About this listing
I first rented this place to run a Bed&Breakfast which I still do. But with the growth of Airbnb, everybody and his neighbours started doing the same thing as me. I then had the idea of renting the whole place for groups. To my surprise, the demand is overwhelming.
I must admit, it's a great idea, renting a big place for a group of friends. The place and the location is perfect for that.
Rent it and see for yourselves.
If you are looking for a large place to host a group, for a family gathering or other, this is the perfect place for you!
IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO PARTY THIS IS NOT THE PLACE. WE HAVE A VERY STRICT RULE REGARDING THE NOISE. NO LOUD MUSIC OR NOISE WILL BE TOLERATED AFTER 11PM.
The place has 6 rooms and can sleep up to 14 people. There is a fully-equiped kitchen, a comfy living area and a large terrace. There are two full bathrooms (shower/bath/toilet).
In the summer, we run the place a(URL HIDDEN)so to reserve better plan ahead. Note that (after some of the guest's comments) that if you rent the whole place you will be all by yourselves, no other people staying there.
The place is really funky. Crazy decorations, Pollock inspired walls, books everywhere, cool furniture...And the location? We are ON the boulevard, the Main as we call it, home to Leonard Cohen and Mordecai Richler, the hip Plateau neighborhood, and walking distance to the new hipsterhood, the Mile End. Everything is walking distance...The Mountain as we call it is just a couple of minutes away. The closest subway station is 10 minutes walking but there is bus 55 that does all of the St Laurent boulevard from the Old Montreal to Italian quarters. And if you are like me, you'll walk everywhere...Can't be better located....
You'll definitely enjoy the place!
The french Lonely planet (Le Guide du Routard) says: "the gem we dream of finding in a city...." You won't be disappointed!!!
You can rent the whole place or simply one room, in that case, go to MY OTHER LISTINGS on the right-hand side to see different prices, choose your room and make a reservation.
Looking forward to having you stay with us
We have neighbours so you must respect that, which means to lower the noise from 11pm onwards.
We ask that guests bring their own towels (especially for 2-3 nights stays) to save up on washing/water.
We do not ask cleaning fees, but we kindly ask that people pick up their garbage clean their dishes and leave the place cluttered-free.
A long long time ago, even before Airbnb even existed, I managed a youth hostel. There I realized that there was a strong need for private rooms but not necessarily with a private bathroom. A question of economy probably. So I went out and created the 9 1/2 Guesthouse. This is a Bed and Breakfast but with a youth hostel vibe. Breakfast is a self-serve formula, the towels don't match, and neither does the linen, and the kitchen is at your disposal if you wish to cook!! However the place is kept real clean and we definitely encourage a quiet and respectful environment.
We also rent out the entire space to groups. As you will see in the comments, people love the place. It is perfect for a weekend with friends, or a family reunion.
Looking forward to meeting you!
