Hi, this is Toshi, an English speaker. Welcome to this neighborhood and my home. This area, called YaNeSen(Yanaka, Sendagi, Nezu), has preserved the charm as creating a contrast of old and new at the same time. It's because of the tendency to re-purpose older buildings rather than rebuilding. My home is a big house in good condition even located in central Tokyo. I manage this house as enjoying sharing life. In a word, the best place to feel local life in Tokyo.

The space
The house has a large, nice living/dining room and 5 bedrooms; one or two rooms will be for Airbnb guests and the rest will be for me and other long-term residents.

Located on the second floor, this room has a queen-size bed and is ideal for a couple. (Solo travellers are of course welcome. Children under 6 years of age are not charged, so if you are staying with parents and a child, please book for two. However, the bed may seem smaller for three people, so check at the time of booking to make sure this is not a problem.) After a day of touring Tokyo with its many attractions, it is very comfortable to rest in this large bed.

Facilities include: wardrobe, handmade work desk, work chair, extra work space, air conditioning and gas heating.

GOOD for:
who is interested in local daily life/culture/people.
who prefer down to earth area rather than high street.

NOT GOOD for:
who is just looking for a place to sleep.
who is not willing to communicate with host and share mates.
non english speaker.

During your stay
It's always meaningful to exchange ideas about life, culture, work, interest, with guests from the world. I usually work at home so please feel free to chat together or ask about anything if you need help. But i need to go to business trip therefore i might miss to meet some guests. There are three Japanese share mates in this house. Some can speak English as well, some cannot fluently, but enjoy this shared life anyway!

As long as times allow, have a chat or meals together! But no pressure, it is just up to you.

I used to work mainly in internet service field as a start-up member. I have founded a couple of companies with my business partners, or was involved some friends' start-up business. After i had been working so hard for years, i felt tired of such life. Now i have changed my life style to have more time for myself, enjoy accepting guests from the world, as being involved in some other projects. I need to visit and stay in Vietnam often for my work.

I'm looking forward to meeting people from all over the world! Let's share the time.

Bunkyō-ku, Tōkyō-to, Japan

Super convenient location to get around Tokyo.
6 min walk from the nearest subway station.
A gate area to central Tokyo from airport.

Here is a remaining authentic downtown in Tokyo. A quiet neighborhood with one of the most vivid local market street in Tokyo, beautiful sakura-lined cemetery, plenty of temples, old and new indie cafes, restaurants, shops and stalls, some of which have passed down through generations, and art galleries, etc. All of them are within 1-15 mins walking distance. So now here attracts both Japanese and foreigner visitors so much. Just lovely area.

- Ueno Park (15 mins walk)
