This is an incredibly fun and inviting space that will make you feel like a local. It's right off the bay where you could spot dolphins and turtles as well as being near other beaches, great restaurants, cute shops, and historical sites. The space has a beachy outdoor vibe that felt very relaxing after a long day of exploring the area. The outdoor shower was really neat! Unfortunately, I did not get to make use of the beach gear provided due to plans having to change on my part, but I appreciated that they were there so visitors wouldn't need to go out and buy their own or pack them. Would highly recommend staying here if you're spending time on the west side of the island!

We couldn't have been happier with our choice to stay at the Bali Cottage. It was apparent from the moment we arrived that this is a truly unique place and that Karen and Ron have poured their heart and soul into making this a special place to share with guests. The open air kitchen was wonderful to cook in and the open shower was a true delight after days spent snorkeling a quick walk from the property. We were able to swim with dolphins and sea turtles and enjoyed the company of the house cat "Purrs". My only hesitation in writing a good review is that it will make it harder for us to book this place again as I fear it will be too competitive!! All in all one of the neatest places I have ever had the privilege to stay. A special thanks goes out to Ron for the herculean task of planting all the trees in the lava field. They made the cottage truly feel like an private retreat.

Super sweet and generously welcoming hosts. Balinese hut structure is more an assemblage of antique carved Balinese wood partitions and doors with a new frame structure and corrugated metal roof tucked under and against a Banyan tree. Less an integral Balinese hut and more a tinkerer's passion project... quirky and eccentric, tipping slightly into the haphazard. A few minor annoyances with the Banyan tree dropping nuts (or hard berries?) on the metal roof at night, and a few drops of rain infiltrating the roof during a hard rain. Overall a fun if quirky spot in a beautiful location away from the resorts but close enough for access to whatever.

This place is a gem, and Karen and Ron are amazing hosts! The cottage was very comfortable, and we loved waking up to the sounds of the birds. We even made a cute little gecko friend. :) The porch was great for hanging out and relaxing, and the kitchen was fully equipped for cooking. Inside there cottage there were books and card games. We also loved snorkeling and watching the gorgeous sunset in the bay! It was just a quick walk to the water, and there is plenty of snorkel gear on the porch. I can't say enough good things, and I only wish we had spent more than one night here!

My wife and I had an incredible two night stay here. I wish we could have spent more time - we loved everything about it. The cottage is beautiful. Bright, open and vibrant. Everything was spotless. The cottage is a short walk from the bay, which is a great spot for snorkeling or relaxing in the sun. Karen and Ron were incredibly welcoming and helpful. We were very lucky to have had the opportunity to meet them and stay at their cottage! We highly recommend!

A picture is worth a thousand words. We travel somewhere special every year. The ambiance of this secluded tree hut more than fulfilled our expectations. A one of a kind and only a few steps from the beach. We enjoyed the birds singing in the morning & the nuts falling & rolling off the tin roof. There were gecko's on constant patrol in the hut to keep the bugs in check. Ron & Karen were the perfect host!
