda (a great, organic restaurant about 5 minutes away) and cook it at home. The washing machine was an extra perk as is the little outdoor sitting area at the rear of the apartment. Lorenzo's mother, Cristina, let us in and was incredibly helpful and available if we needed anything.
I can't recommend this place enough.
I'm Lorenzo an italian 25 years old guy that likes to travel. Infact I'm renting out my cozy home because right now I'm in Australia studying for 1 year.
Since I'm here you probably won't be able to meet me, but I'm sure that my sister will be a great host.
She is 20 years old and she is a student as well. I'm sure she will make you feel home, plus she is fluent in Italian, English and French.
If you want to just ask questions about the apartment or about how to move around florence don't hesitate to contact me by email. If you want to call me and you don't want to pay an overseas call, just ask for my (website hidden).
I'm really looking forward to "opening" my house to you.
