The Nest is a charming two bedroom apartment close to everything the city has to offer. It has a wonderful view, beautiful, yet cozy decor, and boasts a walk factor of 98. Come stay for a few days or a few weeks, and leave the car behind!
The Nest is a charming apartment located in the Elektra Condominiums, right on the cusp of Downtown, Capitol Hill, and First Hill. Up on the eleventh floor, It looks westward over the city, and down on the convention center. Nestled at the top of the trees, the afternoon light fills it with a bright warmth as the sun traverses the sky.
The Elektra was built in 1947, and the apartment recently had a green "eco" remodel. The original oak parquet floors were refurbished, and wood trim was installed using recycled old growth Douglas fir, lovingly sanded down. Both were refinished with all-natural Tung oil. The paint has no VOCs (volatile organic compounds), and compliments the newly tiled kitchen and bathroom. The total effect is stunning.
The Nest is the perfect place for anyone who craves a healthy, green living environment. No chemicals are used during cleaning, and there are plants all around. Rest assured that you can breathe easily if you are chemically sensitive or just desire a healthy place to lay your head.
Just steps from the Washington State Convention Center and a few blocks from the heart of downtown, the Nest is situated near Seattle's many cultural amenities. Just a stroll away, you will find The Paramount Theater, Act Theater, Town Hall, and countless cafes and eateries. Enjoy the Capitol Hill nightlife and all that Broadway has to offer. Even without a car, every part of the city and metropolitan area is easily accessible. Link Light Rail is a couple of blocks away, as is the extensive Metro bus lines. The apartment comes with a parking spot, so no need to worry about downtown parking, but once you arrive, you can leave it there for the duration of your stay!
All of the comforts of home are here to make your stay relaxing - and even romantic! After a soak in the beautifully tiled tub, step out onto the warm, heated tile floor. The master bedroom has two extra wide, extra long twin beds, which can be pushed together to form a large king bed if desired. There is a memory foam topper that makes the line between the mattresses disappear, so it is quite comfortable. Gaze out across the city to Lake Union from the bed, and you might never want to get up! The second bedroom has a queen sized bed, and visitors love the opening in the wall that connects the living space with the bedroom. This portal allows for panoramic views of the city and trees; close the wooden shutters to create privacy if desired. All the cozy beds have soft sheets with high thread-counts, and luxurious down comforters.
Come stay for pleasure or business. Either way, you will be equipped with a lovely antique desk, wireless internet service, cable TV, and a brand new 40" flat screen HDTV.
Make yourself at home at The Nest, and experience its natural beauty and exquisite location... in the heart of the city! I look forward to hosting you soon...
The entire apartment will be yours for the duration of your stay.

Although our hostess wasn't home when we arrived, she had left thorough and simple instructions for access. She also left us a "welcome basket" of goodies. Suzanne was also easily reached by phone. The concierge was also helpful, from time to time. The apartment was warm, comfy and convenient to everything, as described.
A lovely experience in Seattle. Thanks, Suzanne.
Tom and Pat from Vermont.
We had a really nice time in Seattle at The Nest. Although we were there for a business travel, we felt like home thanks to the hospitality and kindness of our host.
We had a wonderful time at the nest. Suzanne was quick to respond, everything was so easy and directions very clear. We were visiting Seattle for a conference and you really can't beat the location. Suzanne had lots of tea and extra bedding which was super handy. Beds very comfy - the place immediately feels like home as you step in. This is where we're staying next year.
Location was great, super close to the convention center, whichw as exactly where we wanted to be. Really wish there had been fewer people smoking out front and in the halls, but that is out of the hosts control.
So sorry to hear about the smoking problem! I'm very surprised, as there is a strict rule in the building of no smoking in public places, as well as a WA state law of no smoking within 25 feet of any entrance. I haven't experienced this problem, so not sure why it was happening while you were there. If you ever do decide to stay with me again, know that you can report it to the managers at the front desk, and they should put a stop to it immediately. Alternatively, if you contact me, I will speak with the managers and get it dealt with asap. Glad to hear the rest of the stay was nice.
We weren't able to check in at 4 p.m. (no key in lockbox), and were unable to reach host by phone. Luckily, this little wrinkle sorted itself out in about an hour, during which we worried while we had a beer at a nearby brew pub.
The location is great for leaving the car in the parking lot.
No mention in the description about the noise from the freeway. Earplugs are essential.
There is good reason why Suzanne's "Nest" deserves five stars:
1) The location is great (especially for those who want to hit the major Seattle attractions - Pike Place, the Space Needle, Chihuly glass garden, Pioneer Square, etc.) 2) The condo is clean, cozy and well furnished - our party of four was very comfortable in terms of sleeping arrangements and storage space. 3) The directions to access the condo were very specific - even after a long journey to get to Seattle, it was a breeze to find the unit and settle in. 4) The little details (welcome basket, well stocked pantry, abundance of clean linens), truly made us feel at home during our stay.
The only downside I can think of is that this was my first experience with Airbnb and I'm afraid it may have set the bar too high!
Great host. All was as described. Really handy to the convention center. Stay went well.

Hello fellow travelers and guests!
I love to adventure, meet people, create beautiful spaces, and share my home with guests. I live on Vashon Island, but have a cute little "pied a terre" in Seattle; The Nest in the Heart of the City.
I'm a sign language interprerpreter by profession, and love what I do. When I'm not doing that, I'm usually on Vashon Island, working on my house there, or off exploring the outdoors; skiing, hiking, or biking. I love to travel, and want to try out airbnb all over the planet!
I love to interact with people, so feel free to ask me anything about myself, and tell me a bit about you!
