I am an American woman living in Buenos Aires for more than 9 years. I came here to dance tango and ended up living here. I love sharing my Buenos Aires with travelers. I have been hosting people in my apartment for 8 years. One of my guests called me the concierge of Buenos Aires. Mostly because I have lots of knowledge on where everything is or where to find things. I am fluent in Spanish, so I can help you make those phone calls or help you out with things that you may not understand.
I have a beautiful 3 bedroom apartment in Palermo. I rent 1 bedroom that shares a bathroom. (Actually there is no one to share the bathroom with, so really it is yours.) The apartment is air conditioned and heated. There is a full kitchen with microwave which guests may use. The living room has a TV with cable and stereo. The best part is I live on the 17th floor with a view of the river. It is wonderful to sit on the balcony and have breakfast. My building has 24 hour security. I am 4 blocks from Plaza Italia which is a main transportation hub where you can catch the Subte (metro) buses and taxis. Palermo is home to the most beautiful parks, museums, shopping, cafes, and the zoo.
I live with a small dog and a cat. They actually run the place sometimes. Most of my guests say that living with me, Maximiliana, and JerryBrown (the cat) makes it seem more like home. We hope it does for you too.

  • I had a great stay with Deby, a really lovely living space. Lots of closet space, (which is important for ladies), AND lots of hangers. Maxy and
Jerry Brown are characters and certainly add to the "homey" feeling of the place. The balcony has a world-class view of the city and the river, and sitting out there to sip one's coffee is fabulous. The barrio has some really interesting food opportunities, and is close to all public transportation.

  • Although writing a negative review is not something I undertake lightly,
the spirit and value of Airbnb depend on guests candidly reporting their
experiences. I regret that I could never recommend Deby as an Airbnb host.
For the first week of my second visit to Buenos Aires I decided
to try an Airbnb room-stay instead of renting an apartment. Although I
knew that Deby's bedroom would not be a money-saver (entire studio
apartments in Palermo rent for about the same price), I am a former Peace
Corps Volunteer, and I hoped a stay with an ex-pat American might provide
interesting insights into Argentine culture and life. In this hope and in
much else I was greatly disappointed.
I will start with the positive: Deby's place was immaculate,
quiet, safe, and well-located; the bed and bedding were comfortable; the
kitchen is spacious and adequately equipped for a guest's simple food
preparation. As a lifelong pet lover, I enjoyed her cat and dog.
Unfortunately, the negatives far outweighed the positive: the
rental bedroom is very small -- no room for a chair; the only furniture
besides the bed was a tall, narrow chest, topped by a goose-neck desk lamp
(the bedroom closet was adequate); the furnishings and lighting in the
combined dining/living-room are also minimal, and dreary. Worse, however,
than the physical aspect of Deby's apartment was the invisible atmosphere:
from the day of my arrival, I felt that I was intruding, rather than being
welcomed, into someone's home. My predominant impression was that Deby
reluctantly rents her spare room out of economic necessity.
After my departure, and after submitting an initial positive
review of me, Deby (apparently motivated by the incident described in the
paragraph below) changed her review, criticizing me for: using all the
towels she had placed in my room, changing the channels while I watched TV
alone, having trouble with the key to her building on the day of my
arrival, and for accidentally breaking a guest plate (for which I had fully
reimbursed her). I guess I am lucky she did not mention the extra roll of
    toilet paper I hesitatingly requested.
As if the above were not enough, following my departure, I
received emails from Deby saying that she could not find her air
conditioner remote control, and that she had found a small chip in her
credenza, and essentially accusing me of being responsible for both. In
emails and a text message, I told her I had not touched her AC remote, and
saying I did not believe I had caused the chip. Apparently convinced
that I was lying, Deby filed a claim with Airbnb against my security
deposit. Although Airbnb closed the case without charge to me after I
presented my side of the story (including copies of our email messages), I
hope and trust that I will never again experience Deby's approach to
    hosting.

  • Buenos Aries trip was made great by staying with Deby and her thoughts on where to go and what to do.
Her home is a great location and with her help BA was easy to get around. The condo was very comfortable with a great view and Deby made it seem like we had been friends forever.
Next trip to BA I will be staying with Deby

  • Deby is a great host and has a great, very comfortable apartment. It is located in a great neighborhood with great shops and restaurants.

    June 2012
  • Deby is a great host! Her apartment is just as advertised and well kept, and she's very helpful about helping you navigate Buenos Aires. We had interesting conversations on a range of subjects, and her pets (Maxi and Jerry Brown) are the best!

    May 2012
  • I will only mention the positive

    1. the location is good, about 3-4 blocks away from the underground which makes it is easy.

    2. The pets, the dog Maxi and the cat Mr. Brow, are very friendly and they greet you each time you open the door and get into the apt.

That's All What I Can Say.

  • I enjoyed my stay with Debiy. Deby's place is clean, beautiful and well organized.

Deby's knowledge about Buenos Aires proved to be invaluable. My room was excellent, good bed, lots of space for hanging and storing clothes as well as a private bathroom.

Avery good value for the money.

  • I had a great time staying at Deby's place. The room was clean and comfortable, and snuggling with the her pets was an added bonus. She's a wealth of knowledge about where to eat and what to see in Buenos Aires. Thanks again Deby!

  • Great place and very well located!
Deby is also a nice Host, and helped me find out everything I needed in the city! I do recommend!

    February 2012
  • I travelled to Buenos Aires primarily to get to know the city, explore the museums, hang out with friends and get to milongas to dance. The two weeks were filled with all I expected and more. It is a great vacation place to experience various venues for music, art, architecture, history, food and much more.
Staying at Deby's put me central to public transportation which is wonderful and within long walking distance of central city adventures as well as several barrios that were full of art and leisure activities. Deby shared her experience of the city and culture and was helpful in getting me oriented to BsAs. We shared a night of dancing and one of jazz that were quite memorable. The accommodations were comfortable and the bed was great. The view of the river and Uruguay are quite nice. I am particularly fond of Jerry Brown and enjoyed the neighborhood walks with Maxie. Thank you.

Maxi and JerryBrown sat by the bedroom door for about a week waiting for you. They were as happy to have you here as I was. You are always welcome to stay with (website hidden) Besos

About
I am an American woman living in Buenos Aires more than 8 years. I came here in 2000 to dance tango and fell in love with the city. I made 16 trips before I decided to move here permanently. I have been renting rooms in my apartment since 2005. More than 120 people have stayed with me. I love having guests stay with me. I treat you as if you were one of my friends. In fact I have made many wonderful friends all over the world this way. If you are a tango dancer you are welcome to join me in the milongas. I like to invite my guests to any social events or cultural events I may go to. If you just want the keys to the door, that is fine too. I am outgoing, well read in both Spanish and English. I like to go to movies, the theater, and concerts. My life is spontaneous. My friends are mostly Argentine and a few immigrants from other countries. I like introducing people to life in Buenos Aires as it is lived here.
