camera con bagno indipendente, letto matrimoniale e un divano letto. Uso cucina, lavatrice, lavastoviglie, wi-fi! In posizione centralissima, dietro Piazza del Campo, palazzo storico.
Roberto was a kind host, his apartment was spacious and well equipped. It was in the centre of all the tourist attractions in Siena. The apartment was a little difficult to find as the one street had two street names. From train station you would need to catch a bus to Piazza Gramsci and then walk further 10min. Its great having own bathroom, much like a hotel.
The apartment is right in the city center and the room, with its great view, was even more beautiful that we have expected. We enjoyed staying at Robertos.
We arrived early and were welcomed warmly by Roberto. Our room wasn't ready but Roberto kindly allowed us to leave our luggage whilst we explored Siena.
The selling feature of this accommodation is its location in the centre of the old town. It is an easy walk to the main sites along the cobbled streets.
The accommodation itself is a self-contained room in what appears to be a share-house. The apartment is on the third floor. There is not a lift. Roberto gave us 3 keys. One for the street entrance which is never locked. One for our room which did not have a lock and one for the apartment door. Only having a sliding bolt on our door, we chose to keep our passports etc on our person.
The apartment layout appears to have been changed over the years and perhaps the ensuite bathroom and room entrance used to be a part of a hallway. One has to bend ones head to clear the entrance doorway. The original door to the room is behind a closet and conversations from the adjoining room can be heard through this door.
The decor generally reflects the relatively low accommodation fee.
The provided breakfast consists of packaged biscuits and rolls. Juice and water were also provided in the room fridge.
The location made up for most of any shortcomings. As our visit was in winter , our main disappointment was the poor heating. The central heating came on about 9:00 pm and went off at midnight. A small electric heater was provided but it was on our second night that we discovered that it did work if it was shaken to make up a loose connection.
We really enjoyed our stay at Roberto's. Roberto was there when we arrived and was very welcoming. The apartment was shared by others (long term renters, I presume), but everyone was polite. The room is quite large and has a private bath. Breakfast items were provided. The location could honestly not be better. It is nearby excellent restaurants and all the sites we wanted to visit. Everything was within walking distance. Overall, very happy with our choice to stay there. Ciao Roberto!
Roberto is a very friendly host. His friend received us very well. His house is in the Siena's heart. In the corner of Piazza del Campo. The room was big enough and very comfortable.
When we arrived Roberto wasn't in home and we found that he has a cloth store in the same street, so we went there and found his friends who helped us.
