This listing is for the biggest room in a 4 bedroom apartment located above what some would call the best sushi in Brooklyn Heights. The room is approximately 150sq ft. and has two street facing windows. It is located on the second floor of a 2 story apartment. The first floor is home to 2 more bedrooms, a full bathroom, the kitchen/dining room, and a very nice patio with a table/chairs with a green view so nice you almost forget you're in the city. Upstairs you will find the bedroom for rent, another bedroom, and a half bathroom.
This room really is in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn. Right in between the quaint Cobble Hill/Carroll Gardens neighborhoods, the beautiful and Historic Brooklyn Heights and trendy DUMBO neighborhoods. It is a 5 minute walk to the Brooklyn Heights Promenade, 10 minutes to Brooklyn Bridge Park and DUMBO. And in the opposite direction 10 minutes to Cobble Hill/Carroll Gardens.
There are an abundance of phenomenal restaurants in walking distance including neighborhood staple Clark's diner right across the street! Gristedes grocery store also on the corner as well as a number of 24 hour delis and convenience stores within a 5 minute walk.

This Brooklyn Heights site is excellent. It is in an enjoyable neighborhood, one we visit often to see family there, and this location was perfect for us personally. But it also provides easy access by subway to Manhattan -- one stop away -- and to other areas of Brooklyn. Cafes and delis are near by. (The Tazza cafe on Clark on the next block toward the East River is very good. and the Clark Street restaurant on the corner is fast and friendly. Cranberry's Deli at Henry Street and Cranberry walking toward the Brooklyn Bridge is a good stop for bagels and sandwiches to go.)
The room was as pictured with a half-bath just steps away (the full bath is one floor down). The room might be best for a lone traveler as there is not a lot of space, but it can accommodate two. Having the WiFi availability was welcome.
A word re: the two flights of stairs leading to the room: Both are steeper than most stairs. Older people or anyone with a knee problem or similar issue would find them tasking. We are both 71 and did all right, but they were a challenge, especially when carrying luggage.
A suggestion: The room has one chair and the bed, which is low to the floor. A second small chair (when two people book the room) would be good. In addition, a folding drying rack for towels would have been welcome as towels in the bathrooms belong to other tenants. Such small conveniences would be welcome.
We met other tenants briefly and they were pleasant. The overall situation in the apartment was quiet. Jennifer was easy to work with before and during the visit. We did not meet her, but we and she were in touch by text a few times.
Thank you for this nice review, Dan! You are correct, a towel rack and another chair would be a nice addition if I had a bit more space. I wish you would have said something sooner though because there are two hooks hanging behind the bedroom door that guests usually use to hang their towels. I'm so happy you enjoyed your stay otherwise.
This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Jennifer's, it is comfortable and the location is great. The neighborhood seems very safe and is close to a subway stop.
Thank you Airbnb for helping to sort out a last minute problem. You and your team were helpful, kind, and patient. We will definitely be using Airbnb for other trips. Keep up the excellent customer relations I experienced.
Jennifer was really helpful and responsive when I was trying to work out the details of the booking. Her apartment is in a great location, very convenient to the subway lines, and is cozy and comfortable. Would definitely recommend!
Jennifer's room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. She was responsive to queries and had prepared everything well. I would recommend it to anyone staying in the neighbourhood.
We had a wonderful time at Jennifer's place. It was very quiet and so convenient to everything.
The location and room were great for a single traveler who plans to be out and about in the City most of their stay. The subway stations are wonderfully close, as is great dining. Jennifer was very accommodating and communicative. I would stay again.
Jennifer was a great host. I came with a friend to visit NYC and Jennifer gave us some good suggestions on what to do and see. Brooklyn Heights is just fantastic. There are quite some restaurants, lunch cafes and bars. Her place is not far from Brooklyn Bridge and a promenade which has a great view on Manhattan. And her place is just 100ft from a metro stop (2&3 Red Line) which brings you directly to Penn Station and Time Square. I would definitively choose Jennifer's place to come back with my wife to visit Manhattan.. AND Brooklyn Heights!
I came for a short vacation wanting to see the sights of the city. Jenn's place was ideally located in Brooklyn with a short walk to two different subway stops. The Clark Street stop closer than the
High Street stop.
The Brooklyn Bridge is also relatively close if your not afraid of stretching your legs for a bit.
Also, Clark's restaurant really is a great place to get breakfast! The neighborhood seemed very nice with a grocery store across the street and other restaurants in the surrounding area.
I'd gladly return.
Jen was great. Great communicator, organised, got things sorted.
The apartment is in an amazing location, especially for the subway. It's about 100 feet from Clark Street (2&3 Red line) and probably 3-400 feet from High Street (A&C Blue Line). Brooklyn Heights is also a really nice part of town.
Apartment was quiet, the room was clean and comfortable. The room is it's own locked space and you share a bathroom with toilet and another toilet with 3 flatmates. When I was there I only ever saw 1 other flatmate, they are very low key.
I didn't use the kitchen, but it's there.
Only downside is the toilets and shower and a bit cramped and not amazingly clean, but for New York standards, it's good. You'd have to be a clean freak to mind though.
