  • The Sparrow Tavern

Great juke box, drinks and food--hip, yet neighborhoody. You might also want to try The Bonnie (new) 23rd Ave. between 29th and 31st streets. Similar vibe, but a bit more upscale. Oyster sliders, yum.
    29th Street NY 11102
  • Mosaic

This place feels rather loungy--sink deep into couches, and hang out with your book club, sipping wine. My husband calls it froufrou, but I like it.

Best Greek Bakery in the city, hands-down. THere are a few seats to sit for coffee and pastry, and watch the comings and goings. Located in a small mall specializing in Greek shopping/groceries.
