I live in another unit within the same building, so can be easily reached with any inquiries! I'm happy to recommend anything from shops (my specialty) to restaurants (my other specialty), and will be available to help you with anything regarding the unit.
Chinatown is a vibrant community full of the great restaurants, trendy cafes, and unique boutiques that makes Victoria a special place. Everything from the newly constructed Hudson Bay Public Market (a great place to enjoy local foods and vendors) to the historic Fan Tan Alley will be right outside your door. Trust us - there is no better location.
The condo is a half-hour drive away from YYJ airport and ferry terminals, and we are able to provide transport as needed to and from those places. There are also shuttles and buses operating everyday. Please ask us if you have any questions as to how to get around.
No pets allowed, unfortunately. This is also a non-smoking unit. Please behave courteously to this property, as it is a brand new building.
Right from the start Shelly was very accommodating. The description was spot on and the condo was just what we had been looking for. We are hoping that there will open dates for us next year as we have no reservations about coming back again except maybe staying a bit longer LOL. Shelly you might want to have a look at the dining room light and the bulbs that are in it. We did notice that it would flutter when dimmed. Its usually from the wrong type of bulb in it. Other than that see you next year
We planned to visit Victoria BC to connect with relatives and to escape eastern Canada's winter weather. We were intrigued and pleased by the photographs and information on the Fisgard Avenue condo hosted by Shelly Shan. We rented the condo for three weeks and by the end would have been happy to double this time. Renting in Chinatown was wonderful: the condo was clean, comfortable and characterful. (We invited a few friends and relatives to see it and they were also delighted). Bedroom, bathroom and kitchen unit were excellent. Sunlight was plentiful through the large windows fronting on another condo and a spacious city rooftop garden below. Walking around Chinatown was a delightful adventure. Our electronic passkeys were fun. We will miss the wonderful coffee shop at our doorstep and all the fascinating shops scattered through the small Chinatown area. Walking downtown from this location is easy. Inside, we felt safe, comfortable and grateful for the silence and sunlight. The other renters/owners in this building were unobtrusive but friendly and quiet. Nearby streets like Fan Tan Alley and Dragon Alley led to charming stores; Theatre Alley was a alternative walking route leading to Pandora Street. We were so pleased with the condo, the Fisgard area, and the weather that we have been considering buying in Victoria! We certainly hope to return to this condo next year for an extensive stay. Shelly Shan is a friendly, knowing host, quite unique, and if anyone is looking for a movie extra, they would be intrigued! Seriously, she does a very good job! We hope that she and the Union Condo people continue their success in this unique part of the complex city of Victoria B.C.
My husband and I enjoyed our night at this Chinatown location. The layout is exactly as described, and the location is fabulous for accessing all of the downtown hot spots. There were a few glitches with check in and supplies, but Shelly apologetically and promptly sorted things out.
great downtown location, modern and new building, needs a bit more cleaning and mattress could be upgraded
I love strolling the old downtown of a city. Shelly's home has perfect location appropriate for it. My family took the Ghostly Walk program that informed us of the vivid historic story of Victoria, the walk route of which included the oldest Chinatown in Canada where Shelly's house is located. We enjoyed walking through alleys, dinners at restaurants, and shopping at grocery stores near the house a lot. It is needless to say that the house is comfortable for those who would stay and travel for a while enjoying the historic amenity of Victoria. The bedroom was clean and neat. The equipment at kitchen, furniture, and parking lot gave us much convenience. Thank you Shelly!
We had a great stay at Shelly's. The location is perfect, great for touring around downtown and seeing all the sites. It was clean, easy to get to and comfortable. Very cute place, makes you feel right at home.
Hi! I'm Shelly, a third year Creative Writing student in University of Victoria. I like reading (Murakami, DFW, Zadie Smith, Jonathan Franzen), film (Sofia Coppola, Richard Linklater, Michel Gondry), and my two cats. I also like fake flowers, online shopping, mimosas, and ordering takeout. A lot. I'm mostly fuelled by consumer-related adrenaline and caffeine.
I love to travel, and have been all over North America, Asia, and Europe. Airbnb has been an incredible resource for me, and not only do I think it's great being connected to people all over the world, but like, having an apartment while travelling is an absolute luxury, and now you can get it for cheaper than a hotel room!!!
As a host, I live in the same building, and you can reach me at any time! I'm happy to recommend local restaurants or places you should sightsee. I've lived in Victoria for fifteen years, and I'd like to think I know the city pretty well.
If you decide to go with me as your host, I'm sure I can make your visit to Victoria lil bit nicer. Thanks for stopping by!
