Imagine a place in the forest, overlooking the mountains where you have absolute privacy in a unique living-off-the-grid experience, to unplug and reconnect with nature. Massive windows and towering trees make you feel immersed in nature. Luxurious interior with hand-crafted space for relaxing, hiking, skiing, and forest bathing to enable the most stressed to decompress. We embrace the life philosophy of minimalism and our guests will be most satisfied if they share these values.

The space
Welcome to the woods! Special welcome to this 2021 season: we hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

This is a hand-crafted treehouse, deep in the woods with limited amenities and total privacy. Situated in the hills and protected from roads, the only sounds are nature resound.

We remain careful and cautious in hosting and adhere to appropriate health protocols while welcoming your stay.

Planning for your stay - As the treehouse is located in the woods. You may want to pack what you need before arrival, including food.
Wifi - There is no wifi in the treehouse; 4G on Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T works well.
Shower - An outdoor, air temperature shower next to the treehouse during late spring to fall. No shower in winter months.
Bathroom - A clean, comfortable outhouse with a view next to the treehouse.
Kitchen - There is no kitchen. A sink for guests to wash their hands with room-temperature, potable water, paper cups and plates, and a propane burner to be used at ground level outdoors.
Cooking - There is no kitchen to cook inside the treehouse. A fire pit and a grate are provided outside the treehouse for camp cooking. A propane burner can be used to boil water; Water and instant coffee are provided. Considering the limited water in winter, we suggest planning meals that are easy to cook and clean up after.
Power - Equipped with LED lights in and outside the treehouse. Low voltage power is available for charging phones.
Things to do - Prepare to entertain yourself when offline. Forest bathing, bird watching, hiking in the woods, reading a book while breathing in the forest - getting lost in nature.

Guest access
Guests can park in the area next to the path leading to the treehouse. The path is about 300 feet and In winter the path may be covered with snow and ice.

Other things to note
Going forward in 2021, we want to balance our ability to sustain the treehouse upkeep
with our fees. We decided to reduce our fees in exchange for asking our guests to bring all sheets, blankets, towels, as well as carry out all trash, leave no trace approach.

Considering the rural location, we implore you to follow the directions to the treehouse provided. GPS may point to our location up to two miles away, which also takes you a longer route though known long cell dead zones in the valleys while driving.

I have lived in many places including Beijing, New York City, Boston, and now call New Hampshire home. The Ling Treehouse was named after our recent visit to Ling Yin Temple in China, a place that turned our mind away from worldly things. I love the granite state for what nature has to offer: the mountains, the rolling hills, the forests, the lakes, and the wild animals - they always welcome me home from my travels. When I travel, I prefer to stay with Airbnb whenever possible for connecting with people who open their homes to me; I aspire to be a host for others, offering thoughtful services connecting people with nature.
